We booked a round trip with Mammoth taxi after they were referred to us by family members. The pickup was seamless. Our driver, Tom, was pleasant and knowledgeable, and we enjoyed learning about the area from him on our way up. Toward the end of our trip, a snow storm came in, and travel was projected to be impossible. We had a family emergency at home and could not afford to be stranded in Mammoth. I called Scottie in a panic, and he and Simone went above and beyond to get my husband and I SAFELY back to Bishop airport while planes were still taking off. Simone is incredibly impressive. We were more than safe in her hands. This company, and these people, have my gratitude and appreciation. I will use Mammoth Taxi anytime I am in the area in the future. read more

I called Mammoth Cab a little after 2am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning trying to avoid a half mile walk home in freezing weather. The guy who answered the phone was abrupt, told me that they were closed but "might be able to find a driver" if I was willing to pay double the regular rate or $50. I asked him what the regular rate was for a half mile fare and he said $15, so double would be $40 with gratuity. I agreed to the $40 fare and was told the driver would be there in 5-10 minutes. Don't use this cab company! Their website stated that it was $10 to travel in town. There were 5 of us and we were traveling to dinner. It was 1.1 miles away or a 4 minute ride in the snow. Along comes SCOTT from the cab company as sweet as pie, until he charged us $30 for the ride. When I called the cab company to complain, they informed me the cab ride should have been $16 because of the amount of people and was going to call me back. I never got a call back. read more

Just got dropped off and experienced the worst customer service of my life. The driver threatened to kick us out of the car because my friend asked to play a song. And this was not a one off situation. The driver's intercom went off during the ride and we heard his peer driver LAUGHING about how he almost kicked people out of his cab because they were being loud. Before I get to the main points of this letter, let me issue a couple of disclaimers. First, I certainly dislike Mammoth Cabs based on my poor experiences. Mammoth Cabs is a voluble hypochondriac who wants only to do the entire ski resort a grave disservice. Second, Mammoth Cabs honestly is the last service you should use in town. I called Mammoth Cabs for the first time a couple of weeks ago; the owner answered and was really friendly and courteous (totally different that in LA where I had just moved from!)... He said all his cabs were working at a music festival but he would be happy to pick me up a little later if needed. :) I needed a cab right away, but remembered how nice he was so I saved the number in my phone and called them next time. Have had all great experiences since, and they are less expensive than the others in town. They do Airport Shuttle, In-Town Cab, and even service to and from all the Trailheads; I thought that was pretty cool. Overall great company, run really well & nice to deal with. read more

Guessing whoever owns the business didn't answer when I called. Total ***** tells me they are unable to find our rental property with the address. Tell him the only name I have 3 times and he doesn't recognize it nor respond to it until I say that's the only name I have and then all of a sudden he says that's what he needs. Address pulls up easily on Google maps. I'm completely vexed. Even if I somehow called back in time, pre-gps, there were still Thomas Guides back then. This was a total joke. Needed to get to the airport from Tam Lodge and was told it would be $100. They literally just make up whatever price they feel like. Had no idea Lyft and Uber are banned and will never travel back to Mammoth again. Everything is twice as expensive as places like Aspen or Vail, the cabs are a joke. I was stranded at a trailhead and was in desperate need for a ride. Whoever answered seemed a little rude at first, but let me tell you, he got a guy out there in 15 minutes. I was so relieved. But it gets better. I left my InReach tracking device in the van unknowingly. When I thought I lost it, I called the next day (2 hours before I was flying out) and they said they have it. Ruben delivered it to me in about 10 minutes. They were my angels 2 days in a row. Thank you! read more

The drivers of this business were nice, but the company has the worst customer service. One day I called and asked to pick me up at the hotel where I stayed, and take me to the Canyon Lounge ( 10 min drive ) where two my kids ( 15 and 12 y.old ) were waiting for me.The person who answered the phone said that the car will be in 5 min. Then he asked where I was going to. I explained that I have to go and take my kids back to the hotel but it shouldn't be a problem because my two children were already waiting for me next to the main building at the Canyon Lounge. He said that he didn't have a car and hang up the phone. I called and said that the driver can leave me there, and I would figured out how to get back. The person was so mean : I kept calling him back but he kept hanging up.I called him six times hoping that he was a human being. Waste of time... That individual was very rude and indangered my children by not taking me to the location that he told me he was going to take me to. There was a heavy snow outside and my kids in wet clothing were waiting for me for a long time until I took the bus. read more

I do not recommend this company! I tried calling for a cab to take us to a dinner for a friends birthday. I was told to hold while they checked and they hung up on me and would not pick up when I called back several times. Another friend called right after me and they picked up right away. They clearly lack professionalism. A simple 'no' over the phone would have been fine, but I did not appreciate being treated that way. read more

Marco was awesome! We called this company to pick us up from Vons during a crazy hour in the middle of a storm. He showed up in less than 10 mins, helped us load all the groceries, then even helped to bring bags to our front door through piles of snow. Totally stoked on these guys! read more

i wish i could give zero stars. ive never had a worse cab ride in my life. the driver threatened to kick us out if the car, yelled at us, and drove too aggressively. he was driving fast and disregarded stop signs. also on our second drive, the driver said we had 30 seconds until our friend came out. as my friend opened the car door, the driver started driving before she was in the car. and this happened twice in one night with two different drivers. save yourself and dont use mammoth lakes cabs read more
