Re made cheesesteak after epic fail on first try. This one was very good
    Alex T.

Very conflicted on how to rate our experience. We went for lunch to try the cheesesteak and pizza. Ordered a slice of pepperoni which was disappointing on all aspects. The crust, sauce, cheese and pepperoni were all disappointing. The cheesesteak was advertised coming with lettuce and tomato and having 8 of meat. Jordan asked if we wanted it on a seeded roll and I was happy. Unfortunately what she brought out was pitiful. Check the first picture to see there is no way this was close to 8 oz. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed. I actually cut half the roll off on each half of the sandwich. That's how scarce the sandwich was. When I was asked I told her taste was good but this was far from what was advertised and looked pitiful. She offered to make a new one which I turned down at first but she did really want to make it right so I agreed. The sandwich we took home and ate later on at night was quite good and appeared to have the advertised 8 oz of meat. So if the second one is the truly how they make them then I found one of the better cheesesteak in the area. If it was filled to compensate for the first attempt then that would be the last time they will see me. There in lies the conflict because to determine which is the most accurate depiction of their cheesesteak I have to go back and probably will. The one bright spot was Jordan who remained nice and sweet throughout the ordeal. She's a great example of excellent customer service and deserves a raise.

Menu has so many choices, but not too much that you are left baffled. Homemade pasta is no joke. Delicious. We enjoyed the calamari and bruschetta appetizers. The freshness of tomatoes and cheese was honestly so delicious. The marinara with calamari was also so good! Great serving portions too! For our entrees, I had Seafood Marechiara over linguini ($34) which was loaded with clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp in a beautiful tomato sauce. My husband enjoyed the Atlantic Salmon. ($30). Sauté was delicious. Sundried tomatoes, capers, and spinach. I tried his potatoes too, and the sauce they were in was so good! We were attended to frequently, but not too much, so we really enjoyed our time, and our BYOB Pinot Noir. If you have thought about going, but have not, gooooooooooo!!!! I remembered to take few photos, but the bruschetta looked and tasted too good to stop for photo!

I was hoping to take that away in a jar !!! The pizza was ordered instead of an appetizer because there was so much on the menu we wanted to try You can tell that chef makes the food from scratch Also don't sleep on their gelato ... The wait staff was phenomenal ... thanks Jessie ! We will certainly be returning !

It's BYOB with plenty of parking and reservations are a must since they're always busy! You can easily book on resy.com. I've been twice now, and have enjoyed each visit. All their pastas are homemade and their dishes are very flavorful. My husband thought their chicken Parmesan was a little too salty for him with the vodka sauce, but he's sensitive to cream and has more bland of a palate than I do. I thought it was delicious. We had started off with the stuffed gnocchi appetizer. This was hands down the best gnocchi I've ever had! It was like little pillows filled with ricotta in the most scrumptious cream sauce with roasted tomatoes. We wanted to lick the plate, but used the bread to wipe it up instead haha. For my main dish, I had the shrimp scampi with the creamy rice and it was incredible! The shrimp were absolutely perfectly succulent and not overdone and rubbery. The lemon butter sauce was divine. I may opt for the linguine instead next time since I was overloaded with cream after the gnocchi, but it was delicious the next day as leftovers. Service was attentive and well timed. The restaurant is lively and not the biggest, so don't go here expecting a quiet meal. I need to try their dessert next time!

First, they get busy, so I highly recommend a reservation (they do have a bar but that seemed to fill up quickly). Inside, it's well laid out, plenty of space and tables. It looks great. The service was very good the entire time. We didn't wait on anything and our server always seemed to know when we did need something. They serve a good semolina bread with sesame seeds, the olive oil they bring out has seasoning in it. That's typically not my thing, let the olive oil speak (if it's good) but it worked. For apps, we ordered the fried green tomatoes with lump crab, the stuffed long hots, eggplant parmagiana, and the grande meatball. Meatballs are my favorite; these didn't disappoint. They are large, not tough, and well seasoned. The salad they came with made no sense, but it is what it is. The long hots were stuffed with sausage and had a kick, but that's the fun part about long hots. They were very good. The fried green tomatoes and eggplant were mediocre. Both dishes lacked flavor. For the entree, I ordered the veal chop, and while I'm not sure if there are many other served in SIC (they claim "the best in the city"), this was great. It's old school, but it was cooked perfectly and seasoned even better. I crushed it. There was a side of mixed vegetables and potatoes, which were not good. Undercooked, likely made ahead of time, held and scooped out when needed. A few strange things: they have multiple tomato sauces, and they served two different versions of the sauce on the same pasta at our table. One was chunkier and good, the other was runny and flavorless. Second, they upcharge for any changes...if you want a different pasta noodle with a dish, it was $8 more. While I would understand if they were serving high-end fresh pasta, they're not; it's simply a money grab. But even with those issues, it was good. I'll go back next time I'm there and stick to the veal chop...because that was really good.
