Stopped here for some fries. I read mixed reviews online about being gluten-free but I asked at the counter and they confirmed the fries were GF and all but one sauce was too. My dad and I shared a medium fry with bbq and garlic sauce. The line at 5pm on a Wednesday was quite short and we were able to order right away. They have napkins and wooden forks that you can grab. They do not have dedicated seating, but there are city benches right across that you can grab. The fries are one of the best and I didn't have any symptoms after eating.
Back again and had to Manneken Pis frites in Amsterdam. Thai visit we had the medium frites with onion, mayo and ketchup toppings. Delicious to the last frites! 5/5 A must visit when in Amsterdam. Pleasant service and they can explain the variety of toppings available. Easy ordering with 2 lines and 2 lines to pickup your order.
I mean, you kind of have to go here, or at least that's how I felt when I seen the line each time I passed it. Serious FOMO. Have no fear, the line moves quickly and efficiently. The fries were fresh and tasty. Guess when you are that busy, it'd be hard to not keep hot fries. Tons of different sauce combinations. Be careful what you ask for though. Sriracha was in equal parts to the cheese sauce. Oh, mommie! We ordered the large to share and had plenty leftovers. Street food for the win.
Stopped here right as I left Amsterdam Centraal station. I ordered a small fry with truffle mayo and Parmesan cheese. The total came out to 8.95 euros. It was definitely a big portion for sure, enough to even share between 2 people. There was no one there when I went, so I got my order immediately. It was piping hot and so fresh. The fries were crispy and delicious with the Parmesan cheese. The truffle mayo was just okay in my opinion. I've definitely had better. I would go back and try some other sauces next time. Highly recommend coming here.
I saw everyone walking around with these fries in hand, and I thought okay I'm not hungry but maybe now I am lol! There are multiple locations of Manneken Pis, but this one specifically was really organized with their lines. Which was appreciated considering how busy they were, they have one line separate for ordering and one for waiting. The person behind the counter was monitoring the line to make sure no one was cutting too. Anywho, I ordered a small fry with the Amsterdam onion sauce. Delishhhh! The fries couldn't have been more perfectly cooked. I also added some Cajun seasoning , it was a great pair with the sauce. Next time I'd like to try the curry or the cheese sauces , they had so many flavors it was hard to choose. I definitely see why this place is so popular.
Did you even go to Amsterdam if you didn't get some fries to snack on? I'd say no. This place has a line but it's worth it. The fries are fresh, well seasoned and you can add additional seasoning yourself. I got a small with no sauce and it was more than enough for me. Location is easy to find around Centraal area and allows you to snack and explore.
After doing some shopping in the nearby stores, my wife and I were hungry for a snack. On our list of things to try in Amsterdam was the french fries and mayonnaise combination. Ironically, there was the nearby Manneken Pis, which is well-known for this particular snack. Thankfully, the line was fairly short (the Yelp photos that I viewed showed otherwise) and we were able to obtain our orders in less than ten minutes (we both ordered a large fry with the truffle mayonnaise). The fries were extremely hot (just how we prefer them) and the pairing with the mayonnaise was scrumptious. However, the large size was a bit overkill and could have been shared between the two of us. If you're in the area and need a delicious snack, I recommend visiting Manneken Pis.
The frites are quite good, they landed somewhere in that middle ground not being crunchy and not being soggy. It felt less like a famed food stall and more like any corner shop. They do double fry the frites and offer an insane combination of sauces. The fry to sauce ratio was great, they lacked quite a bit on the salt though. If you're down for a fry stop, that being frites, fried cheese, or the other small sides they offer, it is worth a go. If there happens to be a long line, I'd suggest coming directly after they open for short lines, or finding another stall. Good customer service, decent selection of sauces (though no gravy or combination for poutine), and prompt timing. The ambiance is negligible, your standing next to a busy street. So don't go here for date vibes. The sizes are "Americanized" go for a medium if you think you need a large and you will be satisfied, trust me... your eyes are in fact bigger than your stomach here.
Love me some crispy, fluffy frites! You can easily spot this place from the long lines, but it does move along fairly quick. Even during a downpour of rain, people were still lining up here. That's how good it is. Once you're up, be ready to order. We got a small size (€4.25) with Cheese Sauce (+€1.25). Even for a small, this cone of fries came with plenty for the two of us to share. Add some of the seasonings they have on the side as well although only the top part gets any of it. You can't go wrong with some classic frites --yummy and fresh!
Can a heaping cone of fries really be that good? Yes, yes they can :D I got a large fry to split with my mom but we ended up plowing through them while we waited for our other fried snacks to get made. Fries were amazingly fresh, hot, big cut, crispy, well-seasoned, and with tons of sauces to choose from it's definitely a must have! I also got a Bamischijf, Kipcorn, Frikandel, and a Kaassouffle. My favorite was the Bamischijf. That thing was crazy good. I loved the seasoned spicy noodles inside the fried coating. If I'm ever back in Amsterdam, I'd stop her again and probably just get a couple of those! Mom's favorite was the Kaassouffle. She really enjoyed that warm melted cheese. Neither of us were big fans of the Frikandel as it tasted similar to any kind of sausage link you could have in the states. The Kipcorn was a little better in my opinion than the Frikandel but not as good as the Bami. The Kipcorn would have been better if we had some extra dipping sauce though, so if you do get one of those, make a note to get extra sauce for dipping! But between the incredible fries and that Bamischijf, 5/5 all day long. Great place to grab some filling snacks to enjoy as you walk around and explore! Definitely recommend this place.
Steaming, fresh, thick ol' fries in the rain? SIGN ME UP... Was roaming the streets of Netherlands when we saw this crowd in front. Had to see what the hype was about and this was easily worth the hype at 6.5 Euros ( ~$6.93). Satisfying for 3 people. Had it with their house sauce and I believe garlic. Ate it with a cute lil wooden fork. Very quick service. We walked by on another day and the line was triple the length. So glad to have tried it when we did!

