The only remedy they offered was a credit for a future booking. As you can imagine, flights and itinerary for 5 people is not cheap. I'm still trying to get my money back months later.

The man who runs this agency is completely unprofessional and should not be in business. He is…read morelazy, ignorant, and moreover extremely rude. I tried to make a modification to my ticket, more than a month before my departure date, but was unsuccessful in this because of his horrendous customer service. At first I went to his office only to find his underage son at the table and presumably running the place while his airhead father was away. When the owner arrived, he started letting other people there cut in line to receive service first, although they had come after me, and he made no effort to prioritize customers or serve one at a time, bouncing between customers in a confused manner that was sure to cause mistakes. (he also runs a money wiring service, so he was simultaneously helping customers with that while he was also booking tickets. As a side issue, he did not appear to be asking customers for I.D when they were sending money which is likely a violation of federal law and anti-money laundering regulations). After I waited for about thirty minutes, he called me over and only spent about two minutes speaking with me, before ushering me away and telling me he could call me the next day to change my ticket. But he never called, and over the next few days I called him and tried speaking with him over the phone but he would always pick up briefly to say "I'm busy now, I'll call you right back," before hanging up. AND HE WOULD NEVER CALL BACK. I would wait a day or two before calling him again, and it was the same story. When I tried calling the airline directly, they told me they could not handle my booking because it was made through a travel agent and I would have to deal with him. It was a very frustrating situation. After about the sixth time I called him (over several days), he picked up and asked "what did you need again..." and when I reminded him I was trying to make a flight change and told him the details once more, he put me on mute for about five minutes before returning with an outrageously expensive price for the modification (a rerouting). It was clear to me that he did one brief, lazy search and picked the priciest option, and I know had he bothered to spend the time to look he would have found a better deal (isn't that what travel agents are for?), especially since I could see the better prices on my airline's website (I could not change it through there because again, since I had gotten my ticket through a travel agent all changes had to be made through him). When I asked him a few questions and pushed back on this number that he had obviously came up with during the few minutes I was on mute, the owner became very disrespectful, and also insulted me when I asked that he remove himself from my reservation so I could deal directly with the airline (Lufthansa). All in all, this was a very bad experience. I would encourage everyone to AVOID this HORRIBLE travel agent. Go online and buy your ticket(s) yourself, it's probably cheaper that way anyway. And if you want a travel agent in order to have the customer service aspect, look elsewhere because the so-called "Affordable Travel Agency" provides neither affordable tickets nor or a modicum of customer service, and the owner is a complete jerk on top of all that.

Throughout the journey, all the way up to stopping at Elbe on our way out, he talked our ears off, but I could listen to that guy talk all day. He told us historical info about Rainier, stories about his personal life as well as previous experiences doing the same tour I went on. Very open to questions too! Took us to Fred Meyers (Kroger) on the way to the park so we could buy some lunch. Showed us all the cool spots to take photos, was very clear on times to meet back, where to go, and even gave us his phone number in case we needed it for something. Since I went during early april, there was still a lot of snow on the ground. Lucas provided all 20(or so) of us with these shoe attachments called "microspikes", which allowed us to walk on the snow/ice covered ground with relative ease. He even made it work for someone with small feet (a kid). Told us over and over to drink water & be safe and whatever else. So uh, great guy, great amenities, great info, great experience. Be aware that it can easily be missed, but it does have a yellow painted wall similar to that used for their pay-to-rent smarte cartes throughout the arrival and departure areas. My experience was a pleasant one. Given that I hadn't been to Seattle, and it was on my bucket list, it came in handy to have somewhere to drop off my carry-on duffel bag while I explored Seattle on my 8 hour layover. It took some research as this baggage storage area was ran by Ken's Baggage prior to 2016. The price was very convenient, for two overhead sized duffel bags it came out to approximately $18 for whole day storage (this was for 2018/01/04), and Smarte Carte Storage is open almost 24 hours, so you can still access your belongings regardless of when you were to pick them up. However, I do not know if you can add to/access your belongings inbetween drop off and pick up... that would be a good thing to know. The employees were pleasant and patient. Unfortunately, I do not recall the name of the lady who helped store our luggage as we were in a hurry, but Bernard helped us retrieve our luggage.. we also got to see what the storage area looked like in the back, and it is very well organized. They even had a refrigerated area, I'm guessing for any ice boxes carrying any fish/seafood that was caught to be flown out, which was unexpected but I'm sure helpful in many cases. Would I return? Most definitely.
