Went there again to enjoy the Alabama playoff game at the bar with some friends. Love this place. My server on Saturday during the game was incredible! Never once waited on a refill or a few drinks. Got to enjoy the game on a huge TV. The appetizers were served quickly. Highly recommend the bruschetta they make there the old school authentic Italian way. The cheese bread was fantastic. I would like to see a few more craft beer selections and the tiramisu should be available more often! But other than those two criticisms, this place is excellent. I cannot say enough about this food. I couldn't even snap a picture before I started eating. The eggplant. Parmesan was a perfect ratio of eggplant and breading.. My husband had the baked Italian sausage and meatball dish with ziti pasta. The meatball were superb and classic Italian. The marinara sauce is light and fresh and not too salty adding Parmesan cheese gave it the perfect bite. The pizza has the perfect glutenous pull that you're looking for when you have a good slice of pizza. Being a recent transplant from California I've been been searching high and low for good food in Tennessee and this by far has surpassed any restaurant that I have tried as far as quality and taste of food. I have eaten here twice. The first time was about a year ago. I had the eggplant parmesan and it was really good. My husband had the lasagne and he was happy too. Recently we went again with a bigger group (9 people) and I wasn't impressed with the food. I got a stromboli with spinach and cheese. It was 100 percent flavorless. The sauce on the side was just ok. I had to add salt and some red pepper flakes to give it some zing. The whole plate was just bland and the cheese wasn't really melty. It was a bit hard "ish". So three stars: 1. For the yummy eggplant parmesan. 2. For the lovely staff who are very sweet and helpful. 3. Great place to go with a large group. -1. For the bland food the 2nd time. -1. For the volume. I couldn't talk to anyone except the person immediately next to me because the volume in the restaurant was LOUD. I would definitely go again but I would order the eggplant again and keep my fingers crossed. I'd also suggest it for a large boisterous group. Also, I left a 30% tip because I am not heartless and our server worked her tail off and it's a crime that servers are only paid like $2.35 (or something like that) an hour here in Cookeville TN. read more

The service was very good considering the number of people they were serving with our group. Prices were ok, slightly higher than other local places we've been to, but, just a little. It was clean, cheerful, and staff was very helpful and friendly. My chicken parm was just ok....clarification, chicken was awesome!!, sauce was a little disappointing, on both chicken & spaghetti. My wife stated the same on her spaghetti and meat sauce. We will definitely be back and try something different. If 2nd time, flavors are better, will re-rate and give 5 stars. IMO the slice was a great size but also not hot enough for me. It seems like it's been sitting under a tepid lamp. The salads were fresh and the dressings tasty. This place is clean and spacious. Real disappointing tonight, especially when getting pizza for take out to bring home to dinner guests. I called in an order for pick up and got hung up on as I was on hold. It took 8 calls back before the phone was off busy. I proceeded with my pick up order--Sicilian style cheese pizza (square & thick to try) and 2 Neapolitan pizzas (round & thin). The cheese was $14.00 & the 3 topping Neapolitans were $18.50. Our wait would be 45 minutes. My husband and guest drove to pick it up and were told that it would be an additional 15 minutes. And once the pizzas were finally in hand, they brought them back home. The thick, square pizza was a good 1" thick (way too much dough). The sauce was uneven and the cheese drained to the middle pieces. (I posted a picture of the actual pizza in the box to prove that). And for a $14 cheese pizza, the cheese appeared skimpy (especially on the outer squares). The round pizza seemed the better choice. Ordering pizza for pick up next time, I believe I'll go with Little Cesar's Pizza if I want doughy stuff, but the thin there is good because of the crust.
