I really enjoyed going to manmi bakery over the weekend. Manmi is a local bakery that specializes in korean bread/baked goods/cakes that seems to be run by a family. Sweet potato Bento Cake: 8.5/10 - soft not too sweet. They have a variety of different Korean breads sold here for a fair price compared to all the other cafés around Koreatown. I also bought a green bean bread just to see what it tasted like and was surprised because the taste wasnt too sweet and had a great balance of flavor and sweetness to it. I would rather buy the bread here rather than some other places because some other places are too sweet or too expensive for what it is. Reminds me of the older days. Nostalgic memories. Staff is run by what it seems to be a family and they are so nice and attentive. They have like two tables outside to sit if you wanna dine in. To use a debit card or a credit card your total needs to be $10 or greater Parking - they have a big lot to park in for free.

Manmi Bakery has a nice variety of breads. I just stopped by to grab a few, and everything looked fresh and appealing. It's a nice place for a quick visit, and I'd definitely come back to try more.

chocolate cake, pound cake, fruit bingsu, sprinkle cookies

they have the most authentic bingsu i was surprised how amazing and flavorful it was and all the pastries in the bakery are delicious! 11/10 would recommend to anyone wanting a sweet and well-made treat. the mini cakes and the pound cake were perfect and the owners were very helpful and friendly as well!

Service was very sweet and fast. The butter cookies were my favorite. I forgot most of the names of the breads I got but they were all good. Parking was free and plenty.

Manmi Bakery is located near BDC Tofu in the: Western Plaza Shopping strip mall. This bakery is the second location to their Garden Grove location that's known for : Cream Puffs. Besides their famous cream puffs, their traditional Korean sweet breads and cakes are stellar. My favorites are the Chapssal donuts (chewy rice flours donut ball filled red bean with chestnuts), sweet potato pastry, and Azuki bean sweet bread. The cream puffs are rich and custard filled- heavenly. Cash and Credit accepted . Parking: plenty in a large private lot.

Really a great store! I had to go in early in the morning to pick up a cake for later that night and needed something that would hold. They suggested the cheesecake cake (cake on the bottom, cheesecake on top). It was beautifully decorated. They provided the plastic knife, candles and matches too! Very very complete and thoughtful. They let me pick out 1 pastry as a gift! Everything was freshly made and was super tasty!

Great lil mom-and-pop bakery! Service is great and has a large shared parking lot. This is a no-frills kind of bakery. Generally, what they offer aren't fancy but are solid basic korean-style pastries. I especially like their white bean pastry. And my goodness, they do not skimp on their fillings! Just that alone will have me coming back. Haven't gotten their cakes but they look nice and are fairly priced. They also sell coffee and korean shaved ice, which I'll have to try one day! I'll keep coming back as long as they're open :)

had to pick up a birthday cake and saw this little bakery close by w good reviews! I went in early afternoon on a Monday and there were a few people outside but no one inside. I saw it was a fairly small bakery, but the cake selection was p good! it had a nice quaint feeling of a local bakery which I appreciated. there were also freshly baked breads that were individually wrapped for sale but I was in a bit of a time crunch. there was only one lady working there who was v sweet and patient with me. i took a while to decide since I wasn't sure which flavor to get at first. I ended up choosing the sweet potato one since it was such a unique flavor and it was a hit! the size was perfect and the flavor wasn't too sweet (which is appreciated for asian desserts). the price was fair considering it's a small business and was a decent size (8 slices!) there were also bits of sweet potato in the cake which I surprisingly enjoyed overall a great experience and I would love to support them again when I'm in the area!

Stumbled upon this shop and loved it. I tried some cream puffs which were perfectly filled and easy to stuff whole on my mouth. I picked up some mocha filled bread and cream filled bread as well and loved both. It's not too sweet, soft and moist.

This is my go to bakery for the yummy yellow cream puff. Unfortunately for me, the bread is meh but the custard inside is just so delicious that I'd rather come here and pay money for cream puffs even thought I'm not eating the bread part if that makes any sense lol they really are generous with the filling so it's worth it! I can't compare them to other bakeries when it comes to their cream puff filling! I really tried to love their other bread and tried them but everything else is meh honestly

I came here looking for soborro bread and bought a fee extra. I froze some because I'm too lazy to make the 20 minutes drive to KTown and the defrosted bread tasted just as good! Buy 10 get one 1. All the ladies are really nice. Their cream puff and mocha cake rolls are both delicious as well.

Yesterday, I went there to buy a few slices of cake to celebrate my mom's birthday and Mother's Day. Since my mom has diabetes and needs to control her blood sugar, we didn't buy a whole cake. Instead, we bought two slices of cake (one slice of sweet potato cake, and mocha cake) and two salt bread rolls. I buy bread here often, and I always like this bakery because everything is delicious and the staff is friendly. The garlic cheese bread I had this morning was especially so delicious. When I went there yesterday evening, they told me that donuts, sandwiches, and salt bread were 30% off. I thought about buying a sandwich, but I didn't because the sandwiches had ham in them. Other than this location, I used to go often to the Concerto Bakery inside Hannam Market in Koreatown LA. When you go there in the evening, they sell three or four breads for $10, so I used to buy bread from there often. But recently, some of the bread stayed in the refrigerator for more than two weeks, and I ended up throwing it away. After that, I haven't really been buying bread from that location as much. cf) One downside was that when I asked for paper plates, they said they didn't have any.

They're also very on-trend, whenever a Korean dessert goes viral, they usually have it here. Recently, they even started selling butter tteok, and I heard it was one of the first places to have it in K-town. I highly recommend the salted bread. Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I also tried the Korean chamoe (melon) smoothie, and it was very refreshing. It tasted like they used real melon, since there was a slight natural tanginess that made it even better. There is free parking, though the lot is a bit small. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating, but the seating area is somewhat limited too

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off. I'm not going to pay for food that skims on ingredients and shortchanges customers by charging more for less, so this will be my last visit.

Here are 4 reasons why this bakery is the bomb: 1. Their mango cake. It has actual thinly sliced fresh mango in every bite, something you won't find in most other mango cakes. It stands out from all the other mango cakes I've tried at Korean, Japanese, and Taiwanese bakeries. I can honestly say that it's the best mango cake I've had within this country. Their cakes are also fairly priced and always get a lot of compliments whenever I bring them to birthdays or events. (I prefer their mango cake to their fruit cake, which has tangerines on top. Again, very fresh and delicious cake, but mango takes the cake. ) 2. Their croquettes in the warmer. One thing that makes this bakery unique is that they make croquettes that aren't curry-based, which is rare. Anyone who bakes knows that using curry for flavoring is the easier route, but they've taken the more difficult approach of making meat/ savory-flavored croquettes instead. That alone sets them apart. 3. Their "yetnal kwabaegi," the classic twisted donut dusted with corn powder. It's not the sugar donut we're accustomed to seeing in these other bakeries. This is the only place I've found in CA that makes it this way, just like the street vendors in Korea. It's so fluffy and the bread has this unami flavor that's not found in the sugar - dusted kinds. 4. Their cream bread. It's a solid 10/10. It's soft, fluffy, and melts in your mouth, even after being in the fridge for 3 days. It has yellow custard inside and a shell-like shape. 5. Their sweet potato pastry. It's generously sized, lasts more than two sittings for me, and is fairly priced. It also stores well in the fridge for a while without losing its flavor or texture. I want to know what they do to make their pastries last so well in the fridge. It must be that they use super fresh ingredients. I just wish they had more locations--they currently have four.
