Food and service was great, Good to Have Kim and Ken back at the helm.. I hope the locals keep on supporting these folk's, they put their heart and soul into this place. Crossville is lucky to have them back!! read more

Don't expect to roll up on these folks and enjoy a meal Sunday- Wednesday. You will be disappointed. Thursday 12:40- party of 4. Complimentary bread arrived at 12:45. Lunch at 1:09. So service felt very well paced. Renee was our server- and she might have been alone- but we didn't suffer for service. The restroom was clean. Located down a long uphill hall. That made no sense. It looked like it could have been 100 years old. I enjoyed the confusion chicken sandwich. Dad had a Philly sandwich. We all ordered our own meal, but couldn't finish. No one shared and leftovers were not boxed. The ticket was presented at 1:30. Lunch for 4 - $74 read more

We didn't realize how packed this place gets and didn't make a reservation. They made a seat for us though and we got great service. Great drinks and real great food. The ambiance is an old school Italian vibe. We will be back and make a reservation this time :) read more

Food here is delicious. They offer many Italian classics along with seafood and steaks. Waitstaff is friendly and professional. I only wish they could be open more days a week. I eat everyday, don't you? read more

Great atmosphere ands plenty of seating for our party of 10 after a last minute reservation! Italian dishes were great and I writer give the rib eye a good resting but will try something else next time. Great stop before you visit the play house for a show! read more

Good place, solid food menu, even as new owners have taken over looks like the food is got the same quality it's had before. I had a steak tonight with the Jack Daniel sauce, wasn't too crazy about the sauce but the steak was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. Instead of a loaded baked potato I got an unloaded baked potato so they bought me the fixings on the side. Also try to margarita which I thought was pretty decent. All in all this is still a solid choice for Crossville. read more

Forte's Restaurant - Steak with Jack Daniels sauce. Unloaded baked potato, by accident, fixings were on the side after the mistake was discovered. - Italian Near Me - Crossville, Tennessee

Food/ Service Have always enjoyed Forte's unfortunate that this restaurant has failed to deliver on our expectations. We will not dine again. Why take very successful restaurant and change it. Service was very poor, stood at door at least 10/15 minutes only people in line And had too wait to finally get seated ( Did have Reservations) The food has gone so far down hill makes you wonder. What's going on with resturant read more

Forte's "Confused Shrimp" appetizer should be renamed, "Better Than Bang Bang" Shrimp! Locally owned, with "hands on" management. Every town should have a "Forte's" read more

Incredible pasta! Amazing service! Funny and witty! And the ambiance is quant! I will definitely be coming back here at least once a week!

I called days in advance for a reservation. got there early and had to wait. 30 minutes after my reservation time walk-ins were being seated before us because they "got here before you did". Poorly managed and over priced mediocre food. I have nothing positive to say about my experience at fortes on the square read more

The food was very tasty and the portions were huge!! Our server was extremely friendly and attentive.

I absolutely love that there's a variety of so many different things to eat. It's excellent food with fast service! The atmosphere is very warming and staff is so attentive. read more

I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. We went for a private function, so perhaps we got the 'B-team', but the fish was the absolute worst I have had in any restaurant. Everything else was nice and I noticed other entre options looks quite good and others seemed to enjoy their meals. We dined here once before in early 2024 and it was very nice, so we may try one more time before giving up. read more

Nice dinner with friends...had a comfortable table in the bar....very good service even though it was a busy Saturday night. My NY Strip Italiano was good...not enough parmesan crusted flavor but cooked a perfect med rare. The Caesar salad was ok, broccoli delicious,,,,,,hubbys rib eye was fatty but good. All in all a very fun evening. read more

It was our wedding anniversary and it was just not good for the price we paid. In ads the steaks have grill marks and mine looked like it came off a flattop and my husbands shrimp dish left him hungry. Then the rolls were dry I had to ask for oil and vinegar to eat them. I was dissapointed will not be going back anytime soon. read more

Gave them another chance, attended a private function, and had the Jack Daniel's glazed steak with baked potato. First the potato was cold!! the steak was so tough I couldn't cut it with a steak knife!! Needless to say we are so done with this awful restaurant!!! read more

This is one of my favorite go to restaurants whenever we're in town. I love the casual atmosphere and the plentiful and amazing food. I know we always have to make a reservation in order to get a spot which just proves how good their food is that there's always a line! I also greatly appreciate that they're willing to cater to a vegan and change things up a bit even from what's on the menu. We have always had a wonderful time and the service never disappoints. I can highly recommend this restaurant but in order to get in when you want please do make a reservation! read more