After a failed dinner I ended up here and this was a great choice to end my night! I ordered mine with Sriracha truffle, mayo, and garlic sauce and that was a great combination. The line was long but it moved fast. There was a mix up with my fries where it went to someone else so I had to wait for a remake but it didn't take long at all. read more
Fabel and this place are probably the two most popular spots for fries. Can be a bit of a crowd here but the line moves quickly. Fries are made to order but don't take too long to make. They have a good amount of sauces to choose from. We just went with basic mayo in order to have it the "typical" way. The mayo has a little bit of sweetness to it. Fries are meaty and crispy. No place to sit, so stand while you eat. Personally I preferred Fabel for fries. read more

This place was a solid stop for fries. In a busy area so if it's convenient you can go. The line does move on the quicker side. I thought the fries were a little too salty but maybe it was just an over-salted batch. Will definitely fulfill your fries craving. read more

Haven't had these delicious fries since our Brussels' trip many moons ago. It was perfect when we saw this location just around our hotel. The lines look chaotic and long, but they actually move quickly because they have an efficient system. They fried it 2x so it's super crispy on the outside yet still soft and fluffy inside. There's nothing like it here in the US. *sad face* we chose medium size with peanut sauce and there was fries with sauce up til the very last bite of the huge cone. They are very generous with their sauces, so good! Do not miss this! read more

Judging by the long line I though these fries would be god-like level delicious. But, I think it is not as good as the ones from in n out. The medium portion was so huge I felt slightly sick after finishing the whole thing. I guess it's indeed difficult to beat in and out huh. read more
When you're in the Netherlands, you've got to try the fries! This seemed to be one of the most popular, if not the most popular, spot for them. We ordered a large for the two of us with the sauces on top. A large is a lot of fries, so if it's just two people, I think you could get away with a medium. Everything was delicious! read more

I had no idea about Manneken Pis until I was walking from my hotel over to de Bijenkorf and saw the massive line that was outside this stall. Surely then it has to be really good right? A quick Yelp review confirmed that this was worth trying, so I filed it under the memory bank until I was able to make a visit here. Since I was sharing fries with my friend, we got a large fries with truffle mayo. I can see why this place is immensely popular. These might be some of the best fries I've ever had in my life. Overall, the fries themselves are huge! They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. No surprise, as these guys are churning fries out consistently throughout the days so that they are super fresh. And the truffle mayo? Ooooof that's good stuff. Service is great here. Everyone is super nice! They take your order upfront and you wait a little to get your fries. Highly recommended, definitely will come back next time I visit Amsterdam. read more

I mean srsly how can this big Dutch boy resist big Dutch fries on the streets of Holland, right? I read this in a Dutch magazine recently... "The humble Dutch fries. In a nation known for fierce and unadulterated debates, the Dutch will disregard standard social manners in the spirit of the argument. Is Zwarte Piet racist or a nod to Dutch heritage? Does the government interfere too much or too little? Etc. But above all these issues, there is one debate that rages supreme. The debate that divides Dutch friends & fam: Friet versus Patat?!" Ya! The Dutch fries are serious stuff in Amsterdam! So of course when I found myself wandering the streets I decided to stop by the iconic Manneken Pis! I planned to go later in the day, but I was in the area and stumbled upon it with no line! Plans changed as I rushed to get my order in. I'm warmly greeted by the young man that resembled a young Morrissey from the Smiths lol! He did! Big hair too:D Oh my! The fries was easy enough to order, but the sauce! Sweet lord! Over twenty to choose from! I already had Peanut Satay sauce on my mind but decided to have Morrissey chose the second sauce! Belinda... as in Belinda Carlisle lookalike thought I was a Truffle Mayo bloke. Hmm, ok I'll run with it! I was also offered onions on the Dutch fries, but declined and just went with two sauces. I ordered a small size and like many say it's HUGH! As they prepared my order, like in one minute tops, I turn around and suddenly a line of people formed behind me. So lucky I just went with the flow! As busy as it gets, I was honestly surprised how all employees were super nice! Kudos to this location on Damrak in Amsterdam! Yes, there are other locations, but I was told this is the iconic one! Shoutout to my Scandinavian and Dutch sisters! :D Manneken Pis fries firmly in hand it's now the moment of truth! Ohhhh my! Piping hot and fresh. Slight crisp exterior with fluffy interior. Both sauces paired perfectly, however as expected the Peanut Satay sauce just WOWED me! If you can imagine that Thai Satay sauce on Dutch fries! YA! Mmm! In the end, I highly recommend Manneken Pis on Damrak! Just the whole street vibe and located next to the Sex Museum was like whoa where am I? ;D Dutch friendly and at around 5€ euros - cheap! Have you noticed I never used "Friet" or "Patat" only fries because I'm too tired debating the Dutch! Besides I don't want you in a melancholy mood! Luv ya ;) read more

