If you read many of the reviews, you find the word "honest". This is hard to come by with many repair shops and dealerships, who are trying to sell or upsell you on repairs. At Manasquan Auto they spent time with me explaining the issue and options, they even went as far to tell me which cars they repairs the least and are the most reliable, as I was leaning towards getting a new car rather than spending lots of money to repair a 10 year old car. You're not getting that with a dealership! Thank you for your honest service. read more

Very bad ,,,,,Was recommended by an employer that plays cards with the owner ..took me over the coals for a timing belt that was not the problem ..tried to run a bill up on me of 3800 for a diagnosis and timing belt on a very familiar car the 4cyl Toyota Camry ...He was extremely difficult to speak with and acts like Jesus Christ of the car world ..Gave me back a stumbling stalling mess that I had to finish ..STAY CLEAR of Mr Wonderful...He makes it up as he goes along ..he got 1250 outta me for nothing ..timing belt was 40 k old and he never even did a water pump which is common to do with this job and no cam seal..He whined all the way through ..I chopped his final bill 400 and I was being kind ...I gave him 300 in cash to start.........Sean is not a good guy and it is a well kept car that several shops have screwed up to make it a bigger job ..At my age timing belts are tough to do but none a these locals practically are worth a shit read more

Manasquan Auto Diagnostic does phenomenal, honest work. I was referred to them after going to the dealership, paying for diagnostic test, and being given partial information that seemed off. Manasquan Auto Diagnostic did their own checks and likewise disputed what the dealership advised! Background: My check engine light had been on; so, last month I dropped my car off at the dealership for a diagnostic test. I paid for the test the same day it was performed but did not get the full report until 10 days later. In fact, I had to email the service manager who finally sent it with a belated apology. Unbelievable! The difference: When I called MAD and spoke with Courtney she immediately disputed the code that the dealership cited had anything to do with the check engine light. Knowledgeable! I dropped my car off. The same day I received a full report with pictures and links to video proving what they found! Professional! They fixed the faulty part, and my check engine light issue is now resolved. I am so grateful for Manasquan Auto Diagnostic and recommend them without reservation! read more

Brought car in for oil change and tire rotation. These items were well taken care on a timely basis while I waited. Also, performed a thorough inspection which revealed a leaking seal on an axle. Took vehicle to dealership to have repaired since car was under warranty. Manasquan Auto Diagnostics is a first rate operation and will continue to use in the future. read more

Excellent all the way around! Service, diagnostics, staff...I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The prices are fair, the work quality is superior to other places I have been over the years! Thank you to Sean and Courtney who always make me feel well cared for! read more

Love to support a family owned and operated business, and it's a rare Gift to find an auto repair place that is run with honesty and integrity. When we first moved to Manasquan , we used a coupon and went to a chain store around here. It was a nightmare. We finally found Sean and his company. We now bring my mom's car there as well. Could not be happier with the service we receive. read more

I love the Kennedy family that owes Manasquan Auto Diagnostics, father, daughter, and son. They demonstrate true family values of honesty, integrity and responsibility. Their knowledge of auto mechanics, locating a good price for a part, completion of a job and accurate timeframe is a great reflection of their work principles. They are a respected business to use and you will never feel that you were taken advantage by them scamming for more money. Definitely contact them for an easy way to fix your car! read more

Manasquan Auto Diagnostics are hands down the best mechanics I have ever used. The office staff is incredibly courteous, professional and extremely knowledgeable. It's essentially like talking directly to a mechanic every time you call in and they always take as much time as is needed to talk through the process and options. The experience you normally get calling a mechanic, where you feel rushed and like they don't have time to answer questions in a thorough or detailed manner, simply does not happen here. Rather, it is essentially like talking to a therapist about your automobile. The mechanics themselves are highly skilled and very interested in finding creative solutions to fix your car. During most of my appointments I have been presented with multiple options to sort out my issues and have, on several occasions, received recommendations from them to go with the lower priced option. Quite a rare experience to have a mechanic talk you into spending less money with them. Manasquan Auto Diagnostics has always gone far above and beyond what I'd expected and I cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Excellent customer service always. Trustworthy, honest and reliable. Best team ever ! read more

After disastrous episodes at the car dealership I came here. Shawn, Courtney and Ryan keep me informed every step of they way. If something is broken I get a quote by text and pictures with the cost. After I confirm, they fix it. If I decide I need to hold off, they give me the pros and cons. There is no pressure. There are two things that are most important: they fix it right the first time and they go the extra mile to get the right part that will last. It also helps the are really nice, treat me like family and the place is VERY clean! read more

