At the end of the trampoline there's a huge pit filled with hundreds of foam blocks. Oh my goodness, so much fun!! Yes, I've been on it several times. :) Try and go bouncing down that trampoline and jumping into those foam blocks without a huge smile on your face, I dare you. I can't be done. It's impossible not to be happy doing that. They also give wonderful birthday parties for children. For $150 you get the entire gym to yourself, all paper products and utensils, and two party workers to entertain and supervise your child and their guests. You provide the food and drinks as well as the cake. Not too bad. You don't have to lift a finger at the party if you don't want to. The party workers handle everything. The other wonderful thing about Gymnastics Plus? Kids Night Out. Every Friday night from 6-10 PM you can drop your kids off for cheaper than what it costs to get a sitter. They play and watch movies, make crafts and are even served a pizza dinner. They are completely worn out when you pick them up and beg to go back as soon as they leave. I first took my son here in June or July for the swimming lessons. They said that the person that was supposed to do the classes had an injury so they had different teachers. It was a week long session for 40 minutes in the morning. My son is 2 and a bit and these lessons were advertised as specifically being for his age group. When I got there for the first lesson I met the teachers. They were 3 young girls maybe between 17 and 21 (I'm guessing). It didn't matter though as I assumed that they would have been through some special training on how to teach this age group. They were lovely girls but it was a waste of time. They didn't know how to deal with the children and I just taught my son myself at home. They are probably good for older children but not the younger ones. Following this I decided to enroll my son in a me and my shadow gymnastics class. He's very agile and always jumping around like a monkey so I thought it would be great for him. The teacher Tori was really nice, great with the kids and good at gymnastics. My son really wasn't getting anything out of it though. He didn't enjoy it at all. Then one evening I went there and Tori had sprained her ankle so they said another girl would take the class. She wasn't great with the children, didn't have a plan, was bored and constantly looking at her watch. The class ended early and was pointless. I decided that this wasn't working. I gave it a fair shot of 3 months. I emailed about 2 weeks before the month was starting to let them know that we wouldn't be continuing and was told that I would have to pay for the following month anyway. I don't remember reading this but oh well! Today they called me because when they they went to run my card it said it was invalid. She started talking to me like I was a child and telling me about a $25 fee. I told her that we wouldn't be bringing him back anyway and this seemed to confuse her. I feel like they are greedy and probably good for older children but they arent really great for the younger ones.

The fact that Franco's got my original review taken down instead of absorbing the feedback and addressing safety concerns shows they care more about their reputation than safety. I stand by my original review... I'd like to reiterate, please enter at your own risk. There are trainers and employees who are not vaxxed and working closely indoors with members in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who could be at risk because of the selfishness and irresponsibility of Franco's, it's staff, and policies. Is there a vaccine mandate in Mandeville? No. Can businesses implement one? Yes. In my opinion, to hide behind the, "no mandate" defense is lazy and puts profits before safety. We were incredibly disappointed and horrified to learn one of the trainers who works with my elderly members including my dad, had Covid and was unvaxxed. How many days do you think this trainer showed up to work as a carrier before testing positive? It's unclear and scary to think about. Of course getting Covid isn't anyone's fault... But to knowingly and willingly go to work in an indoor environment with people who are elderly and choose not to be vaccinated, all with permission of your employer, is dangerous. I don't think it's unfair or unkind to warn people of a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment. I'd like to offer a suggestion - if you are not going to require vaccinations of your staff, I'd recommend only having those trainers who are vaccinated, teach/train members 60+.

The lazy river is artfully done, giving a nod to Louisiana wildlife and nature areas. There are a lot of skillful and friendly lifeguards around the area. There are several different food pavilions, restrooms, locker areas, and areas to sit. There is also a fun water slide, giving homage to the infamous alligators with albinism who have taken residence at the Zoo and Aquarium over the years. This would be a fun place to relax with your kids during one of the summer sessions. My friends and I attending the adults-only Sip and Dip event held on Fridays during the summer. It was very affordable for a private cabana for six with early access. Be sure to reserve your tickets for the event early online as it does sell out. It got a bit crowded toward the end, and they did run out of regular floats, though some preferred the thick floating noodles offered. Every Friday night has a different theme, so there is something for everyone. They bring in Dickie Brennans for the bar, and they were wonderful with decently priced drinks and quality alcohol. They were also creating with the mocktails. I certainly will return for another Sip and Dip either later this summer, if able, or next year. Absolutely worth it!

My first time at Cool Zoo was for the adults-only Friday night party, Sip & Dip. This event is 2X a month during the heart of the summer and features theme nights with DJs and of course since this is NOLA, people get creative and might dress in theme. I went on 80s night and the music was so fun and I loved people wearing neon, 80s tshirts and even hair and make-up. Refreshments stands are spread out among the park and they do a themed cocktail and sell beer, hard seltzer and soft drinks, along with typical concession food and popcorn. I had the cocktail of the evening, the Purple Rain and while it was eye-catching, it was so sweet and possibly strong, too, that I couldn't drink more than 1/4 of it (and it's a huge cup, fairly priced at only $13). The grounds are beautiful with fountains and an area with slides and water features that you'd normally see children dominating (with perfectly good reason) but it was actually fun to see adults having at it on the slides and at the water sprayers. Then there's the lazy river, which is a decent size, warm and full of jets to move you along. We ended up not using flotation devices and swam/walked through it. My main issue and why this event isn't personally my cup of tea: it's too crowded. It sells out but I think they sell far too many tickets. We arrived 15 min after it started and there wasn't a lounge chair nor seat at a table to be found. Cabanas are so cheap here but they sell out immediately ahead of the event, likely the day that tickets go on sale. The only way I'd return was if I could get a cabana. The lazy river is completely packed 45 minutes into the event. We were lucky enough to get a locker (which also sell out so imagine being there without a space to put your things??? how is that fun?). People are in general nice enough to hand over the inner tubes but good luck ever getting a place to sit if you didn't line up in advance of start time. I keep going back between 3 and 4 stars for the main reason that everyone who works here is SO nice. The staff really made everything bearable for me, as they were so welcoming and helpful to point out where the lockers were (there's another set behind the set you initially encounter). I just think this isn't the event for anyone who avoids crowds of people. And the crowd that was there that night were totally fine (at least early in the evening). They just sell too many tickets for me to enjoy it.

He would respond, but the tears wouldn't stop. The coaches continued to be alert to all of the children and they followed along to a routine where everyone waited in line and had a turn. I was impressed how engaging the staff was with the kids (especially because most of them are young). The gym seems organized and it was clean.
