I asked if I could order the burria tacos. She said "to go, to go?" And I said "sure", sat down to wait for my food at the bar. Once my food came, I promptly left. In my car, on the side of the highway, I ate my food. It's all pretty good, though I did find something inedible in the beef. Not the best burria tacos I've had, but still delicious and likely the best in the area. A few weeks later, I decide to give the restaurant another chance and arrived with a friend. The same waitress "greeted" us, and proceeded to deliver the same level of hospitality as before. She left after taking our drink orders and asking if we were ready for food, and a different waitress took over. Large chunks of stewed tomatoes were a clue that the salsa served with the house chips was not fresh. The chicken in the enchiladas verdes were seasoned well and tender. Accompanied by (actual) fresh salsa, avocado, and lettuce, it was tasty. However, the salsa verde tasted like it came out of a jar. For drinks, my companion ordered water while I indulged in a couple margaritas. I tried a regular one, followed by the special wildberry margarita. Both were strong and fresh. My friend received a plastic bottle instead of a glass of water. I'm probably not returning, because of the unwelcoming waitress. I gave them a second chance and received the same response. The food was tasty, but the salsas obviously weren't fresh, which reduces the authenticity.

It is adorned with many taxidermy wildlife, historic pictures, and fun quotes. Fun. This is the place locals go to. Now let's talk food. We generally go For breakfast. Big portions, good prices, and ton of variety. So many southern specialties and freshly made. Their chicken fried steak is always a treat. Very down home country feel and menu. Today we went for lunch. My wife had shrimp and grits. YUMMERs! So good. The flavors coming out of this dish were as good, if not better than any we've had in the Carolinas. I had their chicken salad sandwich. They add bacon and love to this sandwich. I also think they use some dark meat which gives the whole thing a more chickeny taste. So good. It's not a bad place, and I can see why it's popular with locals, but based on this visit the food didn't quite match the atmosphere. I was third in line to order and one of the employee step from behind the counter to expedite my order. Wow, I was impressed at the attention to customer service. I ordered my salad and waited about 10 minutes and my food was delivered to me in the waiting area. The salad was fresh, very tasty and filling, a true Greek salad with all the proper ingredients, cucumbers, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, red onion, hot yellow peppers, tomatoes with a fantastic Greek salad dressing. Generous amount of delicious chicken topped the salad. I speculate that the pizza must be good as many were picking up pizzas to go, so definitely something to try next time. Highly recommended!