Made reservations for the evening of Father's Day. Worst dining experience, ever! Did not have 3 of the main dishes we wanted to order, husband's shrimp dish came out cold and looked like shrimp floating in milk! The service was VERY slow. We do NOT recommend Forte's to anyone and will NEVER return! Worst restaurant in Crossville, We should have just gone to McD's!! read more

Not excited about our experience on sept. 6. Fettuccine Alfredo was so watery it should have been advertised as soup. When asked for the price of the special of the day we were told $21.95, when the bill came it was $29.95. I ordered the rib eye medium rare, the cut was so thin that it must have been nearly impossible to grill. I wish I could say our waitress made up for the other shortcomings but she was mostly absent except when it came time for the check read more

This USED TO BE our favorite place but since the new ownership food has gone down hill BAD. I ordered chicken and got 5 DRY BREAD strips I didn't eat and the sides were on different plates. Now the table is crowded and I'm handicapped wanted a booth they put us in a corner. I told waitress I didn't enjoy the food and she said sorry wallked away NO ONE came to speak of it. So I spent 56.00 to go to burgerking. Sorry but it's the truth read more

If you haven't been to Forte's lately, you might be disappointed. Ownership has changed and nearly all the staff has changed and not for the better. They don't smile and seem over worked. We placed our order and after 15 minutes had to ask for our salad and soup. We had to ask for bread and what we got were stale end pieces that a knife wouldn't cut. The vegetables in the soup were still raw and the broth flavorless. My wife has food allergies and ordered her entree with no seasoning but it was highly seasoned when brought to the table. The owners were no where to be seen. Definitely not what we were used to and we have eaten here nearly every week for 8 years. But no more. It was very difficult to have a conversation because of the loud parties. read more

Crossville's answer to fine dining has little work to do to achieve this title. Hubby and I both had a juicy prime rib which was promptly devoured. He opted for the Tuscan veggie side which I also ate a few bites since it was loaded with garlic but very tasty. I opted for salad for a starter so I sadly only had a baked potato with my meal. I would have liked the option to have a green vegetable with my meal. I was a little surprised at the limited wine list but hope that will expand as the new owner finds his footing. We had a great waitress for service but unfortunately I can't tell you her name since the noise level of the establishment didn't allow us to hear her or each other. The poor woman had to keep repeating herself for us to understand what she was asking. Hopefully, they will figure out a way to dampen the sound without losing the charming rustic look of the tin ceiling which I blame for this issue. We will definitely go back but maybe it's less crazy noisy for lunch - I'll let you know. read more

It must have been good. My family all had seconds. Although I couldn't eat anything due to food allergies. They were nice to let me bring my own food. I don't think the cook liked it because he came by and said something snarky. But maybe he was just being funny. Oh well. Happy Mother's Day!! It was a nice time here. Thank you for being nice. read more

Even with new owners, same 'ol, same 'ol, food. Nothing impressive. Any Italian sauce taste like a can of tomatoes with no flavor. Disappointed. read more

Amazing! We were on our anniversary trip and I'm from New Jersey so I'm picky with Italian places and I could tell by the pictures it was legit! Sure enough the original owners were from NJ! They apparently just sold so I hope the new owners keep it going strong! They seem to be! Food was great and not over priced at all, large portions and you can bring your own wine for a $11 cork fee! We left spending under $100 with an app and 2 entrees! We had a wonderful time and out waitress Sarah was exceptional! If we are ever in this area again we'll be back! Cannolis are on point!!!! Atmosphere was great too! Love the old Italian feel! read more

Some food is good & service is good. One star for the owner - angry orange haired lady. It's my 4th time & every time she ruins the experience, with her grumpy scowls, bickering with customers, demeaning to her staff, or turning a simple mistake into a full blown argument when she's clearly been proven wrong. If she'd stay home, it'd probably be a great place. read more

Steak salads (both) made up of fatty steak off-cuts - complete absence of quality control. No Chef should have prepared a meal of such a low quality - we will eat elsewhere in the future read more

My husband and I made reservations for Saturday the 25th at 5:30. The place was busy, good sign. We were seated fairly quickly by a pleasant young lady. Our server arrived promptly, took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to look over the menu. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. We were brought a half loaf of bread, approximately 4 inches in length. Then about 15 minutes later we noticed another couple had been seated and received a whole loaf. I guess they ran out and they made more. For our dinner we ordered: Signature Dish" Seafood Symphony Sauteed Shrimp & Scallops served with Lobster Ravioli in a Creamy Crab Sauce with French onion soup as a side choice The French onion soup was bland, not much taste, the scallops had quite a bit of sand in them. Signature Dish" Chicken on the Square Sauteed Sliced CHicken Breast with, Sun Dried Tomatoes, Artichoke Hearts, Asiago Cheese Cream Sauce with broccoli and a tossed salad as the sides. Not much to the salad, smothered in dressing, iceberg lettuce some shredded cheddar and a few chunks of diced tomato. The broccoli was cold in spots and water logged. The dinner was in so much sauce I had to sift through it to find the chicken and the artichokes. Unfortunately very disappointed in the whole meal and the service. Not once did the server ask is everything ok, just picked up the dirty dishes and asked if we needed a refill on the soda. read more

