The best part of this park is the playground equipment. It is huge and one of the best I have seen. Other than that this park doesn't offer much. There are few benches to sit on and no other attractions to draw people to the park. The pavillion is big and it looks like a good spot to rent for a party. There is no walking/jogging path, no tennis courts, kayaks/boats to rent, soccer/softball fields, etc. For me this park offers little else to do unless you want to bring the kids here to play on the playground equipment.

There is a large playground area that the kids love. The playground reminds me of my favorite playground as a kid because it is made of wood. Most of the ground level decking is made of composite boards now, but the main structures are wood. The playground has swings, monkey bars, slides and all sorts of obstacles for the kids. The ground is sand so be prepared to get sand in your shoes, but it will be worth it. There is a large pavilion in the park which is available for rent. This would be a great place to plan a private event or outdoor wedding. The open space of the park is very large. There are some trees, but there is also a vast open area. It would be a great place to have a picnic or just lay back and watch the clouds roll by. There is ample parking inside the park unless there is a large event. When there is a large event, you are forced to park outside on the city streets and walk to the event. I highly recommend this park to families.

The Waterpark doesn't open until Memorial day since it's still off season and a bit cold. Check in and making reservations was easy and hassle free. The spot was level, had hookups for water, electricity, and a dump drain. Each spot also had its own firepit, which was really nice. It was nice that each spot also had an adjoining parking spot for a vehicle. We didn't use any showers or bathroom, so I can't comment on that. The beachside spots were a little costly at $100 a night ,but worth the splurge. Quiet hours were posted and everyone complied. Rating from F to A +++ it gets an A ++. His heart and passion is not just for the youth to have an old-fashioned way to have fun outside of screens and isolation but also for the adults to spend time with their family! What better way, but to run around with some paintball guns! It was very fun in all of the fields, which they have absolute tons of them, I went with my teenager before he returned back to school across the country and we had a blast. The staff there are really knowledgeable and fun to have as referees. We were there for over 4 1/2 hours and we plan on going back. This is a festival that takes place in John Davis Park ever year the last weekend in June. It has…read moreamusement park rides for the children and music for the adults- which was awesome this year.. This year Mel Waiters closed the festival. He really put on a great show. The music is in the center of the park under all of the beautiful oak trees with tons of shad and benches and picnic tables to sit. The food is from local venders from around Lacombe. The festival offers a very family friendly atmosphere. Lacombe is a very small community, and this festival offers you that small community feel. You more than likely will know most of the venders if you grew up in Lacombe or Slidell or the other surrounding towns. At this festival everybody knows everybody and it feels like a huge family gathering. Fun times.
