We tried Mama Maria's for the first time this week. Do not let this small building fool you... Mama Maria's is BIG on taste! This is our new favorite pizzeria! The pizza is delicious and their garlic knots are superb! Every pizzeria makes garlic knots, but they are not all equal! These are covered with a delicious helping of what seems like roasted garlic. Not soggy with oil. But tasty, good sized, and tempting on that ride home! I've also had the baked ziti, served with a nice side salad and warm bread. Sooo delicious! ( medium to thin crust is the norm.) Toppings are always fresh and wonderful. Today we decided to try the wings. YUM. They are definitely different than wings we have ordered elsewhere. I live right down the street from this place. Their pizza, first of all, is delicious. Seriously best pizza in the area, hands down. HOWEVER, they need to work on being sanitary. Went here for pizza the other night. Had half sausage, half pepperoni on a large pie. It was very good. Ambiance is classic pizza joint. Get your own drinks from the cooler, seat yourself, paper plates, paper napkins, etc. One minor problem is that we waited in vain for someone to come to our table. Then my guest noticed the sign saying please come to counter for service. Unfortunately I couldn't read the sign from across the room. Was told the food is amazing and great price so I ordered online and was told it would be ready from 5:15-5:30. Aweful experience on 5/26/18. Ordered a chicken ceasar salad and the lettuce was never washed! There was mud/dirt on the lettuce leaves (noticed this) while i was eating (bit down on sand) and then when i picked up a piece of grilled chicken I discovered a dead house fly!! Have stopped for pizza a number of times and it was delicious. However, tried calling in an order on two separate occasions in the last month and was quickly put on hold both times. After waiting almost five minutes, I was disconnected and called right back to be quickly put on hold again! I couldn't even get a chance to say I was disconnected. I stop there on my way to my aunts, when I'm leaving the island or before I go to the island or if I'm just popping in. This is because they are very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Everyone there is like a little family making it very welcoming and comfortable. They care about each of their customers and accommodate what they need. Terrible! Stopped by for a few quick slices. The waitress handled the food with her hands, threw garlic powder on it, threw it in the oven and forgot about it. I've tried every pizza place I could find that would deliver to us and Mama Maria's by far has been the best. We ordered other items that were ok but it didn't matter since the pizza was excellent.
