This might be my favorite place for brunch/coffee in the city. The interior, the drinks, the food... the aesthetic! I've been here a couple times, and I always order the tartine au saumon; it's so refreshing in the summer and came with a side salad the last time I was there. The pastries and coffee drinks are so good too, my go-to order is a honey lavender latte if you like something slightly sweet! read more

Honestly, is there a bad location of Maman? I have to say this might be my favorite. I love the tables along the front window and all of the natural light that pours inside. I stopped in for a quick post workout breakfast. I'm a huge fan of their quiche Lorraine. Might try a breakfast sandwich the next time I stop by. read more

Can I say how much I loved, loved, loved this café restaurant. I only wish I had existed when I lived in the neighborhood. It's beautiful, with a French country theme throughout. (They also had the cutest booster seat for my daughter!) The food is also delicious! The pistachio cake with orange was probably the best pastry I've ever had. Avocado toast and potatoes were superb, as was the coffee. Can't wait to come back! read more

Solid breakfast place with great ambiance and fantastic service. They have high chairs for the kiddos, lots of seating, and a great menu. We had the Pappa's bowl, the omelette, and a "kids meal" of scrambled eggs and avocado. Everything was tasty, I'd say the Pappa's bowl (with the bacon jam yum) was the standout favorite. I found the omelette a tad over cooked, but very tasty with the add-ins I requested. Overall I would return, and especially for the pastries. I tried a chocolate croissant that wa read more

Do not go here with kids!!! Waffles don't come with syrup. The smoked salmon comes out with a ton of everything mix on it. They tell you neither when you order the $25 worth of food that your child won't eat. And I don't think it's too much to expect syrup when you see waffles on the menu and plain smoked salmon when you order plain smoked salmon. read more

This location is adorable. Definitely a place where I can see events being held or even just a cute place for photos. On the other hand, my pastry was burnt, stale and overpriced. It was around $6 and was not good at all. Tasted like it was baked days ago. read more

Hello, I would love to share with you my today's experience in one of your cafes, located at 154 court street. I'm still shocked since I've never had such treatment before anywhere in my entire life. I stopped by to have a nice brunch with my one year old, sitting in the stroller. I was basically refused in service. The cafe was half empty, lots of vacant tables, I asked for one and said that I'll need a high chair, the place had only one high chair and it was taken already, the offered me a tiny table next to the toilet, I didn't really care but it wasn't really possible to put the stroller the way so the any single person passing wouldn't touch it. I nicely explained why this table would not work and asked for another one and was refused. I asked for the manager and she was extremely rude, I'm still shocked cause it's ridiculous. She told me that she could give a table but wouldn't let me to put a stroller instead one of the chairs and that I had to hold my baby on my laps. I said that it's not gonna work, since I need to feed him and I need to put him in a high chair or stroller to do it. After that the only thing she offered was: I CAN HOLD THE DOOR FOR YOU!!!! She literally told me to fuck off!!! Is it the service you guys are offering???? I've been coming to this place pretty often, every time I'm in the neighborhood to be exact and that's how you are treating your clients? It's not okay! Instead of the apology from the manager I was basically kicked out of the restaurant. read more

I stopped by this cafe on a cold windy day to warm up and loved how cute and trendy the interior was. I ordered the Earl Grey tea and it was rich with flavor, definitely one of the better cups I've had! I also tried a slice of their pistachio loaf cake- it was quite large and tasted lightly of pistachio which was good (not too overpowering) but it was a bit dry. I ended up splitting it with a friend since it was too big for just me alone. I didn't love the icing around the loaf- it almost tasted of marzipan which i personally don't like but my friend loved it so it's just a matter of personal preference. I would definitely come back for the tea again! read more

