Chicken fried steak, green beans, mashed potatoes. Pretty solid food.

Good beer selection, full menu and waisted very nice. This was a friendly place with lots of varied offerings so our table of eight fared well.

I'm torn between 3 to 4 stars on this one...compared to an average chain restaurant, Reds Ale House would have 4 stars. Compared to a small town mom/pop restaurant, I'd give them 3 stars. Highlights of our meal: New England Clam Chowder, Chili and Wings were on point. All items in the menu are priced well with good portion sizes. The fried seafood, fried green beans and country fried steak all tasted like prepared frozen items...doesn't mean they were bad, they just weren't anything to knock your socks off. The ranch was average tasting. Sweet potato waffle fries were good, but I sprinkled sugar on them (no honey drizzle or topper). The homemade meatloaf meal was enjoyed by 3 in our group- note that they serve it with a brown gravy. Dinner for 5 of us- including 2 appetizers and 20 wings- was $112. Not a bad price, at all! For Covid curious guests: we were the only people wearing masks (servers are not masked up). They did wipe down our table before we sat, but pretty confident that's only because there were dishes still there from previous guests. Waitress takes your cup to the back to refill sodas. There aren't too many options in this town for a sit down meal, so I do recommend to give this place a try. The items that are good really do taste great :)

When we arrived, we could see only like 3 tables filled yet they almost turned us away because we told them we didn't have reservations. The server then said he could seat us but they only have one person preparing the food (not sure if that is always the case here). We sat down and ordered a pizza and then the server tells us it will be 30+ mins because they are down from 4 to 2 pizza ovens. So we wait. While we wait, I hear another server tell a nearby table they are down to only 1 oven and it would be even longer of a wait for them. The ambiance and service just felt off and weird, but there were very limited options in the area and we were hungry. The staff were sort of standoffish. Our pizza arrived and I was a bit worried but it turned out to be really good. The server told us they make the crust and things in house. That was a pleasant surprise. I'd go back for the food but they need to improve on the rest.

My husband however, on his own reconnaissance decided to surprise me Tuesday night , by bringing home dinner. He went to this establishment and purchased pork and ribs. Along with the meat he also had two different containers of BBQ sauce. When I asked where he got it from I tried my best to not look disappointed. I opened the container of pork and could see right away that it was DRY! I typically don't use sauce, but I added it anyway to moisten the meat. After a few minutes of attempting to chew and swallow the ball of dried pork, I spit it out in the trash. It was not only dry but had ZERO flavor. I then tried the ribs. They were moist and cooked perfectly, but again, NO FLAVOR! Wondering if they have something against seasoning the meat. It's the thought that counts on the surprise dinner, but definitely would NOT advise going to The Flying Pig for their alleged BBQ meat. The BBQ sauce was great!
