My friends have been overcharged and only noticing after they check the receipt and the store manager refuses to accept any responsibility.

With only 2 weeks til prom, we were worried. She immediately found like 10 beautiful dresses to try on. She narrowed it down to 3 after much deliberation - they were all so beautiful! The staff was so helpful and friendly. They were attentive and gave honest feedback. They knew their merchandise well. There were 4 customers in the shop at one time while we were there and I watched them give good, attentive service to each of them. The dresses they have on the racks are sample dresses and range from size 2 to 14, though most are in the 2-8 range. So if you're not tiny you'll have trouble trying things on, but they can order any dress you like in your size and many of them are available in multiple colors. Heads up though that it can take 4-5 weeks to order a dress, so leave yourself plenty of time and order a few months in advance if you can. You never know if things will be held up these days in shipping. We finally managed to choose 1 and it's so gorgeous. They let us buy it off the rack since we didn't have time to order one (It was a sample). It's a size too big, but we'll be able to get it altered in time. The employees gave us the name of a good tailor they work with. It seems like the prices have gone up by about $100-$150 more than what I remember from 2018. The dress we chose was $520, which was about $120 more than I expected to spend, but the dress is absolutely beautiful on her and we didn't have to go looking all over CT. One and done! That's worth something. I read a lot of the other reviews on here and was surprised to see one star ratings and bad experiences with the staff. Our experience could not have been better. Some people complained that their daughters were unable to go try stuff on without their mothers there- I can see where that would be annoying, but these are very expensive dresses, and I'm sure they don't want groups of girls coming in and trying things on for fun. The more people try them on, the more worn out the dress gets, then they have to discount it to sell it. We looked at a few that had broken zippers or unraveling stitches (in the spaghetti string ties that lace up the back) from too many try-ons. So they don't want casual shoppers handling them and trying them on- it's more wear and tear. So please be considerate of the business and adjust your expectations. If you do, you'll find experienced, helpful staff and a store full of beautiful dress options!

It felt like we were interrupting them when we needed assistance. Their feedback about dresses that my daughter tried on felt ingenuine and sometimes pushy. Additionally, there were no mirrors in the dressing rooms, so you had to come out in order to see yourself in the mirror, even if you didn't think you were going to like a dress.

They are very popular across the British Isles as well as several countries across Europe. The Primark in Danbury is part of the Danbury Fair Mall, the good news is you can access it as its own store, no need to go through the mall. This store is massive, there were so many shoes when we first walked in. There's hair accessories, purses and other small knickknacks. The clothes aren't super organized. The hangers are marked with various sizes, but they are actually all random sizes hung on random hangers. This was everywhere, same with the shoes. I am a bit selective when it comes to clothes shopping, I prefer my items to be mostly cotton. Cotton items were difficult to find or non existent at Primark. We spent two hours here and all I found were two items. Keeping in mind that they are a fast fashion retailer, the quality isn't always there. Loose strings, uneven stitching, unavailable sizes are all a part of the gamble. The wait to access a fitting room was surprisingly fast and efficient. The line to check out was long but moved fast, due to several open registers. I'm glad I experienced Primark, while they aren't for me, they might be for you. Marshalls, Target and Amazon are more accessible for me.

Fine, that is a stylists job to help you find what works best for your body. I felt there was some slight body shaming inherent in her pushiness, but whatever. I chalked it up to the stylist being a bit older and perhaps of an era where curves were not as celebrated as they are now. I would not have written a review, except for this one exchange that really continues to not sit well with me. After I responded to her that I was comfortable with my curves and that my fiancé is also a fan of my body, she said: well it doesn't matter what he thinks, they always think you look nice. It is everyone else at the wedding you should be thinking about. That was just a step too far for me. I promptly left, ending up purchasing the sheath dress I liked elsewhere where I was comfortable doing business. It just left a bad taste in my mouth that she (1) was unable to read the room about my personal preferences and comfort, I wasn't looking to her to help me decide what suited me best in that moment and (2) would go so far as to stoke insecurity with that last comment.
