I will never do business here again. I took my CubCadet 33" Walkbehind mower in for preventative maintenance at the end of January. I got it back around the end of March, which I thought was a good turn around. I took it home, started it, and depressed the levers. Immediately, one cable snapped and the other's lead head cracked. I waited two months to get it repaired, and now I am being charged $200 for the cables. Of course, the owner claims it wasn't his fault, and the cables that snapped weren't the ones they had replaced during preventative maintenance. It's funny though how I used that machine all last season, depressing those levers probably hundreds of times and never snapping a cable. Sure, the possibility that they had nothing do with it exists, as miniscule as it may be. Could they have been installed improperly after removing them for maintenance? Seems more likely. The biggest problem with this business and probably most one-and- two-star businesses is simply a lack of communication. They should have come out and explained to me what had gone wrong. Or at least speculated as to what had gone wrong. During one of my short conversations on my weekly call to discuss the mowers status, I asked the clerk why the cables had snapped. All I got was an, " I dunno." When I asked, "will I be responsible for this" I got, "well... the owner's not here right now." Also during one of those conversation I found out the parts weren't ordered on April 2nd when it went back in, but on the 22nd of April. Why? "I dunno" was again the response. A call from the owner to explain what was going on would have gone a long way with me. It would have retained me as a customer. As I explained to him, he could have waved the $200. It would have been an investment in me, as a customer. I would have returned there for years had they done that. Or, split the cost, something. Take some responsibility, but he chose to take the quick cash. So, I can echo the Yelp reviewer Henry P, horrible customer service, arrogant owner, shop somewhere else!
