Global Market Location!! Love this spot. I get #16 with no jalopenos. The owner is so nice and helpful and greets you with a smile. He even brought my food to me. The taste of this sandwich is unbeatable. This is my go to for breakfast options. Tastes fresh every time, and flavorful.

Ohhhh Manny's, Manny's! While I think they're the most well-known vendor in the Midtown Global Market, I still think Manny's is underrated!!! I absolutely love everything in MGM but Manny's hits different! I'm not sure why it took me so long to try it - my first time was in late 2020 but better late than never! I've gone several times since then and it never disappoints! I have yet to stray from the tortas because they're just sooooo good! Every torta also comes with a bag of classic lays - I love this touch! They're also so sweet here! You can often order from Manny himself! Get any torta here and I promise you will understand me when I say it's probably the best hidden gem in Minneapolis! Oh and did I mention you'll spend under $15 on this meal?! And you'll be full!! Seriously Manny's is kind of perfect, I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Parking tip: you can park in the garage on 10th Ave S and I believe they offer 1 hour validation! I often park in the 2 hour free street parking along E 29th St & 11th Ave S, just because who wants to spend only 1 hour at the market ;)

Manny people have come here and manny people have loved it and manny people have given manny 5 star ratings to that. But I've had a great manny tortas in my life, manny more than most of the manny others who have reviewed this place. Not that manny tortas have blown me away, but manny of them are pretty damn good and this is one of the manny that are pretty damn good, but not incredible. They're also not cheap, costing a couple too manny dollars, if you ask me. But manny places inside this market are a little overpriced, and manny other places are charging too much these days. The lady working at Manny's Tortas was a complete angel. She was my fave thing about the place. The prices are not too bad and the products are pretty decent. However, considering some of the reviews, I was expecting maybe the best Torta I've ever had, when in fact I can name five straight off the top of my head in Houston alone, that I like way more than this one, and probably 40 or 50 nationwide. In fact, I bet I can find some others in the Twin Cities that I like more too. Close to the main entrance of the Hipster, muy-appropriated Midtown Global Market, Manny's is one of the more popular spots in here, and can have lines and wait times sometimes, but the rest of the market is well worth exploring, which does have some great food in it as well. This goes in the good food category but not the great food category. The fact that the woman serving it was so friendly is, as I said, my favourite thing about it. I did eat about half of it so it certainly was good but I was hungry so if it had been amazing I'm sure the whole thing would have gone down. Just like me. I like to go down and I like to make sure the whole thing goes down if you know what I mean.

My wife and I came here with a little one for lunch earlier this month. Thank goodness, this was open on a Sunday as only a few were open in Midtown Global Markets. My wife got the Manny special (Steak, Onion, Mushroom, Tomato, Jalapeño, grilled together then topped with Ham & Cheese) while I got a breakfast sandwich (HUEVOS CON CHORIZO / EGG & MEXICAN). The nice people there served it to us and provided a knife to cut for our son to eat as well. Our son who is a little over 1 year old loved both sandwiches. Also, it came with a side of Lay's potato chips which was nice as well. I hope that this place gets better traction since it looks a little depressing with alot of stores closed. Then again, it was a Sunday and maybe more activity on Saturdays.

Most of the sandwiches are good here. In Minneapolis, that's a revelation! The Cubana is worthy of the praise it receives. Even the turkey is interesting, with a tangy sauce. There are a lot of great sandwiches to choose from, and almost all are pretty good. The only miss here is the bistek (steak) torta. As with most other Mexican restaurants in the twin cities, beef is cut into tiny, flavorless gumball-sized chunks. (I don't know why this is such a thing here, and I've never gotten used to it.) Also, be warned that this restaurant does a very big takeout and delivery business. You will not be warned when you order if they are busy, even if it appears you are the only customer at the counter. Overall, this is the second best food stand at the Midtown Global Market.

