Dominique is a very knowledgeable and detailed hair stylist. I love that she focuses on educating me about my hair and how to care for it in addition to treating/styling it. She is efficient with her time to get me in and out (huge plus for me) but also friendly and personable. She has products available for me to purchase if I'd like to continue styles and performs regular goal checks to see if my hair is doing what we want it to. Honestly I am very disappointed with her lack of understanding and professionalism. I don't leave reviews often; so this is definitely an indicator of me being upset about the situation. I am going on a loc journey, and it has been a rough one. I found Dominique and I initially was like wow she knows what she is doing and has a good personality. I can see myself going to her for the long run. I always come, I always tip, and when she used to double book or run late, I waited patiently. So imagine my surprise when I was not treated with the same understanding and courtesy. Respect for time and money goes both ways. I don't know what happended, but she just started to change- in a bad way... First incident that made me almost leave her alone was the fact that I came in for my appointment and someone called me at the same time. I wanted to let her know I was there. I walked in on the phone, and she immediately told me I can go outside until I get off the phone, while still working on a client into my appointment block. Mind you, I have seen her on the phone, multiple clients on the phone, and she does not have sign stating phones are not allowed. I was annoyed and offended because her tact and candor was just all the way off. The final offense was recently, post covid lock down. I scheduled an appointment for faux locs over my own to give me a little length during my journey. I decided to reschedule it because I realized that my hair was really grown out, and I wanted to do a detox and retwist first. So that was TWO appointments. The day of my retwist. I completely overslept well beyond my appointment- my fault. I was honest with her, I told her I was sorry and to keep my deposit which practically covered the cost of my appointment, for the inconvenience. In return I was told she would pray for me and I was blocked for 90 days. So let me get this straight, we are one and done?! You can do whatever you want, I accidentally overslept, compensated you, and you still put me on some type of probation? The gaul of you... My hair is a mess, overdue 2 months because of the shut down, and you do an additional 90 days! I'm good... I won't be waiting for you. If you keep that energy, you are going to lose more clients than me. You let $500 and someone who would repeatedly bring you my personal business and referrals out the door. Thankfully I found someone else, I will give my hard earned coin to someone else. read more

I was initially excited to find someone who would help me get my natural hair healthy after years of me treating it badly. Went to my first appt with her and I was truly happy with my service. I wanted to book again- so I messaged her in IG to ask her what specific service she recommended I book. She left me on read. . A part of me wanted to keep it moving bc I don't have time for ppl who don't have time to respond to me. But I really wanted to keep going back to her so I called some number listed on the website (302) i-want- d-d. That number was not working . I wrote her back again on IG and she responded letting me know what treatment I needed to book. I go on the website from my phone and her website wasnt working, it wasn't showing anything past 3 PM. I thought maybe bc I'm accessing it from my phone, is the reason it's not working, so once I got to work I logged on from a work computer and it was the same thing. I honestly thought I was doing her a solid by letting her know her system was glitching. I wanted her to fix her website so that other people could book with no problems. Anyway, I wanted the last appointment of the day because I needed to finish work, and drive to her spot. 5:30 (the time she scheduled the appt for) wouldn't have worked out. I know when I was sitting there the first time, she did not say she closes at 530, and also google says she closes at 7pm. So I kept trying to tell her I need the last appt of the day. What she said previously wasn't adding up with the appt slot she was offering me. And since her website wasn't working, I wasn't able to go in there and see a time that worked best for me. Apparently I was annoying her because after going back and forth with her she eventually said something along the lines of 530 is the last appt so that she can be home by 7. And "what time do you want to come. I'm tired of coming back to this conversation" That took me out. I needed to bounce the conversation off some friends to see if I was tripping or not. If maybe I had done something to her to make her get that sort of attitude. They said she was the one that was tripping. Regardless of who was at fault or if I was being annoying I work way to hard for my money to give it to someone who is going to talk to me sideways. This is Dallas and there are wayyy more hairstylists to choose from than where I just moved from. Her spot was just at a convenient location. read more
