We were just off the tram from Belem and wanted pizza near the train station, so as we explored nearby streets we happened on this nicely appointed establishment. The vibe was good so we went in and were seated even though we had no reservation.
The menu is quite broad, many varieties of pizza, also some calzones and pasta dishes. I had a thin-crust with tomato sauce, cheese, onions, anchovies, and olives. She had a thick-crust with tomato sauce, several cheeses, and spicy salami. Both were very good. Also a bottle of nice Portuguese red wine.
Only reason for no fifth star is uneven service: As the restaurant became busier (around 9pm), our server became largely absent and we had to become more assertive to get attention. My wife ate half her pizza and asked that the rest be boxed; but when neither the box nor the bill had come after 15 minutes we asked again, only to find the server hadn't understood the request (language) and the remaining pizza had been tossed. But she had the kitchen quickly make us another pizza to go, no charge, and we were on our way. Fortunately we weren't in any great hurry.
I'd go again and take care to ensure clearer communication, as we don't speak Portuguese. read more