Sean, his kids and team worked with me every step of the process of getting my '94 Land Cruiser back to daily driving condition after it had sat still for over five years. They worked a small miracle repairing the rusted and frozen brake calipers and replacing the leaky brake lines, all within my tight deadline, during an incredibly busy time where they had more 30% cars in queue than they had spaces to park them in. Their online system of interacting with clients is great, and complete with detailed photos with mechanics' comments, and allowed us to find workarounds that fit both my budget and tight timeframe. Just having the detailed record of the full top to bottom inspection with photos of everything including what areas needed immediate attention and those of concern but could wait, is worth half the price. They know their stuff and the business is well run in what's clearly a customer forward manner. Highly recommend. read more

What a fantastic staff. Needed them to evaluate a potential buy of used Mercedes. Not only were they thorough they take the time to explain their findings and even show you pictures under the car that could be problematic. I wish i could move their shop closer to where i lives. Smart, nice and knowledgeable. My kind of folks. I was there for a couple of hours in the waiting area and could see their regular customers love them. Gem of a place. read more

I definitely recommend this business! I was able to get an appointment very quickly and the service was outstanding. My truck was diagnosed and repaired and they made me laugh! Go here. You won't be sorry. read more

Manasquan Auto Diagnostics is the bar for which every other Auto Diagnostic/Repair shop should be measured; they are honest, highly skilled and above all they understand what service excellence all is about. The Owner/Operator, Sean, is as much hands on as any of his staff and he treats everyone with equal dignity and respect. I know this having sat in the shop and could see and hear the interaction he had with other customers, in person or on the phone, as if every customer were a family member. Their prices are more than reasonable, their diagnostics and repair are spot on and their time management is stellar, especially in an industry as finicky as this where everything is connected to everything else. As for the finer detail, I brought in my 2009 Venza to Manasquan Auto Diagnostics for a recent noise coming from the front end of the car that was starting to get a little more pronounced. Sean took the wheel and we went out for a drive where he immediately diagnosed it as the front left wheel bearing starting to go. We returned to the shop where Sean educated me on wheel bearing operation and repair. While on the lift he had the other bearings checked and made sure the one in question was not loose where it could cause further damage. Upon my appointment date I was given a loaner and by the time I got home I had received a text invite on my phone from Manasquan Auto Diagnostics for progress updates. Nice touch. Sean also noticed my oil change sticker was overdue and I told him I had just had an oil change in Florida where I live but they had forgotten to update the sticker with the milage and due date. Sean put on a new updated sticker to remind me. I also checked out their website where they have a client login for setting up appointments, etc as well as a video library of typical preventive care and educational clips. Awesome. My car is once again silent, with money left in my pocket. Now, If only I can get them to move their operation to FL. read more

Very helpful and friendly. I live nearby and they jumped my car free of charge. I will definitely recommend others!

The staff at Manasquan Auto Diagnostics are the most professional, thorough, and fair people you will find. I will not let anyone else touch my car. If you don't mind the owner of a garage who uses a professionally looking enough trumped up printout in order to convince you to replace things that really don't need replacing, then this is the place for you. read more

I took my car here at 7am on A Friday morning. Sean asked me what was going on with my car and even hopped in so I could drive him around to show him. They took the car promptly and gave me a loaner for the day! When they finished the diagnostic test and estimates, I received a long list of problems with a high price tag. When I showed up in person, however, Sean was honest in telling me what I didn't need to fix, what I may need to fix in the next 5,000 miles, and what he recommended I fix sooner. He even told me how to do something on my own to save money. For the one problem I was concerned about and I want to get fixed, I called my friend who is a mechanic and he confirmed that their price was fair. I'm personally not a fan of salesmen who overly push a product. If a product is good, it'll sell itself. Sean didn't push anything, but he sold me on his integrity, thorough explanations, and fair prices so I'll be using him for my repair. read more

I literally cannot say enough good things about Manasquan Auto Diagnostics! Any poor review has got to be by someone who did not even have any discussions with these wonderful people. Sean, Ryan, Courtney and anyone I have talked with have been so helpful, informative, and friendly. They are trustworthy. They have saved me thousands of dollars in car repairs - LITERALLY! I am only sorry I did not know about them YEARS ago when I first moved backed to NJ. Thanks to my good friend Heather for pointing me in their direction! They saved my Honda engine for less than $400.00 after I was told I needed an entirely new engine for $2800.00. That was after I already put a very large amount of money into that car maintaining it - I always maintained my cars. It's now still on the road and doing just FINE. It turned out it was an OBVIOUS FIX. I cannot go to anyone else now that I have found this local, family-run auto-shop! read more

The owner means well but his technicians are absolutely incompetent. I had my car serviced to them less than 5,000 miles ago, which includes an oil change as well as an inspections of my brakes and other parts. My left rear brake is now grinding against the rotor. They should have caught that the brake pad was thin before it happened! And if you call them out on their mistakes, they ban you. Waste of money and time. read more

really disappointed with service and honesty of the owners of the shop. I went there because of the great reviews. I now suspect the reviews were friends or family. owners very rude. Will not go back again. read more

