I even worked there in college and this is a first-hand review of my experience and my feelings about how the club handles the safety of its' older members, two of whom are my parents. The fact that Franco's got my original review taken down instead of absorbing the feedback and addressing safety concerns shows they care more about their reputation than safety. I stand by my original review... I'd like to reiterate, please enter at your own risk. There are trainers and employees who are not vaxxed and working closely indoors with members in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who could be at risk because of the selfishness and irresponsibility of Franco's, it's staff, and policies. Is there a vaccine mandate in Mandeville? No. Can businesses implement one? Yes. In my opinion, to hide behind the, "no mandate" defense is lazy and puts profits before safety. We were incredibly disappointed and horrified to learn one of the trainers who works with my elderly members including my dad, had Covid and was unvaxxed. How many days do you think this trainer showed up to work as a carrier before testing positive? It's unclear and scary to think about. Of course getting Covid isn't anyone's fault... But to knowingly and willingly go to work in an indoor environment with people who are elderly and choose not to be vaccinated, all with permission of your employer, is dangerous. I don't think it's unfair or unkind to warn people of a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment. I'd like to offer a suggestion - if you are not going to require vaccinations of your staff, I'd recommend only having those trainers who are vaccinated, teach/train members 60+.

There are two rooms, the main cardio/large weight equipment room and another room with all the extra goodies like kettle bells, TRX bands, battle ropes, etc. What I love the most about this gym is that it is never crowded. I have never waited for a machine or a set of weights. I have actually been the only person in the gym numerous times. They also have classes which are held in the little room. They have a strength training type of class with the owner, Jay. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks like it has a cult following. They also have Spinning now, which I am a big fan of. They have two different teachers, and convienent times (morning or night). Both teachers are excellent. What it isn't: This is not your big box, crowded gym where there are 100's of people sweating all over each other. If you have experienced one of those, you know what that entails. Those big gyms have perks (child care, big class schedule, fancy locker rooms), but they come at a price (literally and figuratively!) Freedom Fitness is a welcoming place for people of all types of workout phases. You have grandma strolling on the treadmill in her khaki pants, to the big body builder types pushing 400 pounds on the chest press, and everyone in between. Snap is open 24 hours so it is very convenient if you work a night shift or a night person. I have been at 330 am and i had the place all to myself. In addition, once your a member of snap, you can visit any location anywhere in the country. Although there isn't a pool or tennis court, Snap is great for getting a decent workout. Major juice heads may not have enough weights but your average person will be fine. It costs around $46 a month for an individual membership.

Someone even walked around offering bottles of water. I live in a large (over)populated city and let me tell you, that is not something someone would do! It was awesome. When i come to visit my sister i will definitely be coming back!

Even though THEY communicated with me via text, when I let them know via text a month in advance that I wanted to cancel and they responded- that wasn't okay, I had to go there in person to cancel. They continued to charge my credit card. I contested the charge with my credit card company and immediately they threatened to send me to collections. Of course, I didn't want that on my credit report, so I had no choice except to pay. I spoke with my attorney, who concurred that their business practices are unethical and the contract they make you sign is ambiguous. Others have mentioned- it's 2026, everything is done electronically- I cancel memberships. subscriptions etc via the internet- why not get with the times!? They just want your $$$. It is difficult to schedule classes they are almost always full, you can get wait listed-but you won't know if you get in until you get up in the morning. they charge $25 if you don't show for a class, won't let you in if you are more than 5 min late (unless you know someone there). Some of the instructors are great, others are not. I had private classes before I went there, it was a much better experience. My final thought ~ class action lawsuit
