I don't even know where to start since the whole experience was wonderful. First off, the decor is very nice. Clean, modern and tasteful. Next, staff- Excellent. Everyone seems to help each other and they are all pleasant and professional. Finally, the food. Wow is all I can say. Everything that we had was amazing. We were a party of 6, which they accommodated with no issue. We ordered (2) orders of dumplings, a calamari and shrimp in blanket as well as soups. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. We then had 3 orders of Fancy duck, 1 pad Thai, 1 drunken noodle and one seafood dish. So fresh and tasty. The only comment I can make is related to spice. I know Thai food can be very spicy so I ordered my Red Curry Fancy Duck with a spice level of 2, which was great but I would definitely go 3 or 4 next time. Having eaten so much Thai food over time, I think they may have Americanized their spice level for the people who think they can eat spicy food, because American spicy and Thai spicy are very different. We took my dad to Mango Tree for his birthday and it was a great experience. The food was excellent. I had the panang curry with beef (my "usual" Thai order) and it was very good: enough beef, plenty of veggies, and flavorful curry. My dad got "seafood in paradise," which turned out to be a plentiful plate of well prepared sea food in a nice sauce. The real standouts, though, were the appetizers. The fresh spring roll was filled with delicious, fresh, crispy vegetables and tasty dipping sauces. The coconut calamari couldn't have been better... the calamari was perfectly cooked, leaving it juicy and tender, it was fried in a delicious batter and topped with shredded coconut, which really added to the dish. We also tried a special appetizer that was something like a pumpkin fritter: slices of pumpkin fried in batter. It was great. The service was also very good, and we probably weren't the easiest table... we got there kind of late, one member of our party was considerably later, another had special requests, etc. They were very accommodating, and were also friendly, attentive, and pretty quick. The seating area was fairly comfortable. The decor was pleasant. And the prices were reasonable (even though a note apologized that they had just had a small increase). It was $14.95 for the panang with beef. A custom-ordered duck dish was $19.99. The appetizers were less than $10. For those interested: the menu had a good selection of vegetarian options. Amazing service and fantastic food! I always order the fancy duck here. Duck is crispy, and comes with rice and some vegetables. I always ask for the red curry on the side to make sure the duck stays super crispy. Perk you can choose the spice level of the curry. Or pick from the other sauces offered. Our family of 5 was able to come in around 12:30 for lunch with a reservation. When we arrived, the places wasn't too busy but overall it probably can only accommodate about 30 people at a time. We all got the lunch special for $13 that came with a soup, appetizer/salad, and entree. I found each item to be quite tasty. I would definitely go back to try more dishes. Very good local Thai spot. Have not had the pleasure of eating indoors, so cannot speak to the dining experience and service. However, when picking up my order they have been very friendly. The noodles dishes I've tried so far (such as pad see ew and pad kee mao) have been delicious. Good portions of protein and the noodles are cooked well to not be too soft. The curry dishes equally as good. However, I just wish there were more options to get it spicier, although this may be an option indoors. Mango Tree Bistro is located along Ridge Pike in "Norristown," but really it's in Trooper, between Eagleville and West Norriton, along Park Ave. I've never been here personally, I've only ordered take-out during COVID, but thus far, I've been pleasantly surprised! I am a huge fan of Thai food, and I always order the same two dishes the first time I try somewhere new: Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. They're pretty basic dishes, but the variation in their flavor and preparation is absolutely amazing, so I've always found this to be a decent barometer. That being said, the pad Thai was fairly good. I ordered the duck pad Thai, which I've had great luck with at other Thai establishments. Mango Tree's take on it is very unusual per my experience in that they batter the duck. I've never actually seen this before, and personally, I'm not a huge fan of it, but it was still pretty good. Too much cabbage for my taste, but still decent. On the other hand, the pad see ew was quite good. A nice, deep flavor with lots of tender vegetables. Not the best I've had, but one of the better takes on it in the area. I also had the crispy Thai dumplings, which were good enough to be devoured before i could take a photo. Still need to give some of the curry dishes a try, and the evil jungle princess as well, but this seems to be a pretty decent place and definitely worth a shot if you're in the mood for Thai. read more

I ordered pick up and I got the pad thai and the drunken noodles. If you're expecting anything remotely close to a blind person making Thai food, then be my guest, this is a must go-to restaurant. NO! any self respecting human with a palette would NOT go to this restaurant. These dishes were not even made with the authentic types of noodles !! This place BLEW ME AWAY! I had no idea Norristown had Thai food!!! I ordered the tom kha and pad see ew! The soup was hands the best part of my day. It was a cold day and this soup soothed my soul. The pad see ew was just the right size for one person. The noodles were soft and a little chewy. I loved the vegetables and the chicken. It all came together so beautifully. I also tried the green curry which I also loved. The curry had a shuttle tang to it and just a hint of spice. For those who don't like too much spice, this is the curry for you. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I felt it was a little pricey for the size of the portions. So, we are in the area on business and wanted to try a local place. Looking through the reviews, the Mango Tree rose to the top. We were not disappointed. We arrived early for dinner (5:45p) and were seated right away. The entry and dining room were softly lighted with instrumental music playing. Being seated, candles lit each table and an appetizer plate with a pink napkin folded into a rose was at each place setting. We placed an order for Spring rolls and dinner. I also had the coconut soup with chicken. The soup was excellently prepared with sliced mushrooms, coconut milk and chives. I couldn't put the spoon down. For dinner was Panang Curry with chicken. The plating on each order was fantastic with greenery, sliced carrots made into flowers, etc. The meal was served hot with white sticky rice.. very tasty. The spice heat I would rate a 1 or 2 for Thia spice.... Just the right amount. All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for Thai Asian food. My wife and I stopped in here for lunch the other day and this was our first visit to this place. The place isn't very big and they have packed quite a few tables into a relatively small dining area. Hopefully you like who they seat you next to, because you'll be very close to them! They do offer lunch specials at good prices, but what we wanted wasn't on the lunch special menu. We started with the chicken satay and shrimp in a blanket. The chicken satay was good with a nice peanut sauce to dip the chicken in, although still not as good as my Mom can make it! The shrimp in the blanket was just ok and nothing special. For our entrees, we decided to split the pineapple fried rice with chicken (other meat options available) and the cashew chicken. The cashew chicken had one tamale next to it, so I was expecting a little heat, but there was virtually none. Next time, I would probably ask them to crank up the heat a bit. Both dishes were enjoyable, with the fried rice being my favorite. Service was very good throughout our lunch. Because we were sharing the food, we had more plates on our table than it was obviously designed for. It was a little pricey, especially for a lunch, but I walked out full. This is not a place I will likely crave, but I would go back if I was in the area. Each lunch meal comes with an app, soup and an entree. So this is pretty hard to beat. Tried ordering online and the website was having issues. Also the website did not give you the option of selecting the spice level. We called to explain the issues we were having and the lady answering the phone would not honor a coupon saying that it had to be done online. We explained that the website was giving us issues as it was "loading" for over 5 minutes. Not sure what happened to customer service anymore! Will not be ordering from here any longer!!! I am very upset at how many times I've passed it going about my business and never noticed that it was there until the one date night my husband and I try to find Thai food in the area and this place came up on yelp. It's a very small, quaint restaurant but the food is absolutely the best! This is hands-down the best Thai food I have had in a while. The portions are great and the service is as well. Our server was very attentive. I love the ambience in the restaurant where it's not too bright but not very dark. It makes you feel very comfortable and there is ample parking! I think the price is more than reasonable for the portions of the food and the flavor is everything. It was so good we came back a week later with my daughter and again we're not disappointed.
