I never leave reviews but I've been coming here for years and it used to be my favorite. The past few years it's gone downhill. The place is dirty and the staff just doesn't seem to care. One guy in particular was rude to me before because I couldn't apply his coupon over the phone. Another time I saw him handle cash, make pizzas, prep salads, and run the register without ever washing his hands or putting gloves on. I know gloves aren't required but you should at least be washing your hands regularly. Very unsanitary. I've been to the other locations and they're much cleaner with better service. This one I will not be coming back to. RIDICULOUS. read more

I was gifted a take 'n bake recently, and since I don't eat pepperoni, I regifted it. The same day I ordered their pesto pizza on whole wheat. I ordered online with a 20% off code, and it was ready for me on the table inside by the time selected. This was the Bel Giordano, with pesto, kalamatas, tomatos, basil, and 3 cheese. Mama Mimi's has good lasagna (we get the meat one), and the pizza is okay- maybe better than okay depending on who bakes it at your house. At my house, I almost always burn it and can never get it quite right. My favorite thing at Mama Mimi's is their ranch dressing. I love this pizza! I usually go to the Grandview location that has the wine and beer making supplies inside. This location doesn't have stuff to make spirits but after you eat their food your spirits will be lifted They have wheat, white or glutin free crusts available, fresh organic ingredients, white, red or pesto sauce. I'm also a fan of their Summer Salad. I can eat a whole one of those all by myself! read more

I love their salads. I often go and buy a family size one for my lunch/dinner. The people are really nice and usually there is something to sample. One time I went and they gave me a free sample of lasagna, which was tasty. I think they have a punchcard that you can use to get a free pizza. read more

We had seen Mama Mimi's on lists of pizza places in Columbus for quite sometime, and after moving from Reynoldsburg to the 43220, were looking forward to trying it. At first glance upon entering Mama Mimi's, it appears a little dingy. But, all that glitters isn't gold. Good pizza can make up for a multitude of sins. I am greeted by the young staff; they were polite and helpful in explaining the menu options and cooking instructions. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and green peppers, paid, then sat down to wait for the pizza to be put together. The chairs where one can wait are in front of a window with a large recessed sill which was littered by dead flies and other insects. It's quite off-putting, but I'm after work tired and reviews say good things about the pizza. After a short wait, the pizza is made and the cashier offers a free order of breadsticks with marinara because it's my first time in. Certainly thoughtful. Upon arriving home, I preheat the oven and plan on cooking the breadsticks first, then the pizza. They come out and the pizza goes in. We open the container of marinara sauce, try to dip the breadsticks into the sauce, and the bread kind of bounces off the sauce. We laugh and think perhaps the sauce is frozen, and decide to microwave it when we discover the sauce isn't frozen or even cold, it's congealed. It's the consistency of a jello shot and stomach turning to realize how old this sauce must be. We followed the directions and exact cooking time on the pizza, but the cheese wasn't melted on top. So, we left it in for two more minutes. By that point, it was burnt and inedible. But even though we hadn't eaten all day and wasted a little money, we really didn't care too terribly because any place which is serving congealed marinara is no place to be dining. read more

Great ingredients, sauce is not traditional and ruins the pizza I want to like this pizza, really I do. The quality of the dough, sauce base, cheese and toppings really is first rate. Unfortunately, we are creatures of habit. Marinara sauce, the basis of most pizza sauces is simple, olive oil, crushed tomatoes or paste, garlic, salt. Occasionally an herb like basil may be added. Most pizza sauces we eat in the U.S. leave the herbs out; or they are diminished. MM's red pizza sauce has an over-abundance of either rosemary or marjorm/oregano, perhaps both. This dominant flavor, in this reviewers opinion is so strong, it ruins the pie. For our family, while we like the dough, toppings and sauce without the over-dominating flavor, we can't recommend MM's. read more