Price has gone up bread gotten smaller doesn't taste as good as it used to service was adequate was very disappointed

I must admit I was not expecting to find a top notch Italian restaurant in Crossville, TN. I'm happy to admit I was wrong! Everything from the salad to the bread to the entree was spot on. The pricing was perfect! The portion size allowed me to take leftovers for lunch the next day. I have no complaints about my experience at Forte's. My go-to in an Italian restaurant is chicken Parmesan. Theirs may have been the best I've ever had; yes, you heard me right. It was perfectly tender chicken with the most amazing sauce. I loved every bite. It was surprisingly just as good reheated, and I normally can't eat reheated chicken, but this was an exception. My husband's go to is simple spaghetti and meatballs. He loved it! I took his leftovers for lunch as well, and they did not disappoint. They have a wife dessert menu, but we were too stuffed to consider eating anything sweet. I'm definitely going to save room next time, as those desserts looked so yummy. Speaking of next time...I can't wait! (My only suggestion would be to add lasagna to the menu. It's my second fave.) read more

We arrived in town Saturday evening and since the restaurant is closed Sunday - Tuesday had to wait 3 days to catch it open and were afraid that the restaurant would not live up to the anticipation but glad to find that it did. We did not have reservations but only had to wait about 10 minutes for a lunch seating. We found the staff to be attentive and friendly and more concerned about our wait time than we were. I had the clam chowder and the prime rib. The chowder was was not as thick as I am use to, but was very good and the side salad was a decent size. The prime rib is broiled, so initially it appeared to be more done than I like, but the inside was just perfect. The prime rib was served with horseradish sauce and delicious au jus. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was a little over cooked to his liking as he prefers it al dente, but he enjoyed it and said the meatballs were very good. The portion of spaghetti was large enough to make two meals out of it. read more

Went to lunch and had their "Maryland Crab Cakes". The crab cakes were a lot of cake and very little crab. Being from the Chesapeake bay area, I can assure you that what I was served was not Maryland Crab Cakes. The service was ok, but we had to ask for tartar sauce four times before we got some. If we go back I will certainly get something other than the crab cakes. read more

Not bad for date in Crossville Tennesseewe both got chicken parm & it was pretty good! Or maybe it was the 10 pounds of Grated cheese I put on it. LOL, but that'sjust how I roll. Service & Ambience was pretty good too. read more

Went with a large group (12) tonight and all was okay till bills received and one of our party asked about the .25 cent charge for salad dressing and the female owner said it was because they make all their dressing from scratch. Then the question was asked so you get no dressing you just get greens and she took offense and got very condescending and walked away mouthing, then went around the corner saying she yelled at her to another employee, which she didn't. I approached her and said she was wrong speaking to her that way and proceeded to get mouthy with me then sent her husband to ask me what the problem was and I said you need to teach her how to speak with customers which he then took offense. Anyway things went south from there he threatens to have me removed which I informed him not needed I'll pay my bill, leave and never be back. The owners attitude and the whole incident cost them 12 customers who will never be back and worse we will tell others and so on. The owner when questioned should have quickly said I'll remove the charge and problem solved. There were other things that happened during the service but if owners are going to speak to customers like that and not learn to control their emotions then so be it. read more

My husband and I stopped by this restaurant since I found this on Yelp and it looked like it received a lot of good reviews. I definitely will have to say for an Italian restaurant in Crossville, this place is really good. Growing up in Los Angeles area, we have so many awesome Italian restaurants; that compared to LA or NY, this place is ok. However, it's a good place to eat; if you're in Crossville. I ordered the downtown garlic shrimp and my husband ordered the Jack Daniel glazed salmon. Between the two, Jack Daniel glazed salmon; by far won! I wished I ordered the salmon over my shrimp. The dessert we shared was the Italian cake. Very light and not too sweet. We both enjoyed our dessert. If you like seafood, definitely order the salmon. read more

We had such a great dinner at Fortes. The ambiance was great, the sever (Jack) answered our numerous questions with a smile and the meal was timed well. We never felt rushed. We had prime rib with shrimp, a shrimp cocktail and drinks. Everything tasted fresh and was served at the appropriate temperature. Even the sides were good. We are here on vacation and will probably never be back here but if we ever are in this area we would definitely come back read more