Chef Pedro took our order (bonus points) and we had a lovely conversation about New Orleans. The menu here has a lot of New Orleans food intertwined. Based on where Pedro previously worked in New Orleans, he has an outstanding culinary background. I was going to order the Muffaletta, which can be served hot or cold, but they were out. When I heard why, I was impressed. In New Orleans, the gold standard of bread is Leidenheimer. Minnesota doesn't have the same bread (Trung Nam Bakery is the closest substitute). Pedro uses Leidenheimer for his Muffalettas. Pedro also makes his own olive salad. I am looking forward to trying a Muffaletta. My husband ordered the Zambon Dip and really enjoyed it. I had the Herb Brooks Focaccia. It was great. Big portions. What is really funny is I knew the North Stars as I worked at the Met Center. Fun memorabilia too. On street parking and some tables outside. What we used to call a neighborhood joint. Stop in and say hi to Pedro. Now I just wish he would make Gumbo with some okra and filé.

Being 5 minutes from our destination we decided to give it a try And boy are we glad we did! The sammiches weee absolutely outstanding. They come with a smorgasbord of toppings, so you need to peruse the list to determine if there is anything you DON'T want. We had three turkey sammiches and one ham, and everyone chose to modify their toppings slightly (note/ if you desire tomatoes, those need to be added as they oddly aren't on included in the smorgasbord ‍) I opted for everything - perhaps a bit anxious about how well all the flavours would mesh (mayo, mustard, horseradish, oil and vinegar along with various toppings). But you know something / it worked really really well. We also chose the potato salad as a side and it was also quite tasty. Lighter, northerly mayo's. While the sammiches weee being constructed we perused the offering in the attached grocery. Everything oooed fantastic and if we lived Locally, I would certainly be a regular - with an eye to trying many of their offerings beyond the sandwich counter.

On one side is a meat market with a variety of cuts of steaks, lamb, and other meats, which all looked fresh and quite nice. They also have a variety of items such as canned goods, pasta, eggs, etc. on the shelves opposite the meat counter. The entire place is quite sunny, pleasant, and cozy. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.

***BANH MI HEADCHEESE GOAT***…read more This is the best Banh Mi sandwich I've ever had in my entire life for a cold cut with homemade real head cheese. I've always said that places that make Banh Mi without the head cheese & charge the same $8 prices and call it a cold cut these places need to be locked up and the key thrown away because that is not a real cold cut Banh Mi & you're getting ripped off. This place is totally worth every penny that you pay for their sandwiches. They also make vegan sandwiches. Their marinated tofu is actually really good. I really wish this place would make Boba drinks, especially something with like a coffee jelly because I'm always wanting a Vietnamese sandwich with a Boba drink. Luckily there's a couple down the street that I can go to to get this right after I pick up a sandwich from here. The egg rolls had a good crisp. They're filled with carrots and bean thread primarily. They are definitely an oilier egg roll, but no one eats egg rolls to be healthy! They are tasty, and I would get them again! The tofu banh mi was good! The tofu had a good curry flavor, and they were generous with their fillings, which I really appreciated! The bread itself wasn't the crispiest, but it was a humid day so I could see that making it a little less crisp! It was still overall good, and I was really happy with the amount of mayo that went on the sandwich! I think you get good bang for your buck with the sandwiches here, so I would recommend it and go back!

My friend and I each ordered the Wesley and our sandwiches were ready within minutes. Unfortunately, my order came out as the Eddie rather than the Wesley, but it sounded good so I just went with it. The staff was beyond generous and ended up making the Wesley for me anyways. The Eddie was good, not great. It comes with bacon, turkey, avocado, tomato, lettuce and chipotle mayo. The chipotle mayo was so tasty with subtle heat, and the roll was nice and soft on the inside and crisp on the outside. My only complaint was the meat - the turkey was slightly tough and the bacon was served like a cold cut which didn't allow for much texture differentiation or flavor. The avocado was ripe and creamy and the tomatoes were juicy and fresh. I wonder if cooked/crispy bacon would make a difference in flavor and texture? And then just better cuts of that turkey would have elevated the Eddie in my opinion. Keeping in mind that they just opened, I would not count Little Bird off my list, but I do think there are plenty of other good sandwich shops to check out in Minneapolis as well.
