Nothing better then getting fresh Chinese food, instead of food that's been sitting in a catering pan for who knows how long! This is our favorite Chinese spot in town. My sister said they had the best Kung Pao chicken she's ever had. My husband likes the honey walnut shrimp every time. The site has changed styles a few times and to see it a Chinese restaurant now peaked our interest. From the outside you wouldn't be able to get a good idea of what you'd be stepping into, but once you did, the quaint consistent decor would put you at ease. The spot offers approximately 12 - 4 person tables. Offering a wide variety of a la carte and a few combination plates, this place puts out some nice dishes. The portions are a little small compared to other local spots, but they do bring some good flavors. The staff were extremely nice and professional, and prompt too. I would've liked to see the lights dimmed a bit and the fried wontons served with sauce instead of coated with sugar, but overall its a great place and I would go back. read more

I cannot understand the great reviews for this place. Cabbage lovers rejoice. There's a ton of cabbage (cheap filler) in EVERYTHING, not just the things you'd expect them in in Chinese food. In the egg drop soup, in the Moo Goo Gai Pan... Everything. There were about 5 pieces of Nicole sized chicken in my chicken dish. The rest was a ton of cabbage and a few other vegetables. Waitress was rude and didn't like me asking questions about the way the dishes were prepared before we ordered. I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant, especially since there are very few Chinese restaurants in the high desert. Their ad stated that Door Dash delivery was available. I ordered and asked to have my food delivered between 4:30 and 5:00. After 2 hours I received a call saying they did not honor my Door Dash request. Finally went to try this place! Ordered "Shrimp with lobster sauce"... I don't know why they use "lobster" in the title if it ain't got any lobster in it! Comparing to other places I've had this dish at, this is one of the worse. "Sauce" was very dry, no sauce. This was the worst Chinese food I've ever had! They can't even cook rice. It was broken, over cooked and mushy. Szechuan beef...where's the beef it was all noodles and water chestnuts. This is probably the best Chinese food place in the area (& only place in the area for Chinese food that we would order and eat from). The location is not so bad. We usually place a phone order though have eaten here during lunch special hours and the prices and portions are ridiculously cheap during that time (and days it's offered). They're close Monday's which we've forgotten a few times. We order the same thing usually which is chicken chow mein, salt and pepper pork chop with fried rice, honey walnut shrimp with fried rice, egg rolls and egg drop soup. We have tried other dishes in their menus and everything is great but these are the favorite dishes we like to get. The portions are great and definitely sharing kinda portion. They cook to order so your food is always fresh. We definitely highly (&only) recommend this place for Chinese food to our friends. read more

While service us attentive and very friendly (I was the only person in the dining room), I could not overcome the smell of I don't know what, stagnant water, sewer, I don't really know. Suffice it to say it was not appetizing. However, the food was pretty good. Usually the meat in these kind of dishes is overcooked, theirs was not. It was in round little balls though which I thought a bit odd. My lunch plate had daikon radish & cantaloupe on it. It looked like a high school cafeteria plate. Flavors were good. I was looking for something different to celebrate a friend's birthday. The Peking Duck of Mandarin Chef is very impressive (6 stars). It is professionally prepared, skin crispy and meat tender. The duck, sitting on a bed of freshly fried rice noodle, came with an artistically crafted carrot-flower as the garnish. To eat, put the duck meat on a wrap, add cucumber sticks/green onion, and a sauce. But I decided that I don't need the green union and the sauce. The roasted duck was marinated. The meat has a good flavor already. For those who did not eat duck before, it could be risky. It is very different from chicken. Also, beware of the inconvenience. You have to order it 2 days in advance and pay a deposit of a half of the duck's price. To ensure the dish is fresh on your table, you need to call on the phone the same day you dine and let them know the exact time of your arrival. Both my friend and I enjoyed the meal so much. The BEST Chinese food in the high desert, period. I was a very loyal Golden Gate customer for many years, but wanted to give this place a try because it was closer to home. I was not disappointed. Their food is delicious, no matter what you order. The chicken chow mein and beef broccoli are the best. My family and I wanted to try out this place , I honestly can say I didn't plan to spend almost $30 On veggies. I specifically order the Mongolian beef literally these thieves sold me 5 scrawny pieces of beef and a whole onion. Then my shrimp egg foo young was also counted for.. they threw in a bunch of mess of veggies that's didn't even look like egg foo young, look like a burnt pizza with Veggies and black sauce and on top it had eggshells . I'm very disappointed on how these people take advantage of people's hunger, and worry more about stretching their dollars, in which reality are our dollars for supporting them.. if I wanted veggies I would of gone to subway or pieology pizza.. this place is a total disgrace .
