If you're looking for a place to celebrate, Mangiami Italiano would not be the place to choose. A group of us had a reservation here one night and we wanted to bring a celebration cake in; however, management refused to let us bring the cake in. After a bit of pleading, they ended up saying we could bring the cake in, but we couldn't eat the cake. Well, what is the point of having a cake sit in front of us that we aren't able to eat? That was enough to turn me off completely, but let me move on to the actual service and food. Our waiter was extremely slow and lifeless. We had to keep asking him for refills all night long. He also didn't bring all of our meals out at the same time, which was weird having to see half of the table with food while the other half stared. I'm not sure why we kept asking the waiter to bring us bread baskets, as the bread was cold and dry. It wasn't worth the carbs at all. I asked if I could order Fettuccine with Salmon since Fettuccine was on their menu and Salmon was a special of the evening and he said no, that there could be no customizations. What restaurant in this day and age doesn't offer special requests? So, I decided to get the Fettuccine with Shrimp and it was the worst mistake of my life. The bland Alfredo Sauce was so rich and thick that even the pasta couldn't hold the cream sauce well. But, what was worst is that my shrimp were not cooked all the way. After eating 1.5 shrimp, I realized they were raw inside and I didn't bother eating anymore of the shrimp. I regret not sending the entire entrée back because the next morning, I was sick as a dog, having to go in and out of the bathroom. I knew it was my dish since no one else got sick. All in all, I wouldn't rush to come back here. The service needs a lot of improvement and the food is anything but thrilling.

Stopped in pre-show which was at nearby Cafe Carpe. So close by and as it turns out good solid Italian fare. Had the Arrabiata--yep, solid, not at the edge of greatness, but good. Service did the trick in terms of getting us well served and out the door on our way as we wanted.

Muscles (not the best I've ever had but full and meaty)

Good food, average service, overpriced. Always seems understaffed. For the price of the food expected staff to be more attentive.

Went to Fanatico due to their ability to accommodate vegan foods. Both vegans and nonvegans in our…read moreparty appreciated the food and service. The oil for the bread dipping could've been spicier, but the bread itself was warm and well-textured and the dinners were delicious and just the perfect amount of food: not too much, not too little. We were pleasantly satiated. Would recommend.

First time here. We came to town to see a show at the UWW Young Theatre…read more Food: The menu offers a great selection of beverages and classic Italian dishes. With Valentine's Day approaching, they also had some special drinks. I ordered the "Italian Connection," a simple cocktail made with brandy, amaretto, and Bordeaux cherries. It both smelled and tasted wonderful. Complimentary breadsticks were brought out along with plates of olive oil and parmesan. They arrived nice and warm, and more were brought out during the meal. Knowing the entrées were generously sized and that we wanted dessert, we skipped appetizers. Our entrées also came with salads. The four of us ordered Chicken Piccata, Puttanesca with Meatballs, Portobello Ravioli, and Chicken Francese. The salads were good, though not exceptional. My Puttanesca was a bit spicier than expected, but it was excellent. The meatball was firm, the sauce slightly chunky, everything was served hot, and the portions were generous. I also sampled the Chicken Piccata and Chicken Francese, both of which were extremely tender and very flavorful. Since we saved room for dessert, we ordered the Peanut Butter Cheesecake and the Lemon Berry Mascarpone Cake. Both were very good and a nice way to finish the meal. Service: From the time we arrived until we left, we were well taken care of. We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server, Anna, was friendly, knowledgeable, and very attentive, with lots of genuine smiles and conversation. There was always someone checking on water refills and bringing extra breadsticks. My one complaint was the pacing of the meal. We were in no hurry and specifically mentioned at the beginning that we wanted a relaxed experience. That was going well until our entrées arrived while we were still in the middle of our salads. Our server apologized, but there was simply too much food to fit on the table. Some of us quickly finished our salads to make room, which was exactly what we were hoping to avoid. Atmosphere: The restaurant is located in a small indoor mall in the "downtown" area, alongside other restaurants and businesses. You enter through the mall, where there are some dining tables, and then into the restaurant itself, where we were seated. Inside, the restaurant is set up with tables that have views of the street and offers a nice, relaxing ambiance. While we were there, the restaurant became quite busy. It was noisy, but we were still able to have conversations. The temperature inside the restaurant was comfortable, though the mall area felt a bit cool for diners seated there. Overall, it was a very good experience. I would have appreciated the pacing of the food to better match the relaxed atmosphere, especially since I had mentioned that preference at the start of the meal. Nice people, excellent food, inventive drinks, and a comfortable environment. I would definitely stop again.

Friendly server took our orders and the drinks and food came out timely. Our loaded nachos were good, though the nacho cheese was a bit runny and pooled in the bottom. My grandsons loved their pepperoni calzone and Mac and cheese. My personal pan Meathead pizza was very good; tasty with a nice crisp crust. My wife enjoyed her chicken Tuscany pizza. Both personal pizzas were bigger than expected and very filling. Would definitely stop in again if in the area.

It was way way way too salty, but the worst part was the meat in the sauce. It looked, smelled, and tasted terrible. Consistency of dog food, terrible taste. I called the restaurant and let them know. They said they'd reimburse the cost of the lasagna but I haven't seen it yet (2 days later). UPDATE: They did reimburse the cost of the lasagna, which I appreciate. I don't usually write such negative reviews but I'd hate for anyone else to waste their money on this. I'm not super picky but this was simply not edible. My husband's chicken Parmesan was okay (not great, but okay), salads were okay (again, not great but okay). I've never had their pizza. Maybe that's better, but anything that uses the same sauce as in the lasagna is NOT going to be edible. Find another place to eat. I won't be going back here.

Thankfully, we were seated right away. We were served water and a wonderful tray of bread and focaccia with marinara -- everything was delicious, especially the sauce. (OMG!) We explained to the waitress that we wanted to also order an entree to go, and asked for the best timing to do so. Our waitress remembered this and returned at the perfect time to take that order -- rigatoni with marinara and meatballs. We had a 30 mile trip home and the dish was still warm when we arrived! It did take a while for our food to arrive. We were a little concerned because we did not want to drive home in the dark. Our food was very good when it arrived -- the Chicken Vesuvio was amazing, and the leftovers are even better today. Our family member liked the Alfredo, but thought it was a little watery. We were too full for dessert, but carried out a tiramisu. This was also delicious. The dining areas are Italian styled supper club. We were seated to the left of the bar. It looked like the dining area to the right of the bar was a little nicer, but again, we did not have reservations. We were appreciative of the table we were given. Some updates are needed, but we were comfortable. The service was amazing. The host/hostess was friendly and welcoming. The waitress was terrific. The bus boys deserve a special mention -- they were back and forth with water multiple times, and one even offered additional bread to soak up the Alfredo sauce. They were humorous and kind and for being so young, they were very professional--said how much fun it was to work there. (They deserve some special kudos!) Overall, this was a wonderful stop. We'll be back and will try other dishes. We hear that the vodka sauce is also amazing.
