MamMoth Bakery is the best bakery shop and best customer service in LA! Not only their bakery taste amazing but my atopic won't react with them. Their customer service are amazing and make me happy and feel warm every time I visit. True customer service and omotenashi,

Jess N.

Located inside Tokyo Central market on the right as you walk into the store. Very tiny shop offering Japanese sandwiches, buns, pastry, and I think cake (shown on their website). Though my interactions at the shop were brief, I was assisted by a very sweet lady at the register. My order: Cod roe bread ( French bread smeared with roe. Light and flavorful) Cod roe with shrimp bread (Tons of flavor in every bite) Walnut bread slice (Light and fluffy) Everything was yummy! It was reminiscent to my old favorite Clover Bakery, located up in the bay area. Must go back and try other goodies. What you need to know: - Located inside of Tokyo Central Market - No outside food is allowed inside the market but you can hold it to enter the mini food court section - Parking is ample inside a plaza - Gets busy during peak hours - They have a bread slicer - You can order a cake from their website.

4.5 stars. Got 2 items here since I came here around 5pm Curry pan-Not as good as Curry House..but then again, it wasn't fried to order. The batter was a bit thick and it wasn't at all spicy. However, it was good enough that I finished it all. Chicken Sandwich-Really delicious. Breaded chicken with tomato and shredded cabbage on white chewy bread with sweet bbq like sauce. Can find this at the refrigerator. http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/YdO78cC88f7rp1XLNxWc_Q/l Will be back for the sandwiches when I go on my trips to San Diego!

Black sesame custard $3.39

We ordered a small item (black sesame custard) for $3.39. According to yelp reviews, this bakery is suppose to be a hit! We'll find out soon. It's located inside the Murakai Supermarket.

Stopped by here with my husband last Saturday to feed my sweet tooth. This bakery is located in the Marukai Market (in the Pacific Square Plaza), so it is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. Anyways, we ended up purchasing a few things like the honey thick toast, Madeline cookies, curry pork pastry & a cinnamon donut looking pastry (not sure of the exact names of these baked goods). My husband and I shared a few bites of the thick honey toast after we purchased it and it was delicious, but very carb filling! I loved the little Madeline cookies and were moist even a few days after purchasing. My husband liked his curry pastry (he ate it after a few days after purchasing and he said it wasn't dry). The cinnamon pastry wasn't anything special to me and a little dry (that could possibly be due to the fact that I ate it a few days after purchasing). This pastry reminded me of a donut since it was round with a hole in the middle. But I think this pastry was baked instead of deep fried. I think I would have preferred a cinnamon cream filling instead of this pastry rolled or coated in cinnamon. I can see why this place has an overall rating of 4.5 stars (at the time of this review). I will be sure to come back here the next time I am in the area for sure. By the way, there is a $5 minimum for credit card transactions. You can also purchase shaved ice here, which I haven't tried yet but will the next time I come.

Bread selections

I didn't like there bread that much. The service was nice. Friendly. The price is on the higher price especially for its quality. But I won't be going there again.

Green tea shave ice special $3.75
Santi T.

A bakery with green tea shave ice?!? Would you believe yes?!? We came to this location in the Marukai Shopping Center on a very hot October day to order the green tea shave ice special ($3.75) and were very pleased with the strong Japanese matcha flavor covered condensed milk. This reminded me of the cripsy ice flakes instead of the fluffy Hawaiian shave ice. The only bummer was they ran out of green tea ice cream that accompanied with the special. Unfortunately, I did not purchase any baked goods but they looked incredibly delicious! They have an onsite bakery which carries breads, desserts and pastries. Maybe on my next visit I'll make time and carb up here.

A year ago, when I entered the Pacific Square market, right at the entrance to the food aisles sit a display rack of Cream Pan baked goods. Back when Cream Pan was all the rage from our neighbors in the south. It was a bit embarrassing because the display was right across from MamMoth Bakery. A punch in the gut would have been better than this insult what the supermarket put them through. A year later with much better sense of taste buds and a bit more keen eye, I decided to go back to the same place again. The bakery got accustomed to people walking about and just gawked at baked goods. It doesn't seemed like the people who worked there will helped you right away unless you stood at their counter long enough. After you get through the notion of waiting to be waited upon, the staff will assist in what you needed. There seemed to be a lot of European influenced with a bit of Japanese recipe. Especially with the enriched white bread with fruit pastries on top. Just looking at these pastries makes you wondered where have they been http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/K4PCQ7eMG4jdA9uKcEYbig?select=oLKpbsVkUaMmEk_wO4ssCg . My favorite is the croquette sandwich: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/K4PCQ7eMG4jdA9uKcEYbig?select=Qf7ZqEXHm8Ki6qSN5r07JA A nice pork cutlet sandwich wrapped in the enriched white bread I was talking about and go along with the fresh lettuce and tomato. if there is ever a thing that would hit the spot, this would do it. There is just so many different things to try. I had a feeling they had something new cooked up every single time. To me, I think the non-sweet pastries are the ones that are popular at this place with their baked loaf of bread. As in for Cream Pan, they pretty much disappeared and banished to the other corners that is far from this place. Personally, I think it's done so because it's conflct of interest. Then again, not quite sure why they don't put out Cream Pan stuffs. Oh, don't confuse this place with Beard Papa. As much I loved the old bearded Santa elf, it's not as popular in this quasi food court as the small bakery that can do. You can't missed the bakery since it's on the east end entrance. ---------------- CASH Only with ATM right in walking distance.

