Another Torrance gem I am happy to have found. Tiny little place. Parking in the back but not much. Definitely a place to pick up and go or just order delivery for $4. The entire family was working when I came to pick up my order in the little hot restaurant. They were all nice and polite but they keep forgetting my rice. Last time I had to make rice at home for my delivery this time I checked my bag....no rice. The woman snapped at some kid in their language and he got the rice. Lol. I love their hot and sour soup. The Rangoon is sometimes over cooked & chewy but good when it isn't. The egg rolls are really good as well. We usually get the combo chow Mien, orange chicken, and broccoli chicken dinners. Fast food Chinese good to go. Very tiny place and no seats. The last taking my order was making sure I order eat I wanted and asked a couple of questions. Good customer service! They have American Chinese food for weekday lunch deals. We parked on the street. They also do catering for a big group event it seemed like. Their service is good, but they're not the friendliest people, but they're a mom and pop shop with their kids working so what do you expect. This is an update to a deservedly poor review I priviously gave. I tried this restaurant ONE MORE TIME and was astonished how good my orders were this time. Still don't trust the shrimp since what will forever be called "the incident" . However, since I'm a born-again vegitarian, that is no longer an issue. I had been told my order will be ready within 15mins. after I paid for my order, they all other customers who ordered after me got their order but not for myself. finally I got my order on 11:48. they made me wait extra 30mins and no apologies or anything. even they kinda tossed my order to me. whats wrong with these guys. I paid them another visit and this time tried the egg flower soup, vegetable egg foo young and vegetable lo mein. They had my order ready to go within 15 minutes even at dinner time so don't believe the Yelp app's estimated time. They serve up three egg patties in a styrofoam container (BOO) with the brown sauce on the side. The vegetables in the sauce were severely overcooked so the broccoli, zucchini, bean sprouts, snow peas and more were very wilted and soft - kinda yuk in my opinion. I served up each patty with the gravy and heated them up as leftovers, but the patty was kind of chalky and flavorless so all you taste is the brown sauce. Definitely a skip for next time. I did, however, enjoy the egg flower soup. Very delicately flavored so people who want taste cranked up to 100% will want to avoid, but I loved it. I had it with rice and enjoyed the texture of the egg as it melted on my tongue followed by the clean, mellow broth. The vegetable lo mein is likewise pretty good. Good flavor, nothing overcooked. Just a post note: I do wish this place didn't use zucchini. For me, it just isn't a texture that goes with the Americanized Chinese dishes I'm accustomed to. read more

Haven't been here in years. I forgot about this place and today my son and I decided to get their combo chowmein, green beans, orange chicken. Our appetite hasn't been good but omg the orange chicken is sooooooo good! And I don't even like orange chicken usually... The texture is just perfect! I love this place. I had a craving for sweet and sour and checked Yelp! to see what was nearby that I had yet to try and found Mandarin Kitchen. I did not pre-order but just stopped by and ordered the sweet and sour pork lunch special. The entree was prepared to order (I'm sure the pork was pre-fried, but it wasn't cooked with the sauce and vegetables before I ordered it) and ready in about five minutes. It was delicious! It came with rice, a cup of soup, a spring roll, and a fried wonton. Such a bargain. And the young man who took my order was friendly and polite. Couldn't ask for more. This place had temporarily closed due to covid, but it's back open and going full steam. People had been waxing poetic about it in Torrance Community Group and when someone mentioned they had reopened, I took the kids for lunch. I had the Kung Pao Chicken, and my kids had sweet and sour chicken, orange chicken, chicken chow mein, and the fried rice. Every single thing was delicious. Not complaints at all.
