Jamie is a hustler and a professional, in the best interpretations of each of those words. She helped us turn our fuzzy, vague handwaves about "vibe" and "feel" of our ideal wedding, and turned it into the most incredible (wedding-themed) 2-day, 3-night party we've ever thrown. Whatever roadblocks get thrown into your way, she plows through and *makes it happen*. Any wedding planner working during Covid has to roll with the punches, but Jamie humored us through a few different revisions to the criteria for venue selection, a couple curveballs once we finally found a place we liked (in the middle of nowhere, with no dishwasher on site!), and so many, many harebrained ideas that she helped us filter out or make real. Creative -- delightfully. Organized -- incredibly. Communicative -- consistently (even when she had to chase us down because we were distracted ). Adaptable -- stupendously. Pragmatic -- appropriately. Some of the planners we met early in the process felt like they'd plan a beautiful event, but one that aligned with *their* aesthetic and needs (or a particular trend's), rather than ours. There are many good wedding planners out there. If you want creme de la creme, you should hire Jamie and the Mango Muse Events team. One word of warning is that hiring a good wedding planner doesn't remove the work to plan a good wedding. You still need to make decisions because it is YOUR wedding (and your wedding budget)! But it guarantees that you WILL have a good wedding. And we (me, husband, and guests) had a fantastic wedding weekend. My husband and I had a two day wedding celebration. The second casual "picnic" was arguably more complex despite its deceptively simple appearance due to Jamie having to transform a raw empty space into an event venue. The first day of our wedding went without a hitch. It was shocking how Jamie somehow made herself blend in with the rest of the crowd, yet was everywhere at once to conduct the event. ALL of our vendors complimented me (really, her) that she was the most professional, responsive, and organized planner they had ever worked with. She was so thorough - without Jamie, we are sure that we would have missed many small details that, while they wouldn't have messed up our wedding, made our day all the more presentable and comfortable. The second day (picnic) of our wedding was interesting. It was the day California experienced not any rain, but the crescendo into the historic "bomb cyclone" the following day. Days before our picnic, we had to scrap almost all of our original plan because our venue would have been flooded (and it was indeed underwater by our picnic day). We still don't know how Jamie pulled this off but she managed to transform our alternate venue (an empty cabin) into a spectacular indoor picnic spot. She had to re-do the furniture order and the layout. It worked. And that is without a doubt where I would have completely fallen apart without having Mango Muse. We are so grateful. After Jamie and her team helped with my sister's' wedding, I saw the outcome of their work and as soon as I started my planning process I gave them a call. Jamie is a rock star in the world of wedding planners...like an Adam Levine (minus the falsetto and moves like Jagger) in a world of people that didn't make the cut on the Voice. We came to Jamie relatively late in the wedding planning process, having already signed most of our vendors and just looking for someone to "bring it all together" on the day of the wedding. Sigh...we were so naive back then, not knowing that "bringing it together" was 95% of planning our wedding! Jamie is simply amazing - energetic (but not overly so), creative (but relevant), organized (I don't think she ever forgets a detail), and incredibly hard working (how does she do it?). We especially appreciated her considerate approach throughout the planning process - we were never forced to use one of her ideas, only prodded to make sure we considered the various alternatives before making a decision. She did a fantastic job she did our wedding, everything from initially helping us develop our vision for the wedding to finding creative ways to implement this vision within our budget, to finally executing a flawless wedding and reception. Honestly, I was initially skeptical about the value of a wedding planner beyond "day of coordination", but consider me fully and happily converted. We found Mango Muse through a friend, and Jamie planned our wedding in Mariposa, CA, in the fall of 2019. We got married at the AutoCamp "glampground," which wasn't even built when we booked it. That meant it was the first wedding on the site, and absolutely everything had to be organized and set into motion--tables and chairs, drinks, music, signs, guest arrivals, and every other little thing that you would never think about had to happen. In our opinion, this is where Jamie really shines. She's a master of organization (Google docs for days, communications customized to how we operate best), and put an extremely comprehensive schedule for us to follow in the seven months months leading up to the wedding. She was friendly and patient, even in the face of our indecision, and kept the motor running on all of the planning when we were distracted. busy with other things, or just needed a break from making decisions. Our wedding was in a fairly remote location, and Jamie and her team sourced all of our vendors--no easy feat--and managed communications with them all the way through. I can't count the number of times a vendor told us how impressed they were with Jamie and how easy she made their jobs through her clear instructions and coordination. It felt good to know she was representing us well and making sure everyone involved was on the same page. Any time we hit a bump in the road, Jamie was supportive, willing, and able to tackle the issues and tough conversations head-on so we didn't have to stress. We were able to rest easy knowing being able to trust the Mango Muse team with everything so comprehensively. By the time our wedding weekend arrived, literally everything was checked off our own to-do lists so that we could be present with our friends. My husband and I and our families truly had nothing to worry about except to have fun, take it all in, and celebrate. Jamie's team certainly had a lot on their plates for the weekend but were calm, composed, and operated with such confidence that we couldn't help but feel the same. Jamie is FANTASTIC. During our initial call, she helped us figure out what level of support would suit us best and was open to hearing the specific areas of guidance (event design, vendor coordination, budget management, etc.) that we felt we needed most. When it became apparent that we were looking to move forward with a destination wedding (and would likely be trying to plan a wedding in the Caribbean from California!) my head started spinning with all the options. I truly didn't know where to begin. What island should we focus on? And then beyond that, should we do it at a resort or rent a house on the beach somewhere?? I was overwhelmed, to say the least. So when a co-worker recommended Jamie to help with wedding planning, I