    Fried calamari was ok

What a fun & casual eatery/diner to go to for Colombian food! Friendly service, though I found that it helps if you know a bit of Spanish. Food was delicious with an exception. I did enjoy the mofongos, churrasco but the chicharrón was hard, impossible to bite into. Would still go back to try other things!

Beautifully decorated in a casual updated atmosphere. Lots of bakery choices. We've always enjoyed our meals here. Bandeja Paisa is our go-to dish. They reorganized the menu since the last time we were here and put the Mexican dishes in a section. So in addition to Colombian they also have Mexican. We had Flautas today. Both were very good. No room for dessert!

Ordered chicharron to go... $7.50 for this??? I got a bigger piece at El Bohio (formally club mia) as a sample... this is some bs fr ‍‍‍ go to el bohio if you want some good food. They aren't stingy and their prices are way better.

    Veggie Greek Omelette Breakfast

Food: food was delicious! I got the Greek omelette and tried some of the other platters. The pan de queso was delicious, paired perfectly with my cappuccino. The passion fruit cheesecake does not taste like it's made in house, probably outsourced somewhere- I would skip out on it and try another pastry instead. Wish the chicharron was more crispy. Overall pretty good Service: we came here on a Saturday afternoon around 12 pm and it was surprisingly not too busy. Lots of empty tables around us. food took a while to come out (over 30 minutes) but it was fine bc we had some bites of bread and coffee to hold us over. Ambiance: good casual lunch spot if you want some Colombian food. Had some subtle music which was nice to listen to.

Picadera Colombiana, Plain Mofongo y empanadas

I really love coming to this place. I love that they have a variety of dishes from different countries, giving us more options to enjoy. The Trifongo is my go to by choice because I can't get it in any other place around me. I have had it with chicharron, steak, shrimp and alone. The rice and beans are great. The picadera Colombiana is a hearty dish of pork belly, sausage, beef, platains and arepas. I've even enoyed their salads and more. Just thinking about it all makes my mouth watery. The picadera is something you want to give a try on your first visit, the have it under appetizers so you can share with your party. I have also enjoyed many desserts such as quesitos, tornillos, carrot cake and much more. Staff is attentive and very knowledgable of their menu. Prices are reasonable Place is clean and comfy. Highly recommended.

Now this is what I'm talking about! You want a restaurant to wow you with flavor and service? This is the spot for you! Monfongo was incredible. Deep rich garlic taste. Chicken was moist with a slight sear. Sides of avocado. Amazing. Cubano was spot on. Huge sandwich with savory roast pork and ham. My preference would have been a more panini style bread with sliced flat pickles. But no complaints here. Can't wait to go back to try more of their delicious food.

    Mangu

Great locals spot in Pleasantville. We got the recommended Mangu. Delicious breakfast with muffungo, eggs, fried cheese and fried salami with sliced avocado.. Huge selection of pastries and empanadas. Great hot food buffet items as well.

Did the upstairs ever become a banquet hall? How many people can it fit?

When I was there recently i did not see a 2nd floor... but the main floor was captivating enough. It's definitely worth a call or visit to be sure. Good luck

This is a great place with authentic cuisine. We started with the chicken Empanadas which were crispy on the outside and full of delicious flavors on the inside. I'm sorry we didn't try the beef and cheese ones...maybe next time. The seafood paella was full of shrimp, octopus, mussels and chorizo over seasoned rice with fried onions, red peppers and peas. The chorizo was so good I got a few to take home. The ropa vieja was beef which was slow cooked to the point of falling apart and melting in your mouth with potatoes and a side of rice. There were three in my party and we all had at least seconds and still had some leftovers. Very enjoyment meal and would recommend.

First, I want to make it clear that the waitresses were wonderful -- attentive, kind, and hardworking. My issue is not with the staff, but with the way management handled the billing and gratuity situation. Both times, my bill should have been around $66, yet I was charged about $85 because gratuity had already been added. I didn't realize this at first and was also leaving an additional 20% tip on top of it. I feel this is misleading to customers, especially for such a small bill where automatic gratuity is uncommon. When I questioned it, the owner came out and explained the gratuity policy in a very confrontational and dismissive manner instead of handling the concern professionally. I tried to explain that either the servers are not receiving enough directly, or customers are unknowingly overpaying because the gratuity is not made clear enough. At the end, I adjusted my payment by removing the extra $17 tip I had intended to leave and kept the automatic gratuity charge of $12. I also placed an additional $5 cash tip in the envelope specifically for my waitress because she truly deserved it. What upset me even more was seeing the owner immediately take that cash and place it into the general tip box. Again, the servers were excellent. My disappointment is entirely with management's handling of customers and gratuities.
