But they seem to have a good flow, so that was a good sign. I let them have a go at my wife's feet. Lisa's a tough girl with manly tough crusty skin on their feet from hard gardening and construction work this summer as we filled the huge in-ground pool. So as Ann was working hard treating, filing, and softening the feet, she constantly asks and checks that my wife was comfortable. Looks like its out of habit. A great sign of attention to detail and customer. Once done, my wife's feet looks like a young ladies' feet once again. Smooth, and very nice to touch, something I wasn't expecting to happen in a single session. Lisa asked Ann if this was one of the worst feet she's ever done. Ann looks up into her eyes to gauge if her feeling would be hurt, and decided to tell Lisa ... "Oh yeah, I've never had to work so hard on feet like these before!" A testament to why I, the husband, insisted on this treatment. I remember my wife having beautify soft feet that just harden up over time due to the nature of the work she does at home. Once that pedi was done, Ann proceeded to offer to do a full manicure but Lisa's moderate, and doesn't want fancy colorful nail. But Ann offer to do a restore service to her once beautiful fingers. To tell you the truth, of the 20 years together, I've not seen my wife's finger nail in such great condition after Ann was done with it. This was something I didn't think was possible. I use to always teased my wife about her ugly finger nails, after seeing the result of Ann's work, I'm dumb strucked. I was tempted to get my restored and cleaned up ... alas, I was out of time, and had to be off to Seattle. If you never really loved your hands or feet before, I suggest you come visit Bill or Ann at Fancy Nail to fall in love with your digits all over again! I always believe that well weathered hands and feet is a sign of strength, but oh boy, does a great manicure and pedicure do wonders for how you feel about yourself.

I am not exaggerating when I say they lightly rubbed both of my calves for a total of 40 seconds- I timed it. The callus removal was like an exfoliation, nothing was really solved there.. $10 for an extra 4 minutes of light service is not worth it. I asked them about it after and they kept saying it's not about the time spent on it. Total for the Gel Pedicure was $65, which is the same as my place in Bellingham Washington, that actually gives you a massage maybe 8 minutes total- for both legs, and a shoulder massage. Bellingham Washington is a relatively expensive area compared to Walla Walla Washington, yet this is the service you get for what you pay. Tell me if this makes any sense.

I came in for a gel pedicure and a French gel manicure. The pedicure was good, thorough, and…read morerelaxing. However, my experience with the manicure left me feeling dismissed, disrespected and uncomfortable. During the manicure, I politely asked if one of the white tips on the French design could be made slightly thinner to better match the others. It was a small correction, not a demand for perfection. Rather than adjusting it, the technician became visibly frustrated, put down his tools, and told me they weren't going to be even anyway, and that I could go elsewhere if I wasn't happy. I tried to calmly explain that I wasn't expecting them to be identical--just that one was noticeably thicker than the others--but he was adamant that they wouldn't be to my liking and repeated that I should go somewhere else. He continued to argue with me and kept repeating that I should go somewhere else, I wasn't going to like his work and they weren't going to be even. As a customer, it felt disrespectful to be shut down and spoken to that way. I believe in giving constructive feedback, but due to how I was treated, I will not be returning to this salon and I will not be recommending it to others. Customer service matters just as much as the service itself
