The wife went to get a pedicure while I was playing poker. Met up for food after and she was NOT happy. Negative : She wasn't aware they didn't use drills so they hand filed off her gel polish and it was not pleasant. They did not trim her cuticles. They didn't cut her toe nails down, only filed them down. The chairs have a massage option but you can only hear it, you can't feel it at all. Technician wasn't friendly. Left feet drenched in lotion and told her to put her shoes back on instead of wiping them down so she wouldn't be slipping and sliding. The lack of options for colors. Positive: Hot towel was hot Over all for a resort spa and $140 she wanted to be pampered. Instead she got easily one of the laziest and crappiest pedicures ever. Always an excellent experience. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Amenities are plentiful, upon entering you are greeted and escorted to your locker. Robe, towel, toothbrush, comb and razor are located in the locker. Then you can relax in the sauna, hot tub or heated lounge seats (my favorite). There is also a relaxation room (coed) with water, juices, tea and nuts. This room has a fireplace and an outdoor area (weather permitting). I HIGHLY Recommend a body scrub before a massage .. my skin felt amazing! When I'm at harrahs I usually visit twice during my visit, that's how much I enjoy my time there. read more

I've been to spas that I thought were nice, but this place beats them all. The amenities and facility is amazing. There's a separate women's and men's locker room but they meet together in a relaxation room with a fire place. There's also a hot tub and heated chairs in each locker room. The locker room is stocked with mouthwash, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, razors etc. The relaxation room had trail mix or fruit and different drinks to choose from. Definitely take advantage of the amenities if you're going to pay for one of their services. We paid over $300 for a couples massage; we usually pay less than half of that. We were there a couple of hours so I think it was worth it. read more

Booking a treatment is a must. I just finished the detox wrap and 30 minute massage with Stephanie. It may have been the most relaxed I've ever been. I did not want to leave. It includes a light dry brushing, lemon oil rub down, Elemis mud application and foot massage before taking a private shower in the room and a 30 minute or 60 minute massage. Stephanie is a skilled masseuse, truly gifted. I gave her an additional tip on top of the mandatory 20%. Afterwards I headed to the ladies locker room, took a shower to wash my hair, lounged in my robe by the rushing River at their co-ex outdoor relaxation area with a hot tea and cucumber water all provided by spa. I am considering planning a girls getaway just to visit this spa. Do yourself a favor and book this spa. read more

I had the best massage I ever had on Tuesday May 7th. I chose the fire and ice massage also a hair and scalp treatment. My services were performed by Rhoda and she knocked it out of the park!! We spoke at the start of my treatment for about 5-10 minutes and then she respected my time to relax and unwind. I then spent a few hours just hanging around. The outdoor area was a huge treat. This is a beautiful spa with excellent staff. We got a couples massage with both of us upgrading to deep tissue massages, and we each had a pedicure. It was the first time my boyfriend had ever had spa services, and he loved it -- a new spa convert! We were very impressed with the staff, most of all. We loved our services with Tiffany (pedicures), Christine (couples massage) and another female massage therapist (and unfortunately I can't remember her name -- but she was great, too!). Thanks to all of them for treating us so well. The facilities are also beautiful. But I'm glad I went on a Monday, because the relaxation and whirlpool/sauna areas seem a bit smaller than they need to be to accommodate large crowds on weekends (which is the peak time for most spas). The only thing lacking was a steam room, which I love in the Vegas and Charlotte spas I frequent. (It's great after being in the smoky casinos all night!) I would recommend visitors try to visit on a weekday, if possible. The services are pricey, so you should get to enjoy all the amenities as much as you can as part of the package deal. read more

I've been here before & although the facials are nice, they really try pushing products to buy. After the 3rd time trying and I say No it means no. Also I came to get a facial to relax not chat it up. The hours are also ridiculous, not open for haircuts on Mondays & Tuesdays or nails. This spa is inside between Harrah's Cherokee hotel and casino. We easily made our reservations online and were called to confirm. My husband and I both chose the 50 minute massage but they offer many other options. My sister gets her hair colored and trimmed and loves their pedicures. You can either get a treatment or just enjoy their spa. I absolutely love the relaxation room where you can choose a variety of scrumptious teas, filtered lemon water, or many juices. You can also munch on trail mix or fruit while waiting for your massage. I took advantage of the heated relaxation chairs after my massage. The staff is helpful (I always seem to have an issue with the lockers) and friendly. I highly recommend the spa or salon for anyone in the Cherokee, NC area. read more

