Excellent flavors . . . Homemade? Reminds me of Hawaiian Shaved Ice. Be adventurous and go for all the toppings!

This is the only place I know of in the area that sells fried tofu, rice crepes (banh cuon/uot),…read moreand che at the scale that they do. Overall, the food is good. I once had a durian smoothie here that was nice (they said they use fresh durian). Unfortunately service sucks. You use context clues to get in a line at the end of the store, order with an employee after they're done and look at you, have your order number flashed at you (which you're obligated to memorize as you do not get a receipt or physical number), and then you hover around the front of the store until you're called via your number. My biggest gripe is that they hire non-Viet speaking workers to take your order and expect you to understand them when they butcher the name of the foods. I ordered some cha ca (fish patty since I saw it in the glass container by the front on the counter and pointed it at) and the lady kept saying chacachinchacasong quickly 2-3x. I asked her what do you mean? She repeated it. I said I don't understand what you're saying. She looks to her non-viet speaking coworker, shakes her head, and says "chino" with an attitude. Eventually I come to realize after some pondering that she said "cha cá sóng (raw fish patty)" "cha cá chín (cooked fish patty)". I'd recommend management to remind the ladies to say things slowly if the customer does not understand or say "raw" or "cooked" if they cannot adequately pronounce Vietnamese to their large Vietnamese customer population. I'd also recommend not to insult the target customer in front of them.

I always try to stop by here once a month to pick up a big order of their fried items like the…read moremushroom tofu, green pork balls, and spring rolls (which are my absolute favorite. Their che is pretty decent too and I love their cassova with salted peanuts is SO good. You will absolutely find something if you stop by for a visit. Plus you get a free soy milk if you order over $35 (pretty sure but it's on their store as to what the amount is) of items. It might seem hectic upon arrival but it's really not. You wait your turn to get served and when you're done ordering they'll flash a number at you that you need to remember. Then you wait until your number is flashed by the cashier so you can pay and pick up. For those who don't want to deal with the hectic parking in Eden Center, stop by on a weekday in the later afternoon.

They're best known for their bingsoo, or Korean shaved ice, which is perfectly fluffy and delightful, with a sweet, milky flavor that acts as a great canvas for all their toppings. You can't go wrong with of their bingsoo options, but they do run a little bit large and are meant for 2-3 people to share. If you're in the mood for something smaller, they do have a delightful selection of other desserts, chief among which is their rice paper waffle. This glorious confection is a super light, crispy waffle made entirely out of rice paper (which, as a side bonus, also means it's gluten-free). It's slightly chewy on the inside but generally incredibly crunchy and airy. It comes topped with a lovely rice-based syrup that tastes a bit savory -- almost malty -- and black sesame. You can also just get a scoop of their rich, creamy ice cream (instead of the shaved ice that it normally comes on top of), and it will be topped with a generous helping of red bean paste, injeolmi powder, sliced almonds, and corn flakes. The combination of flavors and textures levels up this humble little scoop to a full-scale dessert with sweet, savory, and nutty notes. Aside from their sweet treats, Soricha also has a bunch of fun drinks. They have a long menu of expertly brewed artisan teas, or you can also cool down with one of their refreshing fruit mixes. The omija berry refresher is particularly lovely, with a great balance of tart and sweet flavors that make it the perfect summertime drink. Beyond the food, the service is also super friendly and quick, and the cafe is gorgeously decorated with chill, relaxing ambient music. It's a delightful place to hang out with a friend to chat, finish some work, or do a bit of reading. I will note, however, that it is quite expensive -- the bingsoo is about $20, and the teas are a minimum of $7. It's so worth it every time, but it's definitely more of an occasional treat than an everyday indulgence.

What an awesome "stumbled upon" discovery!…read more I was in Dupont and wasn't even particularly ready for lunch yet when the music coming from here called me in. The reggae music was giving me all of the good vibes, so out of curiosity I headed down the steps. Once inside, I discovered a cozy and casual little taco spot with some great offerings and a warm staff. I took a quick look at the menu and decided on a fish taco and a jerk chicken taco, with a Hawaiian shaved ice to-go. The tacos were actually pretty sizeable and at a reasonable price point. I love the fish taco, but the jerk chicken in the other taco was a little dry to me that day. Either way, I enjoyed my food and was GEEKED out when I walked out with my shaved ice. Loved everything about this place and will definitely return in the future!

Tasty Hawaiian flavors served up in a convenient taco…read more I ordered the Crispy Sesame Tofu taco and the Jerk Chicken taco. The tofu was deliciously crispy and would be easily enjoyed by even the avid meat lover. I also enjoyed the jerk chicken taco though it seemed to lack the mango salsa that was listed which is what caught my eye. Just a few pieces of mango, no salsa. Service is friendly. Limited seating inside. Floors were in need of a good cleaning and the interior had an overall dingy look. Despite the short comings, I would still recommend.
