I can't believe the two new reviews saying the new ownership is not good. I think Dominick, the previous owner, was great. I feel the new ownership is equal. I see the one reviewer makes an oh what a bagel promotion. My guess is that they are affiliated with them since the Manhattan Bagel people are amazing people and unless you are biased, you would only have positive things to say. am not sure what happened to this location, but it has completely fell off.  This was once my store of choice, and now going further i will not return.   The order I picked up today was horrible. My sandwiches had Ketchup, which was not how I ordered it.  The Bagels were barely Toasted and the porkroll which was requested to be well done, was not.  In addition the Bagels and cream cheese did not have any flavor.  I am very disappointed. read more

While visiting from Florida we stopped in here for breakfast bagels a few times. We had lived in the area for many years so we were familiar with this location. Great service and super fast food. On one day, we placed our order and made sure to tell the person at the front "no ketchup". Yes, for those of you from out of state, ketchup ends up on a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel as a default setting. I know what you're thinking. Me too. This is a regional thing, I'm fairly certain. Well, one of the three days we ended up with ketchup. Yuck. Got home, promptly went back, and they gladly remade our order with apologies. Thank you Dominick. Great service. We were here for the week with a big group of us...went here most mornings for breakfast. Customer service and food were amazing!!! Bagels are awesome! Loved the dark roast coffee! What I did want to rate this store on is their superb customer service and their consistently strong commitment to making every transaction a pleasure. The people were all very friendly, and you could tell that they were genuinely appreciative of our business, whether a large order or a single bagel. As a regular customer at Manhattan Bagel in north jersey, I located this store on yelp during my visit to Bayville, NJ (central) Let me tell you, this store is underrated on yelp. The food was amazing; fresh, hot, and made to order. Customer service is at expert level, so when I inquired, it came out that the store is owner operated. Even though there's sub store next door, the food at this Manhattan Bagel beats all other choices in the area. Highly recommended. read more

Am not a fan of this establishment. Food is not as it used to be. Orders are taken wrong and all the owner could say is that it was an honest mistake. Order was given at least three times and couldn't get any more specific. Then to be told he was confused. Give me a break. It ain't that hard. Coming from the bagel center of the world (nyc) I can say this Manhattan Bagel has fresh delicious bagels. The multi grain has a light honey flavor and is awesome. The lox is some of the best. All the ingredients on the menu are always fresh. I've eaten there often and always find the owner and staff have been nothing but courteous and friendly. read more

I come here fairly often, but it's usually early in the morning when there isn't yet a crowd. I was there today and placed an order for 2 egg & cheese bagels, 1 bagel with cream cheese, and 1 muffin. When it was nearly 20 minutes later, I asked if I was forgotten about, and when I told them what was in my order, they said it was being wrapped up right now. I still didn't have it 4 minutes later, so it was clearly a lie. I got one single "sorry" from the cashier, only after I mentioned how ridiculous it was to wait 20 minutes for bagels. I didn't get a single word of apology from the owner, who was standing right there and was very clearly aware of the situation. We will not be back. Mistakes are one thing, but failure to own a mistake and attempt to make it right are an entirely different problem. That's what made me decide to write this review. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service!!. A few times when I went into this place, I found a customer arguing with the owner. Instead of the owner trying to work things out he would yell back at whomever it was. At the time I figured "ehh not my business" even though the saying goes "the customer is always right." Well my mistake because it wasn't too long until I found myself in a similar position. The owner talks you into buying a meal when it cost $2.40 more than what you want. I have been in there tons of times ordering the same thing paying the same price of $5.29 for a lox, bagel and cream cheese. That is until the owner gets a hold of you! He tells you that the items that come in a meal is "complimentary" and you end up paying $7.69 for a lox, bagel and cream cheese meal which includes the unwanted "complimentary" pickle and side salad. I still have all my receipts showing that I paid $5.29 then tax for a lox, bagel and cream cheese - no meal option. Yet the owner chose to argue with me saying that there is no difference in price, they do not EVER charge $5.29, and that the meal is the only option and the other stuff is complimentary. Meanwhile, again, I have a receipt in hand. So is it possible that his workers do not know that there is not supposed to be any other option but to buy the lox meal? I don't know but that is the owners problem not mine and it is bad business to yell at customers for the ignorance of your employees. The professional, good business mannerism thing to do would have been to say "I apologize for this misunderstanding but unfortunately there is no other option but to get the meal. My employees misrepresented the menu and will be made aware of this. I would like to continue our business relationship - I do see you in here all the time and would hope regardless of the price you are happy with the taste enough to want to come back." Instead I was scolded. I will not be back, nor with my family, my friends, my colleagues and anyone else to whom I associate with. My friends, family, associates and I make it a point to boycott any business that treat either of us in an unfair manner or deliver poor goods. This man does not deserve to have a business. He is ignorant and obviously uneducated. I can only hope that someone else takes over and he loses the business due to lack of clientele for his poor mannerisms and ignorant customer service practice. The owner, some guy maybe 50, is incredibly rude. You think an owner would try to be friendly, but i always find him to be the complete opposite. Also, he always tries to get you to buy more food than what your asking for! It got old, and ill be taking my business somewhere else. read more
