Traveled to Atlantic city for a weekend and as always, I was craving colombian food. Found this restaurant and wow they did not disappoint. For starters, our waitress was extremely kind and sweet we had great conversation. We got the colombian burger which was amazing and perfectly cooked. The paisa was perfect tasted just like home. Authentic as it should be. And as always my absolute favorite, traditional colombian empanadas. I think we do it best and this place definitely did it perfectly. I came across Mambo Cafe on DoorDash and I'm so glad I did. I wa staying at a hotel and ordered food for delivery. The food was packaged well and hot on delivery. They also gave me two sets of cutlery which was a win for me. Most places usually forget to add cutlery. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa| 8oz NY Strip Steak. The meal came with steak, sausage, pork belly, white rice & beans, sweet plantains, Colombian corn cake,fried egg and avocado. All for $23 (in 2025). I also got a Goodo brand cola champagne. Money well spent because the food was delicious. The portion size was enough for two servings. Everything was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I live two hours away and am willing to drive the distance for the food again it was that good. Ten out of ten definitely recommend. read more

Excellent service. I can't say enough about the wait staff of the counter personnel. They explain, in great detail, every menu item or take out option. The food is authentic, well made and huge portions. There is something on this menu for everyone whether you are adventurous or just looking for basic scrambled eggs. Every heat level is also available. The dining area is clean clean clean, nicely decorated and spacious. My family and I eat here regularly for breakfast and dinner. I just haven't been for lunch yet in all the years I've been going to Mambo. I'll have to change that. read more

We stopped for cake & coffee after having lunch elsewhere out doing weekly errands. Food: food was delicious! I got the Greek omelette and tried some of the other platters. The pan de queso was delicious, paired perfectly with my cappuccino. The passion fruit cheesecake does not taste like it's made in house, probably outsourced somewhere- I would skip out on it and try another pastry instead. Wish the chicharron was more crispy. Overall pretty good Service: we came here on a Saturday afternoon around 12 pm and it was surprisingly not too busy. I really love coming to this place. I love that they have a variety of dishes from different countries, giving us more options to enjoy. The Trifongo is my go to by choice because I can't get it in any other place around me. I have had it with chicharron, steak, shrimp and alone. The rice and beans are great. The picadera Colombiana is a hearty dish of pork belly, sausage, beef, platains and arepas. I've even enoyed their salads and more. Just thinking about it all makes my mouth watery. The picadera is something you want to give a try on your first visit, the have it under appetizers so you can share with your party. I have also enjoyed many desserts such as quesitos, tornillos, carrot cake and much more. Staff is attentive and very knowledgable of their menu. Prices are reasonable Place is clean and comfy. Chicken was moist with a slight sear. Sides of avocado. Amazing. Cubano was spot on. Huge sandwich with savory roast pork and ham. OK. Let's start with WOW. So, a local turned me on to this place. And it totally lived up. Parking could be a little issue. They have parking across the street in someone else's lot. Parking in the street is 3hr, of you find a spot. When you walk in, you see a very nice, modern restaurant. Lots of space. Big tables. Comfy chairs. Great big glass display of luscious desserts. I was flying solo and got a table for 6 for myself. Plenty of social distancing. The staff was very pleasant and quick to take care of you. The menu was full of interesting dishes. Columbian, Puerto Rican, Dominican, etc. I wanted to try a few dishes, they all sounded good. I settled for the Bestec Ensebollado, steak and onions. It comes with Rice&Beans and plantains. There was plenty of food on the plate. Big portions. Note to self, get an empanada. There will be plenty of time to eat that while you wait for the meal. The meal arrived and I couldn't wait to hit it. The food was better than I expected. It took me back to the time when I was a kid and the family would order take out. What a treat that was and so was this. The taste was really good. Not over powering or lacking flavor. You could add some pepper sauce or other sauces but I thought it was excellent just like it came out of the kitchen. I was going to try a dessert but man, I was full. So I ordered a quesito. You have a few different filling. On this day, someone mixed up the different choices. I got my order and it was the guava not the cheese. They brought a second one out and it wasn't right. LOL. I couldn't try a third. Both were good but not what I ordered. So it's not a totally bad thing, Right? Look, in a nut shell. You gotta try this place. The food is awesome. The service is good. First, I have to add the disclaimer that I'm originally from Elizabeth, NJ and then moved to Union, NJ.. Colombian food is like childhood and DELICIOUSNESS for me. I absolutely love good Colombian food. We stopped off at Mamboa Cafe and picked up a class bandeja paisa (of course) and there is a choice of ground beef and steak. Get the steak, obviously. The meat is thicker than most Colombian restaurants which means it was dried out in the cooking process. I was absolutely impressed if not blown away by their preparation here. The chicharon is the star of the show of course and the portion size was generous and well prepared. EVERYTHING about a bandeja paisa is amazing for me. There's simply no better dish at a Colombian restaurant (for me). We also ordered a $10 pernil entree which came with a ton of pork, rice, beans, and two large tostones. Omg this was literally the best bang for your buck at $10. The Cubano was slightly disappointing. It had the makings/ingredients of a cubano but it wasnt pressed properly as a a classic Cubano should have. We went home and grill pressed it again and it was better leftover at lunch. The portion size again was huge and came with a crazy amount of crispy hot french fries. In addition, I ordered an assortment of breads, dessert/flan, and empanadas to go. Very good. The breads weren't the best I've had but decent. Empanadas are better at my spot near home but everything else was quite excellent and I'll definitely be back! read more

A bit of a hole in the wall (the inside is still pretty roomy) and half of the place is a bakery (which I still need to go back and try)! Cost: The average cost is not too bad. If you don't want to spend too much then there are plenty of options of choose from that won't break the wallet! If you want to splurge a little, there are slightly pricer plates to choose from but nothing too expensive! Environment : Very roomy and bright! They brought pure jar to my heart. We err looking for a place to host a brunch for one of my closest friends bachelorette and they were soooo accommodating. They offered us a beautiful spot in the restaurant and allowed us to decorate. The staff is very sweet- all of us were relieved to have found this gem. Now the food-- I danced in my seat lol. I ordered mangu, a side of chicharron and the mango drink. Everything was absolutely delicious. My friends ordered mofongo and were just as pleased. I eat here at least one day every time I come to Atlantic City. I usually get the Lomo Saltado for my entree and the tostones con ropa vieja as an appetizer. I love both of these dishes. My wife and I ate brunch here on a Sunday, and everything was excellent. You walk in and it's bright, open and clean. The service was fantastic, both the host and our waitress were very attentive and checked on us many times. Both switched effortlessly between Spanish and English (my wife is Ecuadorian). My wife ordered the calentado with steak, and I ordered the arepa con carne asada. Both dishes were very, very good, and the portions were nearly enough to make two full meals. We also shared a Colombian empanada and picked up something from the bakery as we were leaving. Best of all, their prices are amazingly fair, especially post-Covid.
