The pickup process was terrible. Could not get to the counter to check on my order. When I did get up there the girl was short with me. I got prosciutto added and there was very little added and some slices had none on it. The pizza was also not very warm and I was even earlier that they estimated. read more

Honestly, my favorite place to get pizza from in Huntersville ! Their food from a pizza to their penne alla vodka is great ! I just tried their meatballs last night, very good ! Would recommend another location like Cornelius. Gma pie very thin and wrong with rubber cheese and hero was a good 1/3 smaller than we've had before from another location --- as well as "surprise" ingredients throughout like sprinkled onions and tomatoes and a pickle? . . . Can't imagine the cross grabbing of ingredients. Staff was kind. But won't go to Huntersville location again. read more

Wowza! I haven't pizza in a while and this place knows how to make it. The flavors are over the top with the specials we ordered. One pizza had spinach, black olives, ricotta and sauce. Every bite got better with all the flavors. The other pizza had eggplant Parmesan and the flavor profile was incredible. The crust was so crispy and toasty. Just perfect! read more

My wife and I have been fan's of Mama's Pizza Express in Cornelius for some time now. Not fancy but good consistent food. The had a second location in Huntersville on Old Statesville Road which we hated. It was take out only although they did have some picknic tables in the rear if you want to eat there. They did close the old location a couple years ago and remodeled this location and moved there. Big Improvement. Now you have a place to sit down and enjoy your meal. From what I can tell, it's the same menu as the Cornelius Location with the same quality. Went for lunch with my wife a couple of weeks ago and had the Healthy Italian Sub with is based on a Breaded Chicken Cutlet. My wife if I am not mistaken, had the Tuna Salad Hero. Both were good. Service was fast with great pricing and will be back at some point early next year. read more

We have been dining in & picking up lunches and dinners for several years now from the Huntersville location. The food is fresh & the service, congenial & efficient. They have a great assortment of menu items & we have never been disappointed in any. Even though we live closer to the Cornelius location, our experience there has been spotty; lots of turnover, poorly trained counter people, disappointing portions, one price clearly listed on the board yet charged a higher one at the register. It has just rarely worked out for us. So we stick with the Huntersville location. read more

Everything we ordered was extremely greasy including the serving containers and carrying bags! My husband ordered pasta w/meatballs and the pasta was soft and gummy and the sauce was extra greasy. I ordered wings and it tasted like cardboard tossed in wing sauce. Unfortunately we ended up throwing all of our food away! See images below of all the grease that dripped out of our trash bag! 1. Their website ordering menu needs to match their regular menu, it does not. Since when does a meatball parmesean not come with red sauce/ marinara. There cheesesteaks are lacking meat and most of the time recently over cooked. We started ordering from their original location years ago and since they moved their quality has gone down hill. 3 strikes and your now out!!! Sad to say because they used to be awesome!!!! read more

I ordered a sausage parm to go. What a disappointment. I should have brought back and asked either to make a fresh one or give me my money back. The sausage was burnt and so was the bread. The sausage must have been sitting there since the afternoon. There was no personal care in how they prepared the sub. read more

My family has a tradition when we move into a new home - our first meal is pizza from a local restaurant. Mama's gave us a great welcome to Huntersville! The hand tossed pizza was soft and chewy with a great sauce. Delivery quoted one hour on a Monday night but our meal arrived in 35-40 minutes. For some good local pizza Mama's delivers! read more

The Manager is EXTREMELY RUDE. My order was completely messed up and he refused to make it right. I spent over $40.00 and he basically called me a liar and would not refund or replace the food for me. I cannot attest to the taste of the food because it went straight into the trash. Truly think this is the best pizza in Charlotte! It's authentic New York pizza, it's a slice of "home"! Their product is consistent and that's what I appreciate. The portions are crazy huge. Truly reminds me of the old local pizza parlor when I was a kid. Never have any complaints about the customer service. If ever there is an issue, they make it right. Actually, I've not had an issue but the staff is outgoing and friendly so I feel confident about my last statement. It's a great family atmosphere and child friendly. Oh, May I suggest the calzone!!! Very good pizza! I think it's even better since they moved locations. Either way, more space. You can actually sit and eat now. Friendly service too. The only negative is that the prices are too high. For the record, even though I know it's the same, I feel like the regular-size pizza is more enjoyable than if you get a 14-inch pizza. Don't know why. Just how it seems to me. But I usually feel this way about pizza. Me and pizza go way back. About 93% good memories. How many relationships (of any kind) have you had in your life where it has been 93% good memories. That's pretty impressive. Appreciate pizza! read more

