We had plans to try Mama's pizza that fell through so we opted to come during their week day lunch to try it on our own. The staff is really helpful; and nice. The salad buffet is decent enough. The pizza is is honestly on the greasy side. While I liked the crust, the grease made the bottom an interesting texture. The cheese is a thinker mozzarella than I can remember having at another and with the amount of it with the grease I didn't care for it. Originally we had planned to come here as a group for dinner before going to an event with friends; but found out their buffet was weekday lunch only. So my wife & I decided to try it out based on one of the friend's suggestion. Staff was friendly. The size of the buffet isn't as big as Cici's but on par for something like mountain mikes with 3-4 pizzas out at a time with a decent sized amount of options for salad bar. The pizza itself; the crust was really good as they add some sort of garlic butter on to it. The cheese is thicker than what most places use; and can tend to make the pizza greasier. My wife ended up pulling most of the cheese off of her pizza. We won't say no if the particular friend really wants to go; but we likely won't go again of our own choosing. read more

I must say, usually my experiences with pizza are good ones. Unfortunately, this trip to Mama's Pizza in Keller was not a good one. When we arrived we both ordered the buffet. After we paid, we received a small plate for the salad bar and a larger plate for the pizza. They serve Pepsi products, so not a big fan of that, but what I removed one star for was we're asked if we would like and special pizza, we said yes! I asked for pepperoni (there was none out) and also for a veggie pizza (there was none out). When we went up to get pizza, there were only 3 pies out, 1/2 or more gone and they were some bizarre choices out, so thinking that the pizza we wanted would be out soon, we turned to the salad bar. Well, the lettuce was not cut well, it was pretty limp, so not super fresh and the rest of the toppings were ok. The ranch dressing was not good. 30 minutes later as we were about to leave, they finally brought out a pepperoni pizza, but we never did see the veggie pizza. The pizza itself was ok, but I took off a second star for the salad bar and a third star as there seemed to be no sense of urgency or caring about the buffet. Not like other pizza buffets where they have many different flavors and styles, thin, regular and pan, etc. The place itself was ok, but smaller than expected. They had a game room that seemed to take up about a 1/3 of the space. In any case, I would not recommend the buffet at all and if you want great pizza, there are many other places very close by for you to choose from. I will not be back. read more

NRH location is a huge disappointment. You order thin crust expecting some amount of crispiness, but no. Just soggy crust. Even putting in oven at home can crisp it enough without burning the toppings. Speaking of toppings, they are scarce and not spread across the pizza. So you better hope your family members enjoy just cheese. They can't even cut the pizza evenly. You get a few HUGE pieces and the rest are tiny. I really, really wanted to love the pizza at Mama's. I come here often to pick up orders when I do food delivery, and am generally greeted with a smile and the pizza always smells amazing. However, when my husband and I tried it this past week, we were unfortunately just very underwhelmed. First, there was almost no one there at lunch time on a Saturday, which is odd and a little bit of a red flag, although we did see some people coming in to pick up instead of eating in. However, our 2 small pizzas took 40 minutes to come out. 40. Minutes. I'm not sure what happened, but by the time our pizzas came out we were absolutely starving and looking forward to some seriously good eats. What we tasted was just...meh. It wasn't bad pizza by any means, don't get me wrong. The toppings are generous, but there just wasn't a lot of flavor to any of it, not the sauce, nor cheese, nor the crust tasted like much. We did take home 1/2 of each pizza, but unfortunately the pizza did not reheat well at all and ended up in the trash. The staff at Mama's are super nice, so I hate to leave this less-than-stellar review, but I feel obligated to put my experience out there. We ordered delivery from this Mama's when I was visiting at my parent's house. I really like this pizza chain. It feels really old school inside, the staff is cool and casual, everything is very simple and low key. Sometimes they even have old arcade games. Nothing fancy is going on here, it's classic pizza, wings, and beer. I know Mama's specializes in an "east coast" style crust, but they have a great gluten free crust too. It's always cooked through, never raw or too doughy in the middle. Mama's also puts plenty of cheese and toppings on your pizza! Ordered takeout for the first time tonight (because of Covid-19) and was very disappointed. The pizza was lukewarm and not as tasty as usual.
