To say that Rick Mancini and his professional Associate, Earl are extremely good at their job would be an understatement. I had a very severe water retention problem in my backyard due to a mistake made by a previous company that we had hired, but I contacted Rick and Earl, they wasted no time in coming out, evaluating the situation, and coming up with a viable and expert fix to the situation. They dug several trenches to wick the water out and completely dry out the backyard, as well as lifted my sinking shed and put it back up on concrete supports. They also did an amazing job of putting a fence around my backyard for my dogs. Overall, extremely satisfied, and very happy with Rick Mancini, and Earl who, in my honest opinion, are professionals at a higher level. I so badly wanted to be able to give them 5 stars. We approached Mancini designs for a quote on our back patio. We had a concrete slab there and wanted to remove it and put in pavers. We had a very strict budget and were completely transparent about it all along. Upon initial consult we said our budget was X amount. When the quote came back it was 3x the amount of our budget so we did not call them back. Mancini design (MD) reached out to us 2 times afterward, at which we called them back. They asked if we could meet them in the middle, which we stated unfortunately we did not have any more liquid funds, but that we would call them back next year when we could afford it and put in the patio. Mancini design then said they would work with us and give us a beautiful patio within our budget that we could build on in the future. My husband and I were over the moon. We could not believe the generosity of the business to be able to work with and give us a gorgeous patio. They incorporated a natural stone retaining wall, per my request and even said they would seed the surrounding area once finished during the initial consult. Construction ensues, my husband removes the giant concrete slab. Under the slab was a large pile of crushed stone/rocks. We had asked MD if they needed the rocks to use as underlayment to our patio which they reported no. We have a dump trailer and they were nice enough to load it for us so we could take it away. Then MD began leveling the ground, but there was still a large amount of rocks and dirt in the area. We Brought up our concerns about being able to grow grass over all the crushed stone and rocks, for which they ensured us that they would use the remainder for the underlayment and we would be able to grow our plants. They even gave us a nice planter bed around the patio which wasnt in the original design. As there days progressed in the project, it was apparent that Rick, the owner was losing his patience with the project. When my husband asked closer to the end if they were going to reseed Rick responded with somethign to the effect of "buddy I'm already way over on this job we cant do that" for which we understood! They were giving us a great deal on the patio and seed is extra. When the final day came, our yard was still massively over excavated, littered with stone, remaining boulders, and a giant pile of left over stone/dirt fill remained. When my husband went out to ask Rick about the rocks everywhere, fill and boulders left over, Rick put his fingers in my husbands face and said "I have only made 2 grand over 4 days on this job! I am not prepared to take away the stone. youre gong to have to get your machine and do it yourself." To put this into perspective, I am 8 months pregnant with our first child and my husband has other projects (like a nursery) that we need to get done. We did not bank on having to pick up and clear an entire yard of stone. Now I am stuck running around my yard trying to clean up the area while my husband works inside so I can attempt to get some type of grass seed down so we stop trekking in pounds of dirt and sand into my house. The patio is awesome, the way the finished it, well I would never do that to someone. read more

I initially used Mancini Landscaping in the summer of 2021 to dig a trench for the electrical and gas lines during my pool installation. I had many vendors doing different tasks throughout the summer to install the pool, patio, lighting, gas heater, etc and none were more responsive and reliable than Rick. Every time I called he answered. When I questioned the retaining wall left behind by pool company during excavation, Rick came over and took care of while I was away on vacation. He provided his opinion and insight on the work being done for the hardscape. I don't think my project would have turned out as beautiful as it did if it weren't for Rick and his team. He was a valuable asset during this huge backyard project. As I stated, my original intent was to only use Manicini Landscaping to dig a trench but they earned my trust and respect so I've used them for multiple projects of the past several years from retaining walls, to yard design and landscaping and driveway repaving. During these past several years its been difficult to find someone who will pick up the phone and get the job done. We had Rick do a trench and pit for a buried propane tank installation. I provided him with the piece of paper from the propane with the specs/dimensions. When he was done digging, I checked the hole and it seemed a little deep, but he said "no problem". Propane company comes out and says it's too deep and that it needs to be filled to bring the depth up. Rick proceeds to blame the propane company saying it's their fault. Ultimately it ends up being fixed, but he charged us double to fix a problem he caused. Not only that, he left our yard an absolute disaster and we threatened to withhold payment from him; he proceeded to say how he's a "good Christian man" just trying to do his job. I will say he did seat the propane tank in the hole since the propane company was unable to do it due to the way the hole was situated; however, he did of course charge us a ton extra for it. We ended up paying just so we'd never have to see him again. Would not use him ever again nor would I ever recommend him. read more

