Please share this. AVOID rickshaws and pedicabs in NYC at all costs. My hotel is in midtown on 45th Ave, which is 9 mins cycling distance or 20 mins walk to Broadway. I walked this morning so I knew how exactly close it was. After watching a show on Broadway, I didn't feel like walking and was approached by a rickshaw driver. I saw the sign and thought it was $3.99 per mile. Actually it was $3.99 per minute that's why the rickshaw driver was clocking his timer. He wanted to charge me $120 for a 25 mins ride. I debated with him. I told him it should have been max 15 mins cos I was watching the GPS on my phone the whole time. I called him out for deliberately doing circles. I refused to pay him $120 for a 25 mins ride. I simply didn't have that kind of cash on me, i counter offered $20. At that point, he threatened to call the cops. I got up and started walking. Mind you, because he was going in circles, I had to stop him so I was NOT even at my destination and was still couple blocks away from my hotel. He called the cops, I didn't care and kept walking. He left his rickshaw and started following and blocking me. He said I had to stay and wait for the cops. I insisted that I would pay him $20 not $120. He started pushing me. I walked even faster towards a busier street where there were pedestrians and I yelled at him for pushing and touching me. Finally I got to a busy street, and my hotel was half a block away. I told him, I would pay him $40, and asked him to leave me alone. He said 'No. $50.' By then my hotel was almost in front of me, I said, 'my hotel is just there and we can wait for the cops there'. I declared 'this is the biggest scam for what should have been a $5-10 cab ride'. He backed off. At the very last, he took my $40 and said 'Get the Fxxk out of here'. I will share my experience on Yelp as it should NOT be a 4 star experience per Yelp. Please spread the words to avoid this kind of scam. P.S. do a search on rickshaw scam in NYC - it is out of control.

I loved this, and my hat is off to our driver, who took us from the Broadhurst theatre back to our hotel near Second Ave. His chain slipped off once, but he took care of it, and he had to go up some decent hills to get us home. He limited the chatter, seeing that we really were enjoying the air rushing past us on a perfect romantic evening. I had no idea how much this would cost us, but his price was $15, versus $5-6 for a cab, both prices before tips. He worked hard, so we tipped him good.

It was a bitterly cold day in February in Central Park. Having lived in and around NYC for a good…read morepart of my life. While living there, we never really did anything touristy. We took a short trip to NYC and extended it a few days so we could do just that - play tourist. A Pedicab ride around the park was on my wife's bucket list. I relented, even though I wouldn't say I liked the cold. We found a friendly, enthusiastic driver who explained our options. We selected the one that was right for us, paid, and the ride began. Was the driver knowledgeable? He certainly was when it came to pop culture. He knew enough about John Lennon and Yoko Ono to point out their residence in the Manhattan. He showed us where various films were made, where stars performed, this or that actor's favorite part of the park, etc. When it came to history, which we know a great deal about, his facts weren't always correct, which was a bit troublesome. When we realized we knew more about the park's history than our guide, we were happy with the pop culture and left it at that. I'm sure the caliber of the driver varies from one to the next. I will say he was pleasant and kind. When we entered the cab, he gave us a warm, heated blanket. (Although the cold cut right through it.) Seriously, I would never have chosen to do this on my own. But we did have a good time and got to see things we hadn't seen before. Expensive, but it was worth every penny.

Showed us around Central Park. Was actually nice. Spoke Russian because he said he was from Tajikistan. He offered to take us around Manhattan in the evening and we agreed. He showed us good places . Several weeks passed and he send horrible messages to me! Threatening messages!!!! I am a proud Jew and he knew that. Please, before trusting the business and being nice be aware of who you are trusting! This is scary!

He offers an hour or two hour tour and on the website lists the points of interest you'll see. It's a pedicab ride either through manhattan or Central Park. He offers a military discount of $20 off, be sure to inform him prior if you are eligible. The price listed includes from 1-3 people total (not per person). A group of 4 would require paying for another pedicab. It was a great way to hit the highlights of Central Park without killing your legs or feet! Definitely, worthwhile as you would never be able to cover as much ground if by foot.. We were able to stop and take pictures at most of the areas. Some places they do not stop due to no pedicab parking laws. It was nice that we were able to still see things at night. We wanted to go earlier in the day but our own schedule interfered. An hour of it we saw in daylight and the second hour went into night time. Because of this company we were able to squeeze in Central Park and relax and learn some history along the way! We covered a lot of ground! Russell, our pedicab driver was super sweet and knowledgeable and ensured we were comfortable. The temperatures dropped and he offered coverings for our legs as we were wearing dresses. Russell even took pictures of us for us. He is a very pleasant individual with a good disposition. My sister and I felt they both were very accommodating! We got to meet John in person, because we didn't have enough cash on us and we needed to use our credit card. Russell was able to call him and John met up so that we could swipe our credit card to pay. If you pay online and you are military, he can give a cash refund of the $20. You might want to clarify with him when you book before you do. Great Times, lots of laughs and learning about the history of Central Park! Thanks John and Russell for helping us tour your lovely city! I highly recommend 7evenwheels!!

We started on Central Park Ave with John giving us some background about Trump Plaza, Essex hotel, etc. and then entered Central Park. John answered our questions about history of Central Park, how trees were planted, the tree types, different areas of Central Park, main attractions and even stopped for a 5 min walk/photo stops. Later, he was nice to ride us to Rockefeller Center - the place we were heading next after Central Park. Overall, me and my parents were happy with this 1 Hour pedicab tour and I would recommend John and 7evenWheels to my family and friends.
