Ordered from here for take out, specifically the Lamb Lula. Absolutely nasty. How can lamb be so dry, so flavorless, so burnt? It feels like I'm biting into a rock. Came here for lunch on a Friday with coworkers. They have a solid lunch menu consisting of platters, pitas and some sort of Turkish flatbread that's similar to a wrap. They have all types of kabobs and shawarma and vegetarian items as well. I had the lamb and I believe chicken mixed shawarma that was very flavorful in a pita the Israeli way. It was good but I didn't love the red sauce inside. My coworkers got the lentil soup, which looked and smelled amazing, and also the brisket that also looked delicious. The restaurant also has a large selection of homemade desserts. We tried the honey cake, the chocolate honey cake, and the napoleon. The honey cake and chocolate honey cake were AMAZING! I personally have never tried desserts so unique and delicious in flavor. Highly recommend the desserts. I will likely order them for events in the future... that's how good they are. Lastly, service was excellent. My water was always full and the waitress was kind and helpful. The restaurant is also very clean and you can see into the kitchen. This is such an incredible restaurant and Carlos has provided such an excellent service. The food was amazing and such a beautiful ambiance. This place was pretty good. Our server, Daniel, was friendly and helpful. I wanted a beer but didn't know which one I wanted of their three German options, so he gave me his recommendation (Spaten) and it hit the spot. For dinner I got a shawarma platter of lamb and chicken, with rice. It was mostly lamb, but both meats were good. I liked the lamb more, so I was happy that was the majority. The rice was pretty flavorful too, and the side salad it comes on/with paired nicely with it. My wife got the shakshuka shawarma, because she loves shakshuka. It was pretty good! It was interesting and different compared to the other shakshuka we have had, since it was topped with lamb, but it worked. The lavash it came with was OK, but the main dish was still really good. The food was good, the service was good, and the prices were good, but there are two reasons for this review being four stars instead of five. First, the water service could have been better. They only give water when requested, which is fine because I'm all for saving water, but they only give a very small cup, and in a disposable cup. It was just odd to not have a normal glass of water with dinner. Second, the timing of the food coming out was not great. My wife's shakshuka took a bit to cook (as it should since it takes some time when made fresh), but my shawarma plate came out nearly right away. It makes sense that mine came out so quick, since shawarma is a quick dish to prepare, but since it is so quick, they should have waited until closer to when my wife's dish was ready. Instead, I sat awkwardly waiting, letting it cool, then we decided I should eat it instead of waiting, and then I was almost done by the time she got her dinner. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in town. And if they iron out the water and timing issues, it will be five stars next time! read more

I've tried a good share of Mediterranean restaurant and I think this one has an interesting flare to their menu. They not only offer European style but they also offer Turkish and Israeli style flavors. Instead of just pita bread, they offer lavash which is a thin pita like bread that has a bit of crunch. We ordered the lavash chicken and lamb shawarma which was not overly filling in comparison to if it was in a pita. We also ordered the potatoes and mushrooms and I would give it a chef's kiss. I love how the rosemary flavor is palpable and not overpowering. The cake of the day was the cherry on top as it was a pomegranate layered cake. Seems like it was a cookie crust layer but I'm not sure. Overall, the staff was friendly and I would recommend again because it's a family own shop! read more

Some of the flavors were good, but I don't understand the good reviews tbh. We were a party of 4. 2 dishes had mistakes and a third came out a solid 15min before the rest. The rest of the food wasn't late either -- it actually came out when they said it would, so I guess they just thought she'd enjoy eating alone and then sitting there watching us eat? We asked for more lavash chips and were told they ran out. Fair enough, but it was 6pm on a Saturday -- no patrons after that were getting chips? The "ayran" is super salty and tastes like liquid cheese. I've never had it before so maybe that's what it's supposed to taste like, but I figured "the national drink of Turkey" would be a little more generally appealing, yet every person at our table recoiled at the taste (and 2 of us tasted it without hearing any other opinions first). I just can't imagine any culture in the world drinking a beverage that salty and savory. It unironically would work great as a sauce on your sandwich. I swear it's like being served a cup of tzatziki and being told to drink it. The falafel was far and away the worst I've ever had in my life -- dense and chewy Each plate comes with two soggy steak fries for some reason. Not a single person at the table ate them, including my french fry-obsessed toddler We sat outside so the ambience was basically "parking lot". A woman parked behind our table and tried yelling from her car window for her pickup order. That one's not the restaurant's fault but Yelp asked what the ambience was like so there it is lol They also build in an 18% service charge for all dine-in orders (small print at the bottom of the menu) and then still prompt you for a tip at checkout, with the lowest suggested option being 10%. Not the end of the world but pretty tacky imo. I tip minimum 20% even for bad service but tonight we were comfortable leaving it at 18. I would not recommend this place to anyone I cared about. AMAZING! If you like to eat Mediterranean food, I have the place for you. Mangal on 17066 Collin's Ave., is the place. By happenstance, I went into the parking lot of this strip mall and parked in front of this restaurant. The best decision was going in. Carlos took amazing care us. He was extremely detailed explaining the different foods and their preparation. The ambiance of the place is nice with great music and vibe. We first got some hummus and some kibble. The kibble were just like my mom used to make and the hummus took me back to Israel. The shawarmas were delectable with your choice of European, Israeli or Turkish preparation. We visit this restaurant on Saturday night while vacationing in Florida.The staff worked very hard to keep up with patrons demands, but the food was a disappointment. The soup kharcho was served cold, had to ask our server to heat it up. The mangal salad was not fresh, tasted like it was sitting in refrigerator for days. The lamb kabab was not cooked to order. Right off the bat, i had high hopes for this spot, but it failed. The food was ok. The service was not ok , the waiters are a bit slow and the menu needs to be updated. The menu says a salad is 9.90 and instead they are charging $1 more. They also charge automatic tip 18% for 1-2 ppl dining and credit card extra charge. read more

This place used to be excellent under the old ownership. The new owners took over less than a year ago I believe and from our experience the meat portions got smaller and the meat was not very tender as it used to be under the old ownership. We have been there twice recently and maybe will give them another try. Right next door is Baku which has pretty much the same food but larger portions and top top in every regard. Very difficult to be next to baku and charge pretty much the same prices. Hopefully Mangal makes some changes to step up their game. read more

Terrible experience. I visited this place with my friends and was completely disappointed with both the food and the way the owner, Adam, handled the situation. We ordered six plates of shish kebab--four were average, but the two with dark meat chicken were completely inedible and didn't smell fresh at all. When we informed the waiter and asked them to try it themselves, instead of addressing the issue, Adam started yelling and even stepped outside to confront our group.
