The first time I had Linda do my nails that was an amazing experience. She was so friendly and did an amazing job for a simple shellac change of colour. Her prices are very affordable compared to others in Markham. The shellac also lasted 4 weeks before one of the fingers lifted which is amazing for shellac and the same lasting power as my regular salon. So I decided to come back and get a change of shellac today. I got another lady to do my nails. She wasn't there last time. She was extremely fast- I was done within 30 minutes which is quick! But I only got a shellac change not a shellac manicure. But the whole time I felt rushed and she wound up cutting my finger (see picture) near the end when filing my fingers. She did apologize but it was clearly bleeding and no rubbing alcohol or anything was applied to it...I immediately went home to wash it obviously. That left a foul taste for me. It was my fault for cheating on my regular salon for a cheaper and closer location. I'm sure if I had Linda it would have been better but after this visit I doubt I will return unless I book with Linda specifcally. Price for shellac change is $20, shellac manicure $30. Her prices are very affordable but hygiene is a concern.

Whenever got my nails done before I found Mu Nails, I do not get it removed because the ladies will thin out my entire nail bed, which prolongs the recovery process. Michelle, on the other hand, uses the tool to gently remove only the parts with gel overlay. This is something I greatly appreciate as my nails grow super slow and I'm a very hands on and athletic person and it's extremely inconvenient when you're stuck with weak and thin nails for 5 to 6 months. When her other co worker came in, she sat right next to us and they started having a whole conversation in mandarin with each other. Her attention to detail is not the best, and when I was told to wash my hands, I noticed one finger had a chip already, and asked her very politely if she can fix that one corner; in mandarin she said I was meddlesome, which is pretty much the same saying in Cantonese, as she proceeded to fix my nail. Maybe if she had paid more attention to her own work and stopped talking and getting distracted with her co worker, then she wouldn't have done such a sloppy job. Now I understand why the other 3-4 nails salons on the same floor were busy, except for this one. Won't be back.
