I needed to get the hinges replaced on a noisy inside door of my house (the joys of being a new homeowner), and I got several responses from contractors across Yelp. Andrei's stood out both because it was the lowest price quote, and he had the best reviews of any other respondent. It seemed a little too good to be true, but I figured it was worth taking a chance. I'm glad I did, because Andrei IS too good to be true, and yet he exists. Excellent communication, punctual, thorough and completely self-sufficient, the hinge replacement process started off great. Then, after expertly replacing the hinges, and even sanding a bit at the base of the door where it caused the door to stick when opening and closing, he checked to see how the door opened and closed - the door was now blissfully quiet, but still stuck, and he identified the door latch and plate as needing to be adjusted. Above and beyond! The door works perfectly now, it's literally like a new door. And because the door was to my mother-in-law's bedroom, having Andrei provide this superlative service scored me a few points with her (well, at least for a few hours, until she found something else to grumble about). He also left the space clean, and was very courteous from start to finish. Marlon came to move an upstairs air conditioner to the first floor but discovered it would not fit in the window. Marlon offered some possible options. No charge for the visit even though I wanted to at least give him some gas money. I ordered a unit from the appliance store but they could not deliver for 2 days so I knew 2 tough, hot days were coming. I let Marlon know the situation and he offered to go pick up the unit at the store and install it the same day instead. I canceled the delivery immediately. As promised, Marlon came and did a quick installation, perfect job. As always the price was very fair. The two repairmen, Nas and Kenyatta, are courteous, patient, professional, highly skilled and a pleasure to work with! This time around we needed them to replace the electrical outlets in one bedroom and install a new ceiling light fixture in the basement. Nas went to Home Depot to get the fixture. HD didn't have exactly what we wanted, so Nas called us up from the store and made a recommendation on an LED fixture that turned out to be a significant improvement over our old one. When it came to replacing the electrical outlets in the bedroom, not only did they do a great job on the installation, but they took the time to setup and reboot my parents VOIP phone, which had stopped working when the outlets blew. They also went out of their way to do some wire management on all of the plugs and extension cords coming out of the computer, monitor, modems, etc. They transformed it from a spaghetti mess of wires to a beautiful, streamlined cable wiring setup. They were very responsive and communicated with us clearly when they were going to arrive. The guy that came was very nice, I appreciate that he wore a mask and let us know he was vaccinated without us asking. He asked us questions about what was happening with the dishwasher and explained to us what was happening. I appreciate that he didn't try to sell us expensive repairs. In the long term, the issue was not fixable (the parts are no longer available) but they gave us some other solutions to work around it. They were definitely fair with pricing. They were great and I will definitely be reaching out again.