This was my first time here, and definitely my last. I walked in a good mood and happy to treat myself to an Easter brunch, only to leave completely unhappy and disappointed. At the get-go, the waitress had an attitude and was condescending, which quickly dampened my good mood. I ordered the ham quiche with a side of roasted potatoes. Thank goodness I did, because the quiche didn't come with anything, not even a little bit of mixed greens. I thought I saw it came with it on the menu, and after trying to get my waitress' attention a couple of times, she came over and rudely told me it doesn't come with mixed greens. I mentioned I thought I saw it on the menu and she rudely says to me " it doesn't unless you want to pay an extra $3.50. I'll get the menu for you." I said "no thank you, it's fine." The quiche was awful, and so were the potatoes. No favor and cold, not even lukewarm. After one bite I wanted to run out of the place, however I felt stuck. I doubted they would comp me for the bad food and service and let me walk out without paying for the food on my table. I definitely did not want them to replace it with another bad meal I would have to pay for. I'm kicking myself because I could have had a nice brunch at Chez Moi, Bar Tabac or numerous other places in the neighborhood, or picked up some provisions at Le French Tart Deli and did brunch at home. I thought I would try Maman because it's in the neighborhood and I pass it all the time. I won't be going back, not even for coffee. I will keep walking... read more

If you're on the ongoing search for a legit cafe in Cobble HIll where you can drink some coffee and do some work....this isn't it. There's a reason tons of people choose to go to a cafe over a restaurant, bar, bodega-- all places you can get coffee. The most frustrating part about my visit to Maman was walking into a cafe for a cafe experience... ...standing in line... .....getting to the register... .......and halfway through ordering... learning that the full cafe experience is NOT available. I guess this place is taking a stance against all the freelancers, writers, artists-- all the dopes who work from home and don't come from wealth (yeah some of us manage to live and/or work in this area) and wouldn't mind a cafe that actually embraces cafe culture. In all fairness, this is on-brand with most of the cafes in this area. However--- to the business owners: If you don't want the likes of us in the cafe....that's fine. However, could you put a sign somewhere, or warn customers before we stand in line so we don't waste our time? I understand you probably have a loyal base of regulars, but you have to know that outside of those regulars a bulk of the people who walk in your place are probably looking for a place to work. So, instead of passive-aggressively shunning us... just warn us in advance. .... read more

I had been to the ones in Manhattan a couple times and loved it but this one is particularly lovely! Beautiful decor, spacious, friendly staff, etc. The hot chocolate here is one of the best I've ever had and the pain au chocolate is amazing as well. This is an adorable little place with delicious food! We arrived around 10ish on a Saturday and were seater right away. Service was great. The oat milk lattes were seriously amazing, my son loved his chocolate croissant and I loved my avocado toast. Highly recommend! read more

Second time eating at this location and today was THE last. As soon as you come in, there is this sour stench and it's baaaaad. There are at least 4-5 flies buzzing around plus the additional gnats landing on your table.. Like wouldn't you try to address this before opening?? The 20 something staff really put a damper on the "day dreaming environment" that Maman wants to try to promote. 4 baristas behind the counter chatting, talking about how annoying inventory is and taking pictures with celebrities. Really hope this review can alert the owners to clean this cafe and improve the fly situation because it's simply just gross! read more

We decided to have brunch before our flight. The aesthetics of the place was pleasing to the eye and unlike previous visits not crowded. We had a couple of sandwiches which were well put together and tasted good. I had the parfait which was lovely but I must quibble that the spoon provided was too big to get to the cinnamon apple chunks that were at the bottom and I ended up using a fork to scoop it out. Overall a decent experience at a clean place with tasty food but be aware that the prices are steep. read more

I was super excited when I saw we were getting Maman in the neighborhood! This new location is so beautiful, I love the indoor dining space. They have a wide variety of options in their menu, as well as pastries that vary seasonally. Their cookies are known for being delicious. One of my favorite things about Maman in general is the high quality of their paper cups - they are sturdy and don't feel like falling apart as you carry your hot drink around. I love the seasonal coffee drinks (will miss the gingerbread latte). Staff is very friendly at this location and, although very busy, they get your order ready very quickly. read more

I went to two different Maman's on my trip to NYC and both visits were lovely. The stores are quaint and impeccably decorated. The items for purchase were wonderfully curated and I haven't even mentioned my drink yet. It was so good I had to go back a second time for the same thing. I've been wanting to try Maman in the city but just haven't gotten around to it. Luckily it made its way to me by opening a location in Cobble Hill and I couldn't be happier! Expect to wait at least 10-15 minutes for one latte to go, even when there are no other customers in the cafe.
