We did order the egg rolls to go while we were finishing eating and our server forgot. It might be good to check on your order if it seems like it has been a while, especially if they are busy. This last visit they had the entire restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day coming up. But, besides the additional decorations the overall vibe is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant but more. The service has been friendly and fast! The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

I've had this restaurant recommended by multiple people and I can say it lives up to the hype. I loved the decor and music playing, the atmosphere was casual and fun. We were sat in a little booth but there are high and low tables and a bar area inside and a patio outside. The patio is shaded, which will be nice in the summer. We had chips and salsa brought to the table, and they were the typical restaurant chips and salsa, nothing special but tasty. I ordered the birria tacos and was so glad I did! They were cheesy, greasy, full of meat, and the consommé was rich and flavorful. The rice was really flavorful and the beans were typical. My husband ordered a cantarito and I thought it sounded good so I ordered one too. They were much bigger than we've had before. They were kind of warm, cherries were added, and it was heavy on the orange juice. I wouldn't order one again, but I would definitely order a margarita. They all sounded so good, and I'd love to try the candy shots! They only came as a set of 4, I wish we could get them individually. Overall, a great experience and looking forward to going back to try more.

To start, we ordered the taleggio cheese and the whitefish rillettes. Both were amazing in their unique flavor combinations. Pairing it with their homemade sourdough made it even better. The menu is small but there is truly something for everyone. We always order the bolognese because it is just that good. All of their pasta is made fresh from scratch and you can taste the quality. We also tried one of their fall specials- pumpkin risotto. The dish was fun and unique and it paired well with the duck, but it was verrryyy salty I had trouble eating it. Luckily I was already pretty full from the appetizers. I don't hold it against them, though, because I have visited multiple times and never had a single complaint about any dish I have tried. Just wasn't for me. This is our go to spot for celebrations. You really can't beat the ambience. I love the small, cozy, dimly lit feel. The staff know how to make your evening special. Our waitress, Paris, had a friendly bubbly personality and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We never once felt rushed and we were there for 2 hours. If anything, we were encouraged to enjoy our time and to explore different options on the menu. Overall, another fantastic experience here at Semo.