My boyfriend and I went there today to celebrate his birthday. We had the Sacred Feather Ritual. It was amazing! 50 minutes of massage side by side, a hydrotherapy bath complete with candles and rose petals everywhere, and either lunch or champagne and chocolates! Neither of us have ever been to a spa or had massages but let me tell you: it is the best thing that I have ever done. I fee less back pain and also got rid of my migraine I went in with. I feel refreshed and beautiful! The staff is very helpful and professional. They gave a tour of the facilities and helped us find our way. I travel extensively and always love having a great massage at a 5 star spa. Although the massage was tremendous (one of the best massages I have ever had) the whole experience outside of the massage was much less than expected. I entered the spa and waited at the desk as there was only one employee named Becki working the desk. Becki was rude and abrupt and dressed incredibly inappropriate for this setting. I finally got all checked in and headed downstairs to the locker room where you are required to fill out paperwork and get familiarized with lockers etc. I arrived at the desk and no one was there. So I waited. Then Becki came in and assisted me there. She was not friendly at all and it was clear she didn't want to be there. So, I decided to get in the hot tub to help my muscles relax for the massage I had booked. Unfortunately that was short lived as the hot tub was barely warm. I got out and went back to my locker. Becki was giving a tour and I thought it was odd that there was a pile of towels on the floor that she walked by at least twice and did not pick up. As the time neared for my massage, I entered the waiting lounge. There were cups and trash lying everywhere. It looked like remnants of a frat party. Furniture was askew and blankets etc lying everywhere. I looked around and decided to just stand as I waited for my therapist. My therapists name was Sara. She entered the lounge found me and introduced herself with a smile. We walked back to the massage room together as we discussed my massage history and areas of concern. She left the room so I could get settled and then returned. Now, I paid for a "deep tissue" massage and boy did I get it! I have never had a massage therapist that was so in tune with my body that she knew exactly what I needed and where. I never had to ask for more or less pressure either and that has never happened. I've had hundreds of massages and this massage was by far the best I have ever received. World class! After the massage was over I noticed a hole in the flooring in the massage room and a paint job on the wall that had obviously not been touched up in years. When I opened the door Sara was waiting for me with water. She mentioned the products she used during the massage and reminded me to continue drinking water through the day as we walked back to the lounge. Lounge is still a mess, towels still on the floor in the locker room after an 80 minute appointment. I dressed quickly and left. Usually I stay to enjoy the amenities at a spa but nothing here to enjoy outside of the massage itself. I wish I could get Sara to move to Atlanta with me. My husband scheduled a deep tissue massage for me at Mandara Spa. I have had deep tissue massages at several spas with mostly disappointing results. When I am scheduled for a deep tissue session, I am not looking for the light touch of a Swedish style massage. Right from the start Sara delivered the right amount of pressure required for a deep tissue massage. I was able to extend my session from 50 to 80 minutes for the added cost. FYI they charge 20% gratuity before you walk in the door. I received 2 services so I will give 2 reviews. 50 minute massage from Christina P. was only 42 minutes. I know this because I looked at my Kindle when she called me in and then looked at my Kindle again at the time right when she finished. Also I prefer medium pressure massage, not to deep pressure to give you context for my next statement. I had a Swedish massage and the pressure was light. When I asked for more pressure she said that any more pressure would be a deep tissue massage and cost more. ($30 more I think) I accepted this and did not complain. Massage was good but too light to really make a difference. Second service was a 50 minute facial with John. It was amazing! He was very thorough and described everything he was doing. He took great care to make sure I was comfortable and well-informed. He also did a neck, shoulder, hand, and arm massage that was amazing and completely made up for the lack of pressure in my first massage. I wish I would've spent the full two hours with John! I would have given it five stars for John. Also note there is no steam room, there is a sauna. They do provide lotion, razors, shampoo, conditioner, brushes, anything you could need. The quiet areas for relaxing before the spa weren't very quiet. The facility is very nice and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I would come back here. read more

If you choose to have any of there treatments such as massages or facials you get full access to their facilities which include a locker room, showers with proper hygiene products, a hot tub Jacuzzi tub that is huge, heated chairs to relax in, full access to snacks such as fruit and nuts, a fully stocked fridge, and tons of assortment of teas, and an outdoor relaxing area with huge cabanas. I chose the mandara signature facial and lena ( i think was her name ) was my esthitician. She was amazing and very well educated on skincare and current trends in the skincare community. Their signature facial consists of a cleanse, an exfoliating cleanser, then she applied a serum and used an exfoliating tool that removes all of the dead skin, then she proceeded with necessary extractions, followed by a face mask. While the face mask is working its magic she then does a scalp, neck, and shoulder massage which was intoxicating! After the mask is done she removes the mask, then applies a gel to the dace and uses a nuface microcurrent anti aging device which was one of my favorite parts. You can buy them there at the spa or online at sephora. They are pricey ans ive always wanted one but now that i have experienced it i no it is definitley worth every penny! After about 20 minutes of the nuface device she wrapped my face in a moist hot towel to open up pores and then proceeded with an oxygen treatment which is a device that blows out 99% pure oxygen and nutrients into the skin and is intensely rejuvenating. Then ends the facial with an application of the elemis beauty oil. I left with such a beautiful glow that lasted all day and night and she said the results should last up to 2-3 weeks. I am forever sold on the mandara signature facial and will get one every chance i get. Their spa is pricey but is worth the treat every once in a while. read more

We always visit this spa for massages when we visit the casino. This trip is was anything but great. It all started when we arrived to get day passes for some friends who were with us. They explained that they no longer do Saturday day passes which was news to us since we were just there a couple of months ago on a Saturday and got passes for other friends that went with us. So, we rescheduled our appointments for Sunday AM so our friends could enjoy the spa. We arrive at our appointment and our friends join us an hour later since my husband had a 50 minute massage and my hair appointment was scheduled for an hour an 15 minutes. Needless to say my hair appointment ran almost 2 hours and my friend had to go to the hot tub and sauna by herself. Then, she was escorted downstairs but no one asked her if she had ever been there, no one showed her how to use the lockers (she read the instructions herself) and no one showed her around which I thought was protocol. Same thing happened with her husband thank goodness my husband was finished with his massage and he was able to show him around. Then the men's hot tub wasn't working and that is the main point of going to visit the spa. At check out since I had prepaid before our services I was told they had to charge me an additional charge because my hair wasn't short (which it is) so that was an additional charge and my husband added some hot stones to his massage which is fine but the attendant got a little snippy when I asked her to break down the additional charges for me. I am not going to mention names but she knows who she is. I will always visit the spa on our visits but I am just hoping they step up their game a little but because it is a luxury to enjoy at a quite hefty price so we expect better customer service the next time! read more
