We stumbled upon Christy's pub grub while taking a drive from Knoxville one fine Sunday afternoon. Just kickin' the dust and rust off the ole jalopy so to speak. CPG, What a find! We were delighted with the food which can best be described as rich, of pretty high-quality and super tasty to boot!! And, all without emptying yer derned wallet.
The owners--a delightful husband [Kevin] and wife [Christy] team--were very gracious, pleasant and kind. The decor is eclectic and visually stimulating within a historic setting. You can look for hours and never see the same thing twice, serving my ADD quite well, thank you very much. It is conveniently located and with plenty of parking in the old downtown section of Crossville. K&C offer a variety of entertainment and love to party, in a down-home wholesome kinda way. We were not there at the time they had one of their break out flash parties, but we heard great things about it. We actually look forward to returning when we have time to stay and enjoy one of their theme party shindigs.
But let's get back to the food, undoubtedly the best part of this fine dining establishment. As mentioned in the beginning, this is not for the steamed broccoli and snow peas crowd. So don't you go into this thinking otherwise--as if you're going to weigh in 5 pounds lighter the next morning--because, as Steven Tyler would tell you, Dream On. But, that's OK. That's sort of the point. You only live once. Decadence rules the day at Christy's. So let down your hair man! And, by "man", I mean Ladies & Gents.
Oh yeah, the food... The burgers are fabulous! We had the grilled cheese burger that nearly killed me in a orgasmic cardiac arrest sort of way. I swear I saw Jesus as consciousness left me... and, wouldn't you know, Jesus (or whoever spoke to me) told me that he would spare me under two conditions: that I write a good review for Christy and Kevin and that I promised to return to Christy's. Easiest deal I ever made! I can't wait to get back and do it all over again. As my friend Mick once noted, Wild Horses Couldn't Keep Me Away!!!
Oh, and not to name drop, but we were told by a reliable source, [eh-hmmm, Kevin, the owner] that they will be expanding soon, both inside and out so don't be intimidated by thoughts that you might have trouble getting a table. Like Stevie Ray would advise, This Joint is a Rockin' so don't bother Knockin', just slide on over and come on in!
We're definitely looking forward to our next visit! read more
