Over-done Pizza...

The pizza is just so oily and sometimes I let that go for the sake of a quick grab and go...but tonight the pie was burnt and they did nothing about it. Just so disappointed. Is it really that hard to make pizza?

New(ish) location!

So Mama Leah's Pizza is still open! Who knew? Because I definitely did not, and finding my way back here yesterday was such a happy surprise! When I was in high school I would eat pizza from here at least once a week with my friends. I always loved it and looked forward to grabbing a slice. I moved away from the area for nearly a decade and that's the last I ever heard about Mama Leah's. When I moved back I never saw it on Reisterstown Road and stupidly thought they had closed. So yesterday when I was in Pikesville looking for a place to stop for lunch imagine my surprise when I realized that Mama Leah's merely relocated! The pizza was as good as I remember it. They are heavy on the cheese, which I love, and the sauce is definitely a sweeter variety. I came in and told them how happy I was to return and they were so very nice. I ordered the lunch special, which was 2 slices of cheese pizza with 1 medium fountain soda for $5.25. The slices are very big - the 2 slices were more than I would ever ordinarily eat for lunch, but they have a credit card minimum of $5 and I was blissfully forced into gluttony. The restaurant was very quiet and I was able to enjoy my lunch break and read. It's definitely not much to look at, and has a lot of things that are on the older side (the chairs are really scratched up, etc.) but I didn't mind. I will definitely be back, both for lunch AND for the Israeli pizza - eggplant is mixed into the sauce and it's topped with cheese and falafel!!! This is now on my short list of Baltimore foods to try, and once I do I'm going to write all about it! Know that this place is Kosher, which means their hours and menu will reflect accordingly. They close early on Friday (at 2:30pm) and re-open on Saturday nights one hour after Shabbat ends. You're also not going to find some otherwise standard fare pizza toppings (like any type of meat). But it's an awesome, no frills pizza place that makes me feel nostalgic. I love it!

Lunch special-so good!

Food here was below average. The pizza was really grease. It took them 45 minutes to get me a plain slice. The floors are so slippery.

Less than desire - able ! Doubt if there is any room for improvement. Eat at your own peril!

This location is pretty close to my house so its probably the one I frequent the most. They are usually fast when I need a carry out, I call and get there in about fifteen minutes to pick up my order. I never have to wait much longer than that. The staff is always friendly and polite. They will let you take a look at your pizza before you leave to ensure its to you liking. They are generous when you ask for crushed red pepper or parmesan cheese. Lobby is always clean and they have a bar if you need a night cap while you wait for your food or dinning in. Price is the same as any other Ledo and competitive with other carry outs. I wish they delivered sometimes but its not much of a hassle getting there. I love the pizza and haven't had a bad experience here so I will keep coming back.

Fries with old bay , not sure why, served as an appetizer, didn't ask for it to be . The owner must have just woken up from sleeping in the booth. No other customers on a Saturday at noon. I can see why. Should be shut down ! Had to ask for refills, napkins, silverware . Bathrooms has no paper Towels or any way to dry your hands ,
