Great service, delicious food, my son loves the chow mien too. It seems hidden but make a left up the stairs and enjoy! Will definitely come back!

Just wanted to provide an update. I haven't ordered from Mandarin House in quite some time, but I've been seriously craving Chinese food. I tried to order some new stuff from the menu. - Lemon Chicken: Nothing really stood out. Just lemony and slightly sweet chicken. - Two Eats Flavored In Scallion: MY FAVORITE!!! I love Mongolian Beef and this is similar except it has chicken AND beef!!! - BBQ Pork Bao (staple): Now only include 3 bao instead of 4 ::insert sad face:: - Onion Pancake: STELLAR. I cannot recall if I've ordered the onion pancakes from Mandarin House before. Regardless, this item will for sure become a staple. - House Special Fried Rice: Solid. I was sad to not find the Beef Pancakes on the Postmates menu anymore. Summary: DO NOT sleep on Mandarin House. Solid Chinese food at a good price with ample portions.

4 of had dinner last night at Mandarin House. Holy hallelujah!! I wanted real Chinese food and this place was excellent! We ordered enough food for about 15 people lol. Everything we got was perfect! From the sesame cold noodles, scallion pancakes, Singapore noodles, hot pot, chongqing chicken, bbq pork boa buns. To much to list! Will come back for sure next time in Portland. Absolutely freaking delicious!

There is plenty of seating there and It looked like there was a space for live music and string lights - probably a fun spot to grab dinner in the evening. We came for lunch and ordered the chao mian with chicken (spicy) and bian bian noodles (spicy). The noodles are cooked to order and we were served quickly. The serving sizes are huge. Neither one of us could finish ours. We'll likely order one dish to split next time, and that'd still probably be more than enough. The flavor of the chao mian was a bit lackluster. It was savory with a soy sauce flavor base, but got a bit repetitive with each bite. It was decently spicy and texture was there with the veggies, but I wish there was a way to customize with more spice or vinegar to taste. The bian bian noodles were more flavorful and also spicier. Fun noodle texture. There are also other vendors in the garden so you can pair a dessert, drink, or side with your meal while staying in the same area. Overall, a filling meal for a good price! Would come again to try their beef noodle soup.

The place was full of hungry locals and tourists but was uncustomarily quiet and calm. From the hostess that seated us, to the waitress and servers, all staff and management were extremely polite, positive and helpful. We were starving. So we ordered 3 entrees and side of Dry-fried String beans. The Green Beans were cooked perfectly and the serving size was generous! One of our new favorites is the Mongolian Chicken. Is not a spicy Chinese food dish but the moist chicken and seasonings produced a yummy & comfort food level dish! As usual, the lightly battered & deveined Butterfly prepared Salt & Pepper Shrimp was mouthwatering, with every bite. As the last entree to be served. The ten Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings were fresh and flavorful. Needless to say, with only 2 patrons eating lunch with 3 heaping entrees plus Dry-fried String beans and white rice - we took home 2 more meals worth of Chinese food leftovers. Definitely dine in at this Old Town location or order To Go!

We devoured everything and left no crumbs but the dishes I would likely gravitate back towards are the hand pulled noodles, wings, and actually the Mandoo! The hand pulled noodles were coated nicely with a spicy sauce and had a great chew to them. I loved the thickness of the noodles and added crunch from the cabbage and other veggies. Half sweet and half spicy for the wings was the way to go - each wing was doused in sauce and sesame seeds but still maintained its crunch. As someone that doesn't usually like wings, these were fantastic. Lastly, the Mandoo surprised me! It was the sauce that sealed the deal. It was like a thousand island, poppy seed kind of dressing that worked very well. I couldn't stop eating them. If you're looking for authentic Korean food, this is the place!
