I had wanted a perm & color but since my home-dye-job damaged my hair, they explained to me how that would damage my hair further. I was grateful for the consideration & learned more about hair care. And the salon was clean, tidy, & welcoming. [BTW, during another hair consultation with a Plano salon - which was loud & rude, they wouldn't explain to me why my request was not doable; the stylist pulled my hair & yelled in Chinese. All his translator would say is "not possible" which offended me because I kept asking why] At MiMi Salon, Roy is so patient & skilled with cutting, coloring, & styling. Roy is a magician with hair! He also speaks Cantonese. Annie was fantastic with helping me explain my desired vision. This is SPECIFICALLY what I wanted! I love how the Violet-blue melts into my black hair. This team brought back my faith in salons. (Over the past 20 years I went to a salon 5 times with "meh"satisfaction & 0 results I loved.) They even taught me about hair care! They are MY new stylists! Thank you, Jesus for great professionals

Being new to Dallas I had no idea who to go to and decided to yelp it. Found JT hair lab and after going through the reviews I decided to come to her. Couldn't be happier! Jenny was so throughout and professional. She evaluated my hair and gave me step by step procedure how she would fix it and bring it to where I would want it. I didn't expect to make it happen in one try (the before picture would explain why) - but she made it happen !!!! And she always inform you before she goes into the next step. We spent 7hrs and the result is amazing. After all that my hair still healthy, smooth and shiny. I have nothing to say but highly recommended Jenny if you are very selective of your hair stylist, give her a try you won't regret it.

A few weeks ago, after reading the reviews and having been familiar with the Frederic Fekkai…read moresalons, I came for a 1" trim to my long-time, blunt-cut, medium-length (3 inches below the chin), slightly angled bob, beveled a bit underneath at the nape. It was quickly dried and styled in center or side parts, with lots of volume, lift and swing. Elegant and easy. Derek said he couldn't understand me. I should have left immediately. What I have now is an inexplicable cut, 2-5 " off, barely chin length, huge amounts of hair removed, wispy layers everywhere, and texturizing. He has activated a mass of waves and curls never seen before. From the front, the shape is a cartoonish wide diamond. From the sides, a fat wedge. This is the opposite of what is required for copious, European, fine, porous hair with a nape curl and minimal wave. Derek basically has created a White girl Afro. He somehow dried it beautifully, disguising the weird architectural structure by using a tiny brush on myriad narrow strands, drying them straight, and contorting them via elaborate manual sculpting techniques, product and nearly an hour of work. Maybe he planned to do twice-weekly blowdries on it. I have spent many days and dollars elsewhere experimenting with product, techniques and professional advice while attempting to cope. Derek pleasantly refunded the charges and apologized for the "inconvenience." This is far worse than inconvenient.

Unfortunately, the haircut I received from the owner was very basic and not what I asked for. I even provided two pics of what I was looking to achieve- failed miserably. I was especially disappointed with the scissor work and overall technique. Clippers were used on the back of my hair, which I initially assumed was part of creating some shape, but there really wasn't any layering or noticeable effort to add movement or texture. The end result felt more like a basic cut than a thoughtfully shaped haircut. Considering the owner has been cutting hair for some time, I expected a stronger understanding of basic scissor techniques and layering. In my experience, the skill level just wasn't there for the type of cut I was requesting. Ultimately, you get what you pay for, and unfortunately I left disappointed.

She at least did give me a discount but she also wasn't honest about charging per hour and I asked her how much would it cost before the appointment and she said $210 and she tried to charge me $500 then when I told her I wasn't happy about my hair she changed it and charged me only $350.
