Food is good to great (and even on the great side). GET TAKEOUT and you will probably really like the food. But the experience of dining in is or can be very stressful. Even if there are only 4 other people in there, it is loud, very loud potentially. There is a section in the front but noone is allowed to use that which is unfortunate because it might be quieter. Wooden chairs do not increase the comfort level. Take out would be great from this place but eat in only if you have gone to so many hockey games that your hearing is shot AND you really don't CARE what your table mates are saying (since hearing them is unlikely). read more

We have eaten at Casa Luna every week for months upon months now and never have we had an issue. However, tonight? We have never been treated SO ugly and hateful by the supposed owner *short, grizzly looking lady, driving the jeep*. We simply sent back a baked Spaghetti Combo because there was literally half the cheese that we normally have bubbling over the top and we were charged an upcharge. When I questioned this at the register, after having to ask for a box two times and a ticket twice as well, the hateful woman became even more rude and threatened to call the police if I didn't pay the upcharge. I tried to explain the situation and that even the sauce was wrong on the dish, but how we still didn't ask for it to be remade because they appeared to be really struggling tonight. This unprofessional, grumpy, slouchy, Karen then took our to-go box and slammed it down into whatever was behind her. The food there is almost always delectable, but we will never drive 40 minutes to give this heifer our money again after her treating us like this. Eventually, treating people like crap will affect you to the point you'll shut your doors. Probably sooner than later, too. As a fellow business owner, your behavior is absolutely disrespectful and your attitude is definitely one that needs adjusting. We will pray for your ugly, hateful, hardened heart! read more

This is a great family diner in Sparta. They have good prices and generous portions. The service is good. The food comes in good time. The breadsticks were a great feature. My family of seven tried a lot of the options and were generally pleased. My chicken fettucinni was decent. The chicken was dry, but the sauce was good and the pasta was done well. Three stars means A-Ok. Feel free to try this place. But when you rank a lot of restaurants, you can't place Casa Luna near the top of the heap. read more

Everyone always have different experiences when dining out. We've ate there once and will never eat there again! My daughter and I ordered the same thing and was sick before we ever left the restaurant! My husband couldn't even eat what he ordered The wait staff was not friendly. the lady came dropped the menu's asked what we wanted to drink. Disappeared for awhile then came back with our drinks, asked if we were ready to order. I said yes and we gave the order for the three of us. She vanished once again. When the food came out it was already cold and she did not offer to refill our glasses. So when we left we gave the insult tip to the waitress. One penny! We found this "Italian" spot on Yelp on day passing through Sparta and decided it was worth a shot since we enjoy local fare wherever we go. Unfortunately, this wasn't the greatest chance we've taken, but it does have tons of potential. We were greeted and seated in the older, cheap section of the dining area. There was a nice looking section, but no one was seated in it. It wasn't busy being 2:00 on a Friday afternoon. Our waitress was a lovely young lady who was either very new at her job, or not very good at it. She would take our order and practically jog back to the kitchen area, but we never did figure out why. We got our drinks and food in a timely manner, but then she disappeared and never reappeared. My dining partner located silverware for me, but no one else got any or napkins. The food: The appetizer cheese sticks were good, the bread sticks were similar to mini loaves they were so big, the rest...kid's pizza, house stromboli, and the Italian sub with fries. The kid's pizza was a thick pan style crust loaded with cheese and was your average pizza. The house stromboli was like a medium crust rolled around fairly good ingredients, but there was so much bread and it was enough for two people. The Italian sub, also huge, decent ingredients, but nothing you can't find somewhere else. Once we finished, we waited for our server to return. We waited, and waited, and watched her working in the other area. We finally gave up and went to ask one of the 4 ladies standing in front (including our waitress) for 2 boxes and our check. She did apologize for forgetting us, which does count for something. Overall, too much food on good bread with decent ingredients that is utterly average served by under trained staff with poor service in a semi-clean cheap dining area. We went here on a Friday night with friends and were worried about arriving late (8:30) but were seated immediately and had our drinks in no time. They have a really good menu with several Italian dishes including Calzone and Stromboli. I had the chicken scarpariello and it was excellent. Others had stromboli and chick florentine and every one was surprised at the quality and taste. They have a good beer selection including Peroni. If you are not into Italian fare, do not worry, the menu has it all. Our waiter was great and we highly recommend this restaurant. I usually do not complain, but I tried the clam chowder at Casa Luna and after two bites just could not take it - I have eaten a lot of clam chowder at many restaurants and know what decent clam chowder tastes like. I explained to the server and asked if I could send it back in exchange for a different soup, she said she would have to check. Upon her return she explained there would be a charge. As we were paying the cashier asked if everything was good, I explained about the clam chowder and her reply was I don't like clam chowder! No apology, no offer to exchange for a different soup (they even said if I got a different soup there would be a charge. I had never had a problem there before and I have dined there many times.