Mama Mimi's is my go-to for fresh pizza when I don't want to indulge *too* much. This take-and-bake joint is perfect for putting a fast dinner on the table. There's no eating in, and you must bake the pizza yourself-- but I think having hot, fresh pizza at home (rather than something that's had a chance to cool) is the better option anyways. You can take advantage of specials and get a few, then bake as you go. Their "spa" pizza menu has reduced cheese and is generally touted as being lower calorie, though I'm not sure by how much. You have the choice of honey wheat crust or white for all the pizzas. If you have problems with gluten, on Thursdays they have a gluten-free dough option. Their salads are fantastic. I love the in-house made dressings. The vinegar flavor of some of the vinaigrettes may be to forward for some, but I love a strong vinegar taste. I almost always get a large salad and a large pizza-- this can easily feed four. The lasagna, however, is a bit bland. Mama Mimi's has a frequent buyer program, if you're into that kind of thing. As for this particular location: it's relatively convenient if you're in the north-UA area, in a small strip mall on Henderson road. The space is large but sparse, clean. If you have kiddos, there's a little toy area in the corner that doesn't look too gross. Pretty much bare bones, though... just a few waiting chairs and the counter. Service is always friendly and energetic. Sometimes, they'll throw in free breadsticks if they're trying to get rid of some dough. Finally my boyfriend and I have found a pizza that we both love. We first tried in in November 2014 when I purchased a Groupon. The Groupon was a great deal. Tons of food for $19.00. We got a large pizza, salad, breadsticks and cookie. Since discovering it we've gone there at least once a month. When you walk in the smell of pizza just smacks you in the face, which I love. My first job in high school was a pizza shop so it always brings back memories. Their lasagna is also delicious. It's also a great idea to take to someone who's just had a baby. Used to work here they refuse to pay a living wage and denied me a raise due to supposedly "seeing me on my phone." The owner "Jeff" also stole my last paycheck which I needed during covid after I found a job that offered more than 20 hours a week. The food is ok but that's not the point. We got two calzones for dinner, a regular pepperoni one and one that was a premium pizza as a calzone, the 'queen margarita'. Both were very good, SO's only complaint was that the marinara sauce was much sweeter than he preferred. I enjoyed the queen margarita, it was exactly what I had been craving all day. This place is a little scary looking, so I was surprised by the quality of the pizza once I got home and cooked it. It is located in a strip-mall type building and I couldn't tell if they were even open from the outside. Mana Mimi is in desperate need of a neon sign. Once I got in, the interior was dark and a little uninviting. Cheap indoor/outdoor carpet on the floor instead of a bright tile like I would expect from a pizza parlor, old wood, stuff like that. The creepy parts aside, the staff was nice to me and patient since this was my first time. She made my pizza quickly and was polite all around. I took it home and cooked it, and hey it was pretty good! I was especially impressed with the toppings, which seemed premium. I ordered the pizza with meatballs and bacon and some other meats, and they all tasted much better than expected. Also the pizza was huge. Great little pizza place. As the name states, it is a "take and bake" pizza restaurant, where you order the pizza, then you take it home and cook it up yourself. The people that work here are friendly and helpful. The pizza is really good- if you follow the directions, the pizza will come out nice and crispy. Tasty, fresh ingredients. I have had a few of the gourmet pizzas and it is fun to try different types of pizza. The bread sticks are delicious as well- nice and garlic-y. My only complaint is the price. Their prices are about the same of other pizza places where you don't even have to cook the pizza yourself (regular pizza chain type restaurants). They do have a $1.00 off coupon on their site that you can print off and use, but I'd like to see more coupons with more money off. Also I recommend using the online ordering option of their website, or call ahead. The first time I picked up a pizza here I figured you'd just walk in, they throw some ingredients on a pizza and you'd be out in a few minutes. I was wrong. It takes them about 15 minutes to put together your pizza. So for time saving purposes, definitely order ahead. read more

For our calzone, we ordered the cajun chicken. It comes with a delicious spicy sauce. The caesar salad was enjoyable, and they give you a HUGE cookie too. Pretty good. Crust is a honey wheat almost like. Nice thing about this place is you can bring it home and add any other toppings you have on hand before you put it in the oven. Saves a couple bucks if you have banana peppers or pineapple in the fridge ;) not the best pizza ever but not bad. We've been getting our pizzas here since Mama Mimi's first opened years ago, despite our disappointment when they changed their red sauce recipe a year or so ago (it's not as good now). But I had a terrible experience on Christmas Eve this year... The lesser problem was that they were so busy that their production system was completely overwhelmed and, even though I had ordered by telephone an hour ahead, I still had to wait in the store for well over another hour and then they got my order wrong! What really turned me off, however, was as I was waiting in line I had to watch the women make our food with with nothing covering their long, flowing hair. The main person (she looked and dressed like a manager) was working so hard that she sweating and kept having to push her long hair away from her face - with the same gloved hands that were simultaneously tossing the ingredients onto our pizzas. I suppose this may sound fussy to some, but I found it disturbing. I'd rather kitchens that are run like this would at least do it in the back where the customers can't see it. read more
