This cute little place makes their own ice cream onsite, and I love the way they put their flavor menu up and the adorable cow-patterned chairs! Hubs waffles between buttered pecan and maple walnut and the sweet young lady behind the counter recommended the maple walnut - I had a bite and it was really good!

We went in and they have a pretty spacious interior for an ice cream shop. A few open tables but most were full. I walked right up to the counter and ordered a chocolate shake. It was very comparable cost to most fast food type chains for milkshakes. I was hoping for the best milkshake I've ever had, but it fell short. I would say a 6 out of 10. It was OK, so my tastes may be a little different than yours so take it for what it's worth, but if you like a lot of ice cream flavor options they have very many and may be the place for you.

The owner also came over and made sure I was being taken care of. I really appreciate the service experience! Atmosphere- 4/5 This is a classic coffee shop! Many different scoops and sub options. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the sizes! Definitely recommend you check out Scoops and Subs! Opportunities for Learning- 4/5 There are many options from a variety of cultures (like Chicago-style sandwiches) and a variety of different types of ice cream flavors that would push your palate. I left googling a few different things. You'll definitely learn something when visiting.

We stopped in for lunch on Saturday at Scoops & Subs for the first time. Unfortunately, it wasn't a…read morememorable lunch experience, and it's probably not a place we'll think of first for future lunches. Let me start with the positives. The staff member working was incredibly friendly -- welcoming, helpful with questions, and genuinely seemed happy we were there. That kind of service always makes a difference. We ordered three items: * I had the Chicago hot dog * My husband ordered the Hot Italian sub * Our daughter got the roast beef sub I ordered the Chicago hot dog. Having had a Chicago dog in Chicago before, I was excited to try their version. It was fine, but it didn't really stand out or leave a lasting impression. My husband skipped the au jus that normally comes with the Italian sub because he doesn't love a soggy sandwich, but after one bite he wished he hadn't -- the meat was dry. Our daughter said the tomato on her roast beef sandwich had that gritty texture you sometimes get when a tomato has been frozen and thawed (happens in my fridge at times). Overall, she said it wasn't the best roast beef sandwich she has had. So the summary is: nothing was terrible, but nothing was particularly delicious or memorable either. One other suggestion would be lighting. The interior felt very dim, which made it harder to read the menus placed on the bar and harder to read the details on the ice cream labels. A brighter space inside would make it feel more welcoming and easier to navigate. While we were there, a party of two came in and another group of about five or six shortly after. Both groups ended up getting ice cream only, which may be a hint at what people come here for. This is a locally owned business, and we do enjoy supporting local spots. We'll likely come back at some point and try the Hershey ice cream. Based on this visit, it just didn't quite hit the mark for us on the lunch side -- but we're open to giving the ice cream a try next time.