Just a teen doing her Job. :) One of my friends ordered the peach mango smoothie, good but a bit water down. Prefer a little more thickness to smoothies. I got the strawberry shake which was super delicious! Highly recommend! My other friend ordered the cookies and cream shake. Everyone seemed to like the cookies and cream the best (I'm not a fan of chocolate so my opinion wouldn't count in this situation lol). The Carmel frappe was good as well. The pan dulces were fresh and very flavorful. This location is off a main street so it's easy to find. There's plenty of free parking. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

I ordered the strawberry cream croissant, and it was absolutely amazing. It was light, airy, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The pastry itself was perfectly flaky and buttery every bite was delicious. I can definitely see why this place is such a big hit! I also tried the iced condensed coffee. It was definitely strong, but also incredibly creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. It paired perfectly with the croissant. Another plus is that they have plenty of parking and lots of seating, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a coffee and dessert. Few key notes: * There's a small free private parking lot and it is almost never 100% full even during busy hours. * While the bakery closes at 7 PM, come before lunch hours to get the full selection of baked goods and refrigerated sandwich options; otherwise, many of these items sell out before closing time. * Plenty of indoor tables, but no outdoor seating. * S-tier items: strawberry croissant, sticky bun, steamed pork bun. * A-tier items: half turkey avocado sandwich, pork katsu sandwich box. * B-tier items: almond croissant, drip coffee. This is a nice grab-and-go spot for anyone who is looking for a quick bite and quality baked goods. Personally, this is not an ideal first-date spot or a place for really good coffee - stick with places like Corridor Flow just few blocks away.

I would imagine a nice spot to get some work done or have a nice chat. I got their signature latte and it was very good. It was on the sweeter side for me but that was just me that day. Some days I prefer sweeter! I also go a few pastries: Cream Cheese garlic bread, jalapeño spam croissant, and a chestnut mochi. I brought them home and heated them up to share and it was a hit with everyone. I assume they would also heat it up by request if you stay there but not sure. I didn't get their names but the two people that served me that day (11/19/25) were very nice and quick. I didn't feel rushed while I was choosing at all. Definitely a solid option for anyone looking for a sweet treat.

The service wasn't great and only one drink was good or correct. I'm still not 100% sure one of…read morethem was the correct drink. I ordered 2 drinks through the app yesterday, the Honey Bori Latte (seasonal) and the Banana Milk Latte. The Banana Milk Latte was delicious once everything was mixed well, but the Honey Bori Latte was just bitter and then less bitter when mixed. It was already half melted, there was no salted honey cold foam or Jolly Pong which is supposed to be part of the drink. I got the order to go, so I didn't notice that my drink was wrong until I got home, so I couldn't even get it corrected. I didn't realize the drink was wrong at first. I thought it was just a flavor I didn't like even though I noted that I couldn't taste Barley at all. Then half way throught it, I decided to look at the description on the app to remember what it was supposed to taste like because it tasted like an ordinary flavorless latte. The description said there's barley milk, salted honey cold foam and Jolly Pong. That's when it hit me that I either got the wrong drink or someone didn't make it right because there was no flavor of salted honey and definitely no Jolly Pong in my drink. It didn't even look like I had cold foam topping my drink, but maybe that's because it was melting already. Overall, I was very upset and disappointed with my drink, but was happy my mom's drink was fine. Now this is only a part of why I was dissapointed with yesterday's experience. The other reason was the app and workers. Maybe the workers aren't used to working with the Smoking Tiger app yet? Or maybe the app still needs work, but the drinks I ordered through the app took forever to be marked ready even though my drinks had been ready for some time which was obvious because my Honey Bori Latte was already half mixed because the layers of ingredients were melting into each other. I arrived at the cafe about 5 minutes after ordering, but the app's estimated wait time was another 10 minutes which wasn't a problem for me, especially since I saw a person waiting for his order and some people inside the cafe, although it wasn't full like usual. I just assumed some people ordered before me, so I just have to wait a bit, which again was fine with me especially since I was waiting for my mom to arrive. At some point after the one person waiting for their drink left, I realized the 2 girls at the counter were just talking and not making any drinks. I checked the app and it still said my order was being prepared. After 2 more people ordered their drinks and received them immediately, I went up to the counter, by this point it had been the app's estimated 10 minute wait. I told the girl with glasses my name and showed her the order on my phone. Then she walked toward the fridge and got my drinks, put them in a drink carrier, passed them to me and then turned around while looking at the receipt paper that was with the drinks. That was it. She didn't tell me which drink was which and they were not labeled, so my mom and I just had taste them to figure out which was which. At most places, they let you know which drink is which, so I was just confused with the service I received, especially when the place wasn't busy. And to top it all off, my order was marked completed 10 minutes after I received my order which again just left me in confusion. I usually love this place and was saddened when they got rid of their Choco Mugwort drink, but I'm always looking forward to their seasonal drinks and baked goods. This time though, I don't think I was even able to taste one of their new seasonal drinks because it tasted like a regular latte with milk. I want to try their other current seasonal drinks, but I'm also worried about what I will receive in the future and I'm not ready for another disappointing coffee any time soon.
