Beautiful superior gym, this place is stellar and epic. It is just huge! The gym is spectacular and beautiful and I'm thrilled to make the membership today on the promo! The pool is warmer than PAC genesis (as well as both of Franco's pools work) The showers are exquisite with privacy curtains and shampoo and conditioner is provided by the club . Pelican athletic aka genesis only gives foaming antibiotic BS for the members in their showers too so FRANCOS trumping them on multiple levels and it's cheaper here for the year contract also! I love this place so much and I can't wait to be back tomorrow and see what in the gift shop and go for another workout! I'd like to make it clear that I've been going to Franco's on and off literally since the day it opened in the 1980s. I even worked there in college and this is a first-hand review of my experience and my feelings about how the club handles the safety of its' older members, two of whom are my parents. The fact that Franco's got my original review taken down instead of absorbing the feedback and addressing safety concerns shows they care more about their reputation than safety. I stand by my original review... I'd like to reiterate, please enter at your own risk. There are trainers and employees who are not vaxxed and working closely indoors with members in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who could be at risk because of the selfishness and irresponsibility of Franco's, it's staff, and policies. Is there a vaccine mandate in Mandeville? No. Can businesses implement one? Yes. In my opinion, to hide behind the, "no mandate" defense is lazy and puts profits before safety. We were incredibly disappointed and horrified to learn one of the trainers who works with my elderly members including my dad, had Covid and was unvaxxed. How many days do you think this trainer showed up to work as a carrier before testing positive? It's unclear and scary to think about. Of course getting Covid isn't anyone's fault... But to knowingly and willingly go to work in an indoor environment with people who are elderly and choose not to be vaccinated, all with permission of your employer, is dangerous. I don't think it's unfair or unkind to warn people of a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment. I'd like to offer a suggestion - if you are not going to require vaccinations of your staff, I'd recommend only having those trainers who are vaccinated, teach/train members 60+. read more

4/9/18 - Updated review for Franco's Grille Sports & Media Lounge: I ordered the Sandwich/Salad Combo. Club Salad lettuce was wilted and not fresh (discolored) plus the tomatoes, cheddar and jack cheeses were left off the salad on accident. I had to request them added on even though the menu states they are included. Ranch dressing is in a packaged cup and not made in house. I requested the Chicken Pesto Panini not include the mushrooms but they were in the panini anyway. It's frustrating to receive ingredients you didn't want and then have ingredients you do want to not be included. That's the opposite of an accurate order. I'm glad I ordered for dining-in because if I got it to-go then I would be disappointed in the accuracy of the order. I don't plan on utilizing the grill here in the future. Our family has been members since moving to Mandeville in 1988. Lots of tennis courts, large gym area including cardio. I wish there were more racquetball courts like in the past. The grill is improved from previous years. The gym could use more filtered water stations; not a dirty fountain like currently available. Free towels for use while in the gym. Large pools and kids swimming area. read more

Been a member for 10 years. Sauna almost never works. Hot tub was inoperative for six weeks, with a sign that said "temporarily inoperative". And another sign that said "Franco's, moving forward, never standing still". I'd be embarrassed to put that slogan next to that 1960's hot tub. Mens locker room is filthy. Our whole family loves Franco's! This gym has everything you need. It is always clean, plenty of machines and equipment, many options for classes and the staff is super helpful. They offer activities for kids. All of my kids went to swimming lessons here and we recently participated in the summer swim team. It was very well ran and a great experience. The childcare center is wonderful - my little one never wants to leave! They offer summer camp every year also. The gym has a salon and an amazing spa as well. It is the perfect option for a gym, and so much more, for our family! read more

The pool area is beautiful. The lifeguards did an amazing job, and were extremely polite and welcoming. The guards on top of the slide were extremely nice, and engaged in conversation with all of the children. I love the dedication, even on ten minute break the guards were cleaning, and were willing to help, even though it was not required of them. 5 stars, will definitely bring my kids back. read more

Never in my life have I smelled such a strong chlorine odor. What are you hiding. My experience would have been more enjoyable if the guy at the squat rack next to me didn't loudly moan every rep. That alone was decently distracting, but then I noticed he was also erect. Since then I haven't been back, but I do miss the chlorine stench read more

She gave us an excellent tour and ensured all of our questions were answered and we toured as a family of 5 so she was extremely patient. I signed up this year for the summer session and I really did enjoy the experience at Franco's. The weekend movie nights were a hit with the kids and gave us some much needed down time. My youngest also did summer swimming and that was just awesome, great instructors who are serious about what they do. The equipment selection is great as well for working out and I always found the staff to be friendly. If anything I think they could expand their food menu a bit, but overall this place is convenient and fairly priced in my opinion. I'll definitely be continuing my membership. read more

I just became of member of Franco's Athletic Club and I love it. My only complaint is it could be a little closer to my house. But that isn't a real complaint. I put my 3 year old through the swimming program and within 2 days he was swimming!! Sue is a fabulous instructor along with Carla. My son also loves the child care there and usually doesn't want to leave when it is time to go. Love the cycling classes too. read more

Full disclosure: I worked the front desk of this place for about 5-6 months after I graduated college about 5 years ago. That said, once I moved back to Louisiana, I joined the Franco's on Magazine and I think it's a beautiful facility. I have since taken temporary residence on the Northshore and luckily my Magazine street membership allows for a dual membership to the Covington location. I still think Franco's is expensive, especially when bringing an adult guest, but otherwise it's really nice. The class schedule is full; you can literally find a class at any time of the day, and I really like that. The staff/instructors are super friendly, the pool is well-kept, the locker room is pretty nice, though I do see some room for improvements as it's a little dated. Overall, I think it's a great gym. (and the little boutique inside isn't bad either; such cute clothes!) read more

I really wish I had joined sooner. My family and I really love being active again and Franco's is a great medium for that. Since joining we have gotten into shape, made friends and found exciting new hobbies that encourage activity, fitness and healthy living. Management is not responsive when there is a problem. There is a lack of integrity in the management at francos. After many years of membership, I'm thinking about another facility. The trainers are very talented and the facility is clean, but if you ever make a complaint, it will not be handled professionally. It's a shame because otherwise it is a nice club. read more

The gym equipment is to close together, pool and pool chairs are old. There are children running everywhere outside at the pool. The carpet upstairs has a funky smell. The aerobic room is located in the main hallway where everyone is walking by staring at you. There is basically to much equipment and workout rooms for the amount of space. Not worth 79.00 a month with a 150.00 start up fee. There are better places for the money. read more

Grew up loving Franco's and watched it blossom from a tiny place into a massive high end Club and Spa over the past 25 years. I got my own membership about 4 months ago and have been really enjoying the Super Friendly staff, convenient hours, and great amenities. The family locker room needs a lot of work and the bathrooms need updating and better lighting, but overall I'm very pleased. I love the freshening they did on the kiddie pool (Our kiddo loves the baby pool and those darling little lounge chairs). The summer Saturday bands are a great addition on the new stage, not to mention party and summer camp options in house! I appreciate the high end gym equipment with TV's, cable and Wifie, plue the extensive list of classes available. I also took a tour of that Spa upstairs and it looks OutStanding! Reminds me of a 5 star spa in Colorado Spings, Co. (I do need to schedule a trip up, but it seems pretty booked up quite often which might be a good sign). It's a personable place to hang out, a great place to work out, and the heated pools make it a year round destination for any swimmer. read more
