Sign still says Thai Spice- you're in the right spot. Service was great. Smallish number of tables. Food was fresh and served hot. Nice variety of items on the menu. The appetizer platter was a great chance to try a variety of items. Tom Kah soup was substantial. We had hubo shrimp with the lava curry and pad see-ew. Both were tasty but we didn't realize the shrimp would come with so many veggies (good for me, but maybe not for some) would definitely recommend.

Mammen curry- Red, curry and peanut sauce with broccoli, bell peppers, onions, carrots, potatoes, and pineapple enough said!!

The experience was excellent well presented, well prepared and a nice setting inside. We came about half an hour before closing and very few people in the restaurant. We thought for sure we would get some quick ..."we want to just get out of here after a long day ...and these guys show up right before closing? ..." type of service I was way off !! The host took his time explaining their menu.We enjoyed it so much that we took an extra orde home. Thank you guys

Boon Chu is a new Thai restaurant located in the former Thai Spice location. Currently, it is quite unusual because they still have "Thai Spice" on the building, but I assume that will be changing in the near future. Thai Spice was my reco for the best Thai curries in the area, so I was quite curious to see how Boon Chu did. Well, they did fine! Flavor is still quite good. Consistency as compared to Thai Spice? Slightly thinner. But it's not nearly as thin as basically everyone else. Flavor is still there, and the mouthfeel is quite nice as well. I only tried the Massamun, but i plan to try the others. They still have Khao Soy, which is one of my favorites, so I'm excited to see how that is. Also, there are SO MANY vegetables. Honestly, I liked that! I will say, the potatoes could stand to be cut in half as they were basically quartered potatoes and a little unwieldy, but outside of that, it was a nice change to have lots of vegetables in there. As far as noodle dishes, the pad thai is still great. It is not quite as dry as Thai Spice's, which is nice, but it doesn't have quite as much flavor as theirs did either. And you can't get it with duck. But, it's still quite good, and still one of the best in the area. I think they could put slightly fewer bean sprouts in there though...I'm a fan of bean sprouts, but just way too many. The Pad See Ew is excellent! Again, for those familiar with Thai Spice, TS's had a thin gravy that had huge flavor. This is more traditional, with a sort of "darker" flavor that some people love (like me) or others may not. The noodles are thicker, and there are more vegetables, as with the curries. Personally, I like this version better, but that comes down to personal preference. I'm not sure yet if I prefer this version to Siam Deluxe in Trappe, but it's a good battle. Lastly, the Thai-style sweet and sour. Ok, so I've had traditional TS S+S before, and I've basically never been able to find it since. I've seen lots of different takes on it, and this take is pretty good. Some places bread and deep fry the chicken, this place does not, which absolutely nothing wrong with that. Flavor in the sauce is good, though the sauce is a little thin. I would prefer if they cooked it down a bit so it's a bit thicker, NOT by using a starch to thicken it up, but otherwise, it's not bad. I will probably stick with the traditional Thai noodle dishes over this, but it was worth a try. Overall, great place! I wish they would change their sign because I had no idea they had taken over, hence all the comparisons to the former Thai Spice. But hey, give this place a shot!

I know nothing about Thai food, but this was tremendous. I had chicken with carrots, onions, and pineapple and red peppers. It was awesome highly recommend.

Crab Fried Rice with HUGE chunks of crab meat

The food here is ridiculously amazing! I've been to probably fifty Thai restaurants on both coasts and this restaurant is in my top 2! Everything was cooked to perfection with generous portions. The shrimp were gigantic and the crab fried rice had huge chunks of crab meat in it. I'm really stoked about this place if you can't tell!

Food and staff both great. Hubby and I are both vegan and they had no problem accommodating us. What more can you ask for?

Really good pho! New owners are very nice but they should get a new sign. We will surely return.

One of the best Thai restaurants in the area run by couple originally from Thailand…read more They have lunch specials on select days. I had the Shrimp Thai basil with a chicken curry puff as an appetizer. The curry puff had a super flaky crust and came piping hot. The container was split in 2 section and the Thai Basil noodles were in the larger section and the curry puff in the smaller section. For the $16, it was high quality but I wish the container would have allowed for a little more noodles are they were sooooo good. Over the years I have tried the crab fried rice, drunken noodles, pad thai, curries, etc. Have to try the jumbo crab omelet next to see if it is like the one from Jay-Fai in Bangkok https://guide.michelin.com/us/en/bangkok-region/bangkok/restaurant/jay-fai

It's chicken, ground with a slight curry taste and a little zip of spice. I'd been there a week before for the pad woon sen lunch special. It was good, but could have used more vegetables and this spring roll was included. Of course I ate it in the car on the drive home. Then I couldn't stop thinking about it. So this week I just got the spring rolls, four to an order. Ate one in the car and one at home, dipping sauce was a nice addition. Didn't see it the first time. The other two were like new the next day after a few minutes in the air fryer. Phone order and pickup were seamless. Not that anyone else would know, WinWah in Conshohocken made a curry beef egg roll in the 1980s. Used to be my #1.

It was very greasy, and you better call Sherlock Holmes to investigate where the vegetables are hiding. I basically got a big pile of pink noodles, and not an appetizing one. I had picked it up for takeout, and was so disappointed in it, I had to call them back to let them know how bad it was. The woman on the phone seemed to think it was funny, and laughing told me next time I should ask for extra vegetables. Extra vegetables? How about SOME vegetables! There are about 2 pieces of broccoli in the whole dish and little more! No apologies. No offer to remake it, credit the dish, or anything else. She'll tell the kitchen, and laughed about it! I will not be going back ever again, so there won't be any "next time" to order "extra vegetables." I suggest going elsewhere. Meanwhile I'm going to find some Tums to fight the grease.