Rick has always come in at the best rates we've found in the area for fencing, painting, yard cleanups/mulching/mowing, plowing/sanding, as well as project work (we had a walkway designed and constructed in 2017 pictured with this review). Rick has also been able to recommend additional services such as Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC work in order to get our 'fixer-upper' in premium shape! I strongly don't recommend. Very unprofessional and no work ethics. Requested quote for my fire place a week before, agreed to a price. Charles visited the construction spot multiple times and conditions gave a revised quote. Actual day of work, Charles & his men joined by Owner (Rik), cooked up a story and after a lengthy conversation. Wants additional 2k on top of agreed price, to do the same work. They were jus blowing their own trumpet on their past work. A team of people with no professionalism. In fact there were other projects completed in my house by other contractors. This group of people, were jus complaining on other contractors workmanship and finding faults on their completed work. Honestly I felt my other contractors work was good and far better than this company. Stay away, they are scammers. read more

Mancini Landscape Installed a retaining wall and some steps that wrapped around my driveway with big interlocking blocks, The installation was clean and done in a timely manner and fairly priced. This company has great workers BUT the owner and boss treats them horribly. I overheard him speaking, scolding and slave driving, rather, to his workers one day while working at my house and was truly apauled. He was NOT LETTING 2 OF THE WORKERS DRINK WATER on this 100 degree day (mind you it was about 2pm and they had been there working nonstop since about 8am). He also would constantly get out of his air conditioned Truck to criticise their hard and great work (he had only 4 guys doing a job that should have been at least a 7 man job) to not help or do any physical work with them, but to just get back into the truck. He just would CONSTANTLY SWEAR and THREATEN to cut the men's pay for reasons such as getting a drink of water.. I felt so bad so I went outside myself and offered the men water which they all ecstatically, but almost fearfully accept. He was an awful man. Yes the work was great, however, seeing the treatment of the hard working employees made my decision to NEVER USE e THIS SERVICE e AGAIN easy.. Also made my decision to go on and give them one star. treat your men better as it highly reflects on your work and the type of business you run, sir. read more

This guy uses people to do his dirty work and doesn't pay them at all. Says he's running some kind of slave job. I hope his business gets shut down for poor management and quality of work. This guy had me on my firdt day of work to destroy cement without any PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT) and he always be critezing everyone's work in front of his aunt. His aunt is a loving woman, and she was really thankful for bring us workers some food plus drinks for the hard day of work. He kept calling me kid bc I was the only young one there. Didn't really bother me as much, but had the urge to correct him. But I think y'all know how that goes when it comes from me lol. I'm honest and a hard working man. But if I'm going to be treated like dirt then don't expect me to give you a " great and positive attitude". He think he knows it all when it comes to being a laborer , I've been in this field for 4+ years and I've never had a worst experience like I've did here working for Mancini . I want to tell you that both the owner and workers do amazing work. The review from 10/2/2015 I did not experience anything of what they are saying. These people have worked on my property for over 3 months during all kinds of weather and the owner was extremely concerned about the welfare of his employees. He made sure that they were adequately supplied with what ever they needed for the type of weather conditions and checked on them frequently. He also chipped in and did the work right along side of them, if they were unsure how to do it, he patiently explained and showed them, sometimes several times until they were comfortable at what they were doing. My property came out BEAUTIFUL, and people I don't even know stop by and tell me what a beautiful job and ask who did the work. The owner was professional, and extremely polite, I had absolutely no issues with both the owner and his workers. I am extremely pleased with the work he did. They did a retaining wall, expanded my driveway from a tight 2 car to at least 4+ cars, drainage, removed huge stumps, walkways, fence, railings, flower beds, trees, sod, seeded, patio with fire pit, starway, platform for shed you name it they did it. And I am having them come back to do more next year. They will be doing my fall and spring clean ups. I would highly recommend them to anyone. My yard looks AMAZING, and it's the best looking yard in the neighborhood. read more