Who has ever heard "No Charge" spoken at an automotive repair shop? How about "That repair is not needed, save your money"? Incredibly I have heard both phrases as a customer of Manasquan Auto Diagnostics and both phrases are like kryptonite at other similar locations. Their motto is not just words on a card. It is the foundation for how they conduct their business HONEST ASSESSMENTS, EXCELLENT REPAIRS. You also have the pleasure of working with a staff that takes pride in their work and are pleasant to work with on any and all issues. What a concept! Every time I visit I feel like I get an education in mechanics because owner Sean Kennedy explains it all. You NEVER visit Manasquan Auto Diagnostics without a detailed explanation on what needs to be done, why it was done and any alternatives. They even go under the car and take pictures to provide a visual reference of issues. I have had everything from oil changes to complex mechanical problems taken care of with complete confidence it will be done correctly. I would not consider anywhere else if you are looking for an HONEST ASSESSMENT of your problems and EXCELLENT REPAIRS of what you authorize. It is truly a pleasure. read more

This place is the BEST! I have complete trust in Sean and Manasquan Auto Diagnostics.. so much so that I drive over an hour from my house in Pennsylvania to have my car serviced by this team. I have absolutely no complaints, and plenty to compliment them on. Before going here, I was happy with the dealership that I had trusted since I bought my car, new, in 2009. My hold button (light) came on, so I brought it to my dealership. They gave me a $1300.00 quote and a list of repairs that they recommended. This didn't feel right to me so I went to Manasquan to get a second opinion. Not only did Sean explain to me, in layman's terms, what was happening with my car (and why/how it was happening), but this was only a $200 job!! Furthermore, Sean recommended that I got the new part from my dealership, as only a makers model will fit perfectly. An honest businessman misses the opportunity to make a dollar, for the best interest of his customers. Sean also did a once-over on my car and I got a few other repairs. He is extremely knowledgeable and I love that I can see the technicians working on my car while I wait. My car is running like it's brand new. As I was getting leaving I said to Sean that his customers seem so comfortable and happy when they walk in and out of the shop. I complimented him and his team for knowing their customer's names and said that while I sat there watching people walk in and out that morning (sipping on a free chai latte) it seemed like the customer were actually his friends. "They are my friends... they are my friends." He said. When it comes to my car, I want to spend my money here and support this small business. read more

This shop was recommended by a friend who is incredibly demanding and particular and whose opinions I have always respected. Like finding a great doctor or veterinarian, finding a super mechanic who clearly and honestly explains what's wrong, fixes the problem the first time, and charges very reasonable rates is a rare thing. And that's what Manasquan Diagnostics does! I have a 2003 Lexus with 210,000 miles and the way they service it, it's gonna go another 200,000. I bought the car new and from day one the dealer's main objective was to make sure every service visit was as expensive as possible. No dealer will ever see me again, and though it's a 25-30 minute ride to Manasquan, it's well worth it. These guys are the best. read more

I've been going to Manasquan Auto Diagnostics since 1995. In that time, I've had 8 cars, have had a child start driving and have never had a bad experience. I travel extensively and my family is here. When there is car trouble and away, its as easy as reviewing the e-mail that comes to me, walking through the diagnosis and approving the work. I'm never concerned that my family won't be taken care of when away. Having access to a quality auto repair shop is a godsend. It got to this point, the family was discussing moving from the area so I could be close to work. The two items that came up for discussion as impossible to replace, our daughters primary care physician and Manasquan Auto Diagnostics. Sean and Steve are the best, you won't be disappointed. read more

Sean and Steve kept our 1988 Acura in such good condition that we didn't have to buy a new car until 2002. And they're doing the same for our now eight-year-old Lexus. They do great work and charge eminently fair prices. We are M.A.D. about Manasquan Auto Diagnostics. read more

Today was the second time in two years Sean has saved me from the side of the road. Today (Sunday, mind you) my car ceased to proceed and was suddenly OUT of oil. From out of town, he arranged a tow, loaner car, and checked back to make sure I made it. THAT'S why I've been going to him for over 15 years. Always fair, takes the time to explain things, and shows up when you need him. read more

In a rare surprise, an honest auto shop. I've had a car forever that I just use to drive back and forth from the city to the beach. Over the years I've had a couple things repaired here and all turned out very well and for a fair price. They explain things in plain English and don't try to take advantage of you. I just got new shocks put in and Sean took it for a car wash just to be nice and give it back to me in sparkling condition. To make a long story short, the car is old, the car wash got water inside the hood, major components needed to be replaced, and they were upfront about what happened and repaired everything right away. read more

Sean and the team here are the best, they kept my wife's old Taurus running forever.