was eager to enlist her help. From our first meeting with Jamie, she brought a sense of calm and "we'll figure this out together" and helped put my mind at ease. We initially contracted with Jamie to just have her help with finding and securing a venue---since that was the most immediate and overwhelming step we were facing. I should also mention that my sister (and maid of honor) was expecting a baby in the coming months, and we were under a tight timeline to squeeze in the wedding before she was too far along in her pregnancy to travel. So one of the first things Jamie did was put together a timeline working back from our "hard stop date" based on my sister's pregnancy, and that was tremendously helpful in giving us specific deadlines to aim for with various wedding-related tasks. That also told us roughly how much time we had to find and decide on a venue. We gave her an idea of what we were looking for in a venue, and she went to work sourcing some options. I won't go into a ton of details because it still makes my head spin to think about it (ha!), but Jamie somehow was able to smoothly guide us from the very broad idea of "Caribbean wedding" all the way to selecting a specific island and resort that fit our budget and had everything we wanted. As part of this process, she worked directly with the venues to explore their costs and see if better rates could be negotiated on rooms, etc. as part of a wedding package. So we knew, in making our decision, Jamie had explored all options and we were making the right choice. She shepherded the contract process with the resort and helped get things rolling with the room block for our guests, so people could start booking. Because Jamie was so helpful during that initial phase--and because we had a TON of planning to do in a short period of time--we decided to extend our contract with Jamie to help with planning and procurement for more aspects leading up to the big day, and also to have her onsite to run the show on the day of. She helped with planning some of the design elements (flowers, lighting, decor, floorplan and seating, etc.), and oversaw procuring wonderful vendors for flowers, music, etc. And she continued to serve as the point-of-contact with the venue for everything. I particularly appreciated how willing Jamie was to work with us on budget. We initially didn't budget to spend much on a wedding planner, but her help was SO essential to making this happen, we made room for her in our budget. And she was able to work with us to carve up the to-do list in a way that kept her costs down, but didn't overload me/my fiance with to-do's. (For example, I took on procuring the photographer and officiant, so that kept those off of Jamie's plate and let her focus on the other elements.) Our wedding weekend could not have been more perfect. I'm sure things went wrong (they always do, right?), but I honestly had little/no awareness of it because Jamie handled everything so smoothly. Once we were there, she facilitated everything with the venue and the vendors. She was VERY prepared with schedules, shot list for the photographers, paperwork, back-ups of everything (including specific music we wanted the DJ to play). She was in constant contact with the vendors--and us, for that matter--making sure everyone knew where they needed to be and when. I know the days leading up to your own wedding are typically SUPER stressful, but I have to say ... it was SO CHILL. We decided last minute to get a wedding planner -- best decision ever. Jamie was a great partner in the (very short) lead-up to our wedding, and she REALLY shone during the wedding day itself. Because we got married at a friend's house in the sticks, we had a ridiculous number of vendors. Jamie helped us source everything from forks to lights to power to toilets. We only found out after the wedding that there were a few hitches: the rentals people didn't deliver a table and that the staffing agency sent too few people. No place to sit and no people to serve the booze? That could have a real downer. My wife and I hired Jamie to help plan and coordinate our wedding, and outside of our decision to marry each other, hiring her was the best decision either of us made. Hiring Jamie was the best and easiest decision we made! Planning a wedding is stressful enough, let alone planning a destination wedding in Hawaii when you live in New York. From the initial consultation, we knew that Jamie was very patient, detail-orientated, and really cared about making the wedding a reflection of the couple. Although Jamie is based out of the West Coast, there was never an issue in communication. We were always able to get a hold of her either via e-mail or telephone. We were even able to meet up with her in Hawaii to look at venues and see her when she was in New York as well. From start to finish she assisted with contracts, vendors, vision and day of the wedding services. We had our wedding in Hawaii and she was so helpful in planning from SF. Her knowledge of island vendors was very helpful. However, the best part about using Jamie was her attention to detail. She truly made my vision come true for our wedding. I walked into our reception area and was speechless. It was breathtaking. Everything I could have ever wanted. And, on the day of the wedding, I did not have to worry about a thing. A few tiny issues forwarded right along to Jamie were non-issues. I was able to savor every moment of our day because I knew she had everything under control. Working with one person was so nice. I'd say hiring Jamie to be my wedding planner was the best decision I made throughout the whole process of my wedding planning. My situation was a bit unique because I had only 2 months to plan for my local wedding. Jamie, with her professionalism, knowledge for this industry and flexibility, was able to have my wedding perfectly planned with such short amount of time. She was VERY organized, detail-oriented, and thorough. She guided me through the whole process step by step, patiently, and on a timely manner. She's great at listening to my needs and desires for my dream wedding, but was also being honest about her opinion and suggestion. She's very caring and paid close attention to my thoughts as she always made sure every little thing involved in my wedding was what I wanted and was worth our money. I totally trust Jamie with her selection of vendors and her recommendations because they are all proved to be helpful. For example, at the time I had no idea how much I should expect to pay for beverage at my wedding and was thinking to pay for the expensive per person charge. Jamie suggested that I should think more about the % of people who will be actually be drinking at my wedding and that may make more sense that I go with a per-consumption option. I listened to her and ended up she's so right. I did a calculation and figured I saved at least $1500 on drinks thanks to her suggestion. This is just one of the examples of how well she knows this industry and how caring she's for her clients. Jamie is also very smart and just "gets it". She spent the time to learn about me and my husband and how we wanted our wedding to be.
