I turned on my furnace this year and it didn't work - again. So I called another company to look at my furnace this time. I was told that the ignitor put in last March was the wrong voltage - that it was an 80V instead of 120V. After doing some research I discovered that the 120V was the correct voltage because the furnace's board was replaced (by Billy) in December; otherwise the 80V would have been correct. Seemed like an honest mistake, so I called Billy to ask him to install the correct part. Instead of apologizing for installing the wrong part, he took no responsibility for the error. He said it was an honest mistake that he was given the wrong part. I agreed, but explained that I shouldn't have to pay for the same service again because he installed the wrong part and that he should make it right. By this time, he was SHOUTING at me over the phone that it wasn't his fault and that it was over the 30 day labor warranty. He was yelling at me and acting as though I was being unreasonable by asking him to install the correct part. He finally yelled that if it would "appease" me, I could send him the bill for the labor for the repairs and he would reimburse me for the labor. That I could send the wrong part that he installed back to the parts company as it was under warranty. By this time I told him I didn't like how he was speaking to me and hung up. It is inconceivable to me that an HVAC professional would install the wrong part and then become angry when asked to correct his mistake. I would recommend that you use another company if you need HVAC work and ensure that they stand by their work. People make mistakes, we all do, but how you react in those instances is a matter of character. Billy reacted poorly.

It went out our first winter and they sent someone over and were able to do a quick fix but said that likely a part is bad and needs to be replaced, but they never replaced it, and hung up on us multiple times when trying to get them to fix the underlying issue. The next year the same thing happened and furnace went out in the middle of winter and they did the same quick fix but refused to fix the underlying issue. We are now on year 4 and each year the same thing happens and the furnace goes out. This year they just asked me to call another HVAC company to fix their underlying problem. What? At this point that's what I'm doing because I'm tired of fighting with Ted to come out and fix the underlying issue and our heater going out every single year. Yes, they are cheaper than other companies, but with such poor quality product and work.. it's not worth it.

Roofers continued to try and find leaks. They spent many days hours trying to fix the issue. On the last trip out they sent a new guy that inspected the two HVAC units that were installed by Willamette HVAC. He should me screws and bolts missing from lower pan areas and holes where he said water was getting in to the building. I had him seal all holes in units. Then called Willamette to show them where it had been leaking for all this time. They said they could re-seal it. and gave us a quote to do it. Never did any actual work. But we received a bill.... It had already been re-sealed by the roofers...They should have fixed this when we called them on it the first time. They would just blame the roofers. The issue was from day one and they would not take responsibility for their mistake. Do not waste your time with them.

Five years…read moreand three weeks after they installed my AC unit, it failed, due to a faulty coil (that could only handle so many pounds of pressure that had been increased (by two times) to comply with industry standards, but without fortifying the coil); this added stress in the system, causing multiple ruptures--that leaked ALL the coolant. So basically I now have a $5K fan. This contractor did not file my warranty paperwork with the manufacturer; the "five year" warranty expired just weeks earlier, and the manufacturer chose to ignore / void; it would have been a 10-year warranty, had Frank's done their job and filed my paperwork with the manufacturer. I was crushed. Frank's sons did the work, and Frank had to come out three times to service it to keep it working. I think he knew it would fail, ultimately, and felt bad. The family (Frank and sons) have been out of business since a few years after they installed this unit, for which I paid over $5,200. As a new homeowner without a lot of experience, I thought they were great, but unfortunately, the failed part caused the AC unit to blow warm air. It was a known issue with the part, which is probably why the deal was so agreeable. They left exposed hoses and pipes everywhere, without taping things off. I had to fix a bunch of things that looked awful (by taping them and securing them from hanging from the ceiling and walls). Although they were timely and easy to work with, I've had a broken AC unit for several years, and they're not only no longer in business and unreachable: the unit will cost more to repair than replace. I was utterly grief-stricken over this. Never again with these people. Avoid them. AVOID THEM.