I had a wonderful experience at Mama's Pizza Express In Huntersville, NC! I expected it to be a quick pizza stop, but it turned out to be an absolutely delicious experience! The subs, pizza, and most importantly the Hospitality was wonderful! Mrs. Maria had just prepared some delicious homemade Italian bread and her family Mr. Jovanni and Mr. Vinnie were preparing to eat! They invited me to fellowship with them and break bread together! I met Alex the first day I stopped in and after my family enjoyed the subs, I had to return again for round two! Yes, please! If you really want to overindulge get the grandmas pie! Honestly, though, you really can't go wrong with any of it. The rice balls are absolutely amazing. I'd seen this place awhile ago and had a meal recently on a whim. I wanted something quick and tasty and after reading reviews decided to go with an Italian sausage sandwich, or so I thought. I should have asked what it was called on the menu but instead selected what I thought was what I saw on Yelp. I glanced at the menu and ordered the Hitman because I saw Italian sausage, but I failed to see the other deli meats on the Sammy. I am not a huge fan of deli meats, so while it wasn't bad, it just wasn't what I wanted. I basically ate the bread and the sausage. My fault. I'll give Mama's another go soon. I've read good reviews about the pizza and would love to try it. read more

Their food keeps getting worse and worse, and their prices keep getting higher and higher. We ordered 3 pasta dishes last night. One was the spaghetti and meatballs, one that I've ordered for years. Last night was the worst night of my life. Never have I EVER had the WORST heartburn of my life. I took 5 heartburn pills, and almost a 1/2 bottle of Pepto before I actually fell asleep at 5am. And then this morning I saw what my wife actually paid for it. 3 pasta dishes cost $73.00!!!! That's dining prices!!! None of us were happy with our dishes, and after seeing this, we will NEVER order from them again. They got greedy, and just lost a decade + long customer. read more

It took a while for their new address in the old Romanello's site off I-77 Exit 23 updated in Yelp so my first visit to pick up a to-go order took me to the old location on 115. Beyond that little hiccup, I've had generally good food from this version of Mama's although I have a very limited window of items to comment on as I've only ever gotten their Hero sandwiches, both hot and cold. My general take on these Hero's is that the ingredients are tasty with the hot versions being better than the cold based solely on the bread used. The hot sandwiches come on a thinner in diameter sub roll that crisps up nice on the outside and is soft and fluffy on the inside. The rolls used for the cold hero's is a little thicker, bready and not as good as the rolls at Jersey Mike's which just so happens to have a location next door. The ordering by phone and pick up, pay at the counter has always gone smoothly. Add in that the new location is a little closer and, Yippee! read more

We have always loved the Pizza from the Huntersville location but tonight we tried some entrees and a meatball hero delivered to our house. In short, the food was outstanding. It arrived on-time and hot which is an amazing feat in these days of Ubers and whatnot. The hero was huge as well as the stuffed shells and of course, the egglant parm was excellent too. Uncle Maddio's is spacious. Plenty of booths and tables. The service is awesome, everyone is so friendly. You can seat yourself & you order at the counter. They don't have paper menus, there's a QR code with the menu. We ordered 2 pizzas, the Italian and the Mushroom Truffle, both soooo good. We also had a Caesar salad & the garlic parmesan wings. The wings were ok, kinda soggy. The salad was ok, but the pizza was fantastic. I'm so glad we picked Uncle Maddio's. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely go back.

Cheesy, warm, good sized slices. The salad was ok, a bit more topping heavy than greens/lettuce. We also had a side of crostini which looked tasty and well seasoned but sadly lacking in flavor or at least needed a dipping sauce. All in all though, I enjoyed this catered lunch.