If you love fries, then you should definitely try this place. Yes, there are many places that sell similar stuff, but this was the best one. So good, I came back twice. I'm not a fan of mayo, but definitely try the one with cheese. read more
Fries were okay and the sauces is what was worth it. It was a lot of fries for a small. Nothing super impressed with the fries but their sauces were legit. I guess you pay for the sauce. Always long lines and you better know what you want when you get up there because they are fast! read more
I am a huge french fry fan. I love them thin or steak but they have to have that crispy, salty, bite. These fries are a good. Fresh and hot, you can see them being made directly behind the counter. There are also a ton of sauces to choose from - 26 to be exact. Everything from curry sauce, to cheese, to ketchup, and many types of mayo. There are also 3 sizes of fries you can chose from: small, medium, and large. With so much more I wanted to eat that day I went with small with 2 sauces , ketchup and mayo (keeping it classic) for €5.50. The fries are a solid steak fry. Thick and freshly fried giving it that light crispiness, and light dusting of salt. I would have been happy with plain fires. These fries come in a classic paper cone complete with a tiny wooden fork. Once the 2 sauces are added you have to eat them quickly otherwise they become soft, soggy, wet fries. Not bad, just different. Don't be deterred if there is a line, it moves quickly. If time and stomach space allow, I will try to make it back before I leave town but perhaps just get 1 sauce next time. read more

This place was always busy when we walked past it - especially late at night. But the line moves quickly, so you're at the front within a few minutes. We got the medium size with three sauces - ketchup, truffle mayo, and cheese sauce. It was definitely more than enough to share between two people - I don't think we even finished the whole thing. The fries are super chunky but weren't very crispy as a different places we tried. The ordering system is a little confusing because they don't give you a number, you just have to watch them make it and figure out which one is yours based on the toppings. The cheese sauce sank to the bottom so it was quite difficult to get to, but the truffle mayo was really delicious. It had the right amount of truffle flavor and was very light and fluffy. There's some dry seasonings that add great flavor too. Overall, great snack. read more
First time I saw the line for fries and I was immediately intrigued. Surely there must be something different about these fries other than the cone container and toppings. Oh boy, I certainly was converted. American French fries are horrible and these bad boys are truly an amazing experience, crunchy on the outside, airy, tasty, heavenly. Of course, I try to experience the other spots that sell fries but always go back to this one. And the line speaks for themselves. read more

Walked by this place 8 times the past 2 days , always a long line so we didn't stop. Tonight we got lucky, only 5 people in line. They have 24 sauces. They do offer vegan options and the sauce was great. We got 3 orders. 2 gave it a 4 star and one ( my daughter ) gave it a 10 star. The fries are ok, it's all about the sauce. The size is huge! If you are not sharing I would recommend a small size because it's BIG!!! Definitely worth a visit.. It's basically street food so that's your ambiance. No seating, grab and go. read more
In A Nutshell: -When you are in this part of the world (i.e. Northwest Europe), you need to grab some fries aka frites. -It's the national food of Belgium, luckily they have Manneken Pis here in Amsterdam. -For around 4 to 7 euros, you can get a small, medium or large fries. -I came to this location a couple times, first getting a small, then a large. -If you are solo, a small should be good enough for you, if you are a couple, then a large is plenty to share among two hungry people. -What makes this place special are the wide choices of sauces, there around 20 flavors to choose from. -Manneken Pis is named after the famous bronze statue in Brussels, showcasing a little boy peeing into a fountain. -The 20 flavors are excreted out from mini manneken pis at the street-front store. -The fries come out VERY HOT & TASTY. Overall, there is usually a long line, but the line always moves fast, so it's worth waiting for! read more

The fries taste so good, and the variety of sauce options are very much abundant! The fries put to a cone adds in for a unique experience as well. It's the perfect way to not only grab a nice snack, but also enjoy the full Amsterdam experience! read more
Fries , sauce, in a paper tube- what else do you need? The only hard part is figuring out which sauces to get, just because there are so many. We got garilc (knopflook) and curry sauce. The fries are freshly fried and are the perfect thing on a cold/rainy Dutch night. Very tasty and worth a stop! read more
