So even though the actual ice cream quality is better here, I'm rating this place a 4 and Mr. Freeze a 5. If I could only have one of them in Toledo it would be Mr. Freeze for sure. But if I had to pick one of them to supply all the ice cream I could eat for the next year, it would definitely be Handel's. All the hand-drawn pictures to go with the sundaes and the creative sundae names and toppings/mix-ins. Some of the sundaes are the same ones they served 30 years ago, others are new. The portions are huge. If I recall correctly, for a large cone they take it all the way down to the bottom of the machine (although I've never ordered one myself!) The cake sundaes are quart size. I usually go with a small or junior sundae and it's plenty. It's my go-to stop on the way home from Centennial Quarry in the summer, and one of the places that I take friends from out of town to give them a taste of Toledo culture.
